I prefer the Dollar Tree over other dollar stores - the shops tend to feel a bit "nicer" compared to other stores/chains. I don't shop very often, but I find that the Dollar Tree is a great place to hit up for the following items: -Greeting cards (2 for $1 vs. spending a few bucks each at the regular store) -Metallic balloons ($1 each vs. spending $3 or $4 at Safeway) -Spices -Glassware/ceramic plates (cheap way to stock your kitchen with reasonably designed kitchenware) -Party supplies (trays, platters, decorations, etc...pick your items wisely and you can probably pull off your guests not knowing that you got your gear from the dollar store) The lines can suck at times - they can be 6 or 7 customers deep and only have one cashier. I do not know if they're just understaffed, have poor employee allocation, or the cashiers just don't pay attention to how long the line is getting. read more

I was in the Stevenson Blvd., Fremont store this morning. When I walked in a few minutes after 11:00 there was one register open and the line was half-way down the isle. I thought "glich," which will be resolved by the time I get to the register. I spent about 40 minutes making my secection of miscellaneous merchandise that I intended to purchase. When I got up to the register to pay, there was still only one register open, and the line -11 people - was a little longer than when I arrived. I asked the cashier to call the manager. When the manager - young lady wearing a scarf - responded, I asked her to walk with me to the line, and pointed out the number people waiting to pay for their purchases; she didnt seem surprised. I told her that that was unacceptable. She exhibited no sense of urgency to resolve the customer service issue, and she showed a complete lack of respect for her customers time. I asked her for the name and contact information of her district manager. She told me that she couldnt give me that information and that I would have to come back on Monday when the district manger would be in the store. This is no way to run a business. If Dollar Tree chooses bad customer service, that's their right, they wont go broke without my $70. I choose not to return to Dollar Tree, and I wont go broke shopping elsewhere. read more

This Dollar store is actually one of the bigger Dollar stores and there's a Grocery outlet right next to the store. Every time I come to this store there is just that much more selection to choose from compared to the smaller stores and what I really do like is the customer service because last Christmas when I needed something specific they had no problem putting it on hold for me. Just like most dollar stores there's stuff everywhere especially in the toy section but again compared to other Dollar stores this one has that much more. Today I picked up some tablecloth's that actually had lining on the bottom for a buck and of course my favorite candies and by the pictures you can tell they actually have some pretty cool Halloween and Christmas items. I really love getting stockings stuffers and definitely the Christmas tin cans for baking goods and to give out as gifts. I also come here to get things to make my leis such as candy and ribbons and also gift cards and birthday cards. The one thing that you'll be surprised about this store believe it or not is that they do carry quite a bit of brand-name items. There have been many times when I would need to make a get well basket and I'm able to get nice travel size or small items to put in the gift basket and they are actually brand-name items. So if you're looking to buy things for fundraisers or making gift bags whatever it is definitely stop by this Dollar store because they have a huge selection and again the customer service has always been really good at this location:) read more

Not using the Amazon locker until it's outside. If I can't get what I ordered whenever then why use this locker instead of the one literally across the street that is outside. Employees here are all hard workers. They tolerate and are patient with the rude customers who knock over inventory and leave a mess. They even let customers come in 5 minutes pass closing. Went to this store thinking I will be getting the same service as the others I went to. Unfortunately NOT, walked the store for a go 15 minutes before heading to pay for my items. I heard no announcement other then (Welcome to Dollar Tree), so it's my turn got out the wallet to pay and was told how much everything cost. Then she tells me we don't have change, I said I have coins, she then said we can't even take 20's only 1's and 5's. Boom, what why where they not announcing that when I first walked in, it's a complete waste of my time to walk around getting my items, stand in line and then I can't pay for my items. I came today to buy some suntan lotion because I am getting too burned-up being in the bright sunshine. For $1, I got a 4 oz tube of 30 SPF suntan lotion, which is a good price because it cost more at the regular stores. While at the store, I looked at other items - bought some tools and mouth rinse. The price was good, only $1 for each. For the price, I do not expect great quality but if it works, I am happy. Selection of other items was great and the store was somewhat clean for a dollar store. People were asking if I needed help, and they were friendly. Checking out was quick and efficient. The store is located in a corner mall, which used to contain an Albertsons. It is near the freeway and parking was not a problem. I will return for my needs at this store in the future. They have a good variety of items. read more

I'm a little embarrased to admit it, but hey I cannot get enough of this place. Perfect pit stop when I run out of household items like napkins and paper towels, even cleaning supplies. I don't buy their food items because that's just asking for it, but everything else is a go. Really like their seasonal items too, bought many of my X-mas decor here for our apartment. And for birthdays you can save a ton on wrapping paper and gift bags. Best part is, you know how much everything is going to cost, A DOLLAR. Not bad at all. read more

There are several Dollar Trees in my area, but I think this one is a little bit bigger. The store is maintained, and pretty organized. There is an awesome candy section. Great for if you're sneaking food into the movies. You can pretty much find anything you're looking for. The only thing about Dollar Tree is they get some great name brand stuff , but it goes fast. So, you have to check every week if you really like deals, like I do. Some great finds are the dinnerware and the incense and air fresheners. If you've never been to a Dollar Tree, you're missin out. I rarely go to Dollar Tree but it's amazing what you can find here. We needed an Allan wrench and look we got one for $1. It might not have been the sturdiest, but it did the job. I also got a pound of gummy worms for $1. You can't complain too much about the quality if it's a $1. You'll definitely not get many brand names here, but if you're really pinching your pennies, then you can get pretty much what you need here. read more

I love dollar tree but they need more cashiers. During noon time kids who have open campus will flood the place for chips, candy, or soda. So lines get long and sometimes with just one cashier when some of the patrons are on lunch or shopping to get in and out. This store is a MESS! Including the Manager! The only thing good at this store is the polite cashiers. Things were in the wrong place. 8 registers and 1 was open with at least 10+customer's waiting in line. I left after 20 minutes wait. Several followed. $1 store loss. This dollar tree has potential to be better in my humble opinion. I have been here about three times and it is not stocked very well compared to other dollar trees. They sell many convenience store items such as snacks (off brand or small bags of chips/soda/frackers/pretzels/frozen breakfast/pizza). You can also buy school supplies, cheap toys, disposable utensils and fake flowers. As far as employees I only saw 1 every time I come here. Though this store doesn't have many customers either. The shelves never appeared to be cleaned out and the store is probably half stocked at what they could be putting inside. Then I see one or sometimes two other employees on the floor who look like managers and they don't help the cashier get the line down. For this type of store it has a good variety. However, it is a mess and unorganized but not as bad as some other stores in this chain. They clearly do not have enough help. And the area wide policy they put into place for shopping carts is understandable (with so much theft of shopping carts) but if you do not have a quarter to rent the cart then shopping is very difficult let alone if you do rent a cart and buy a substantial amount of goods - getting the purchased items to your car is a challenge. As carts can it be removed from the store. In the dollar stores I have shopped - I have to wonder about upper management polices nationwide on their cleanliness procedures because majority of the stores are pretty dirty- especially the one in Hayward on Mission Blvd across the street from the Cemetery; pretty disgusting inside and OUTSIDE. The reason I gave a 2 stars rating is not the staff or the variety offered. It is because the stores are dirty and many times a mess with plenty of stuff on the floor. Shame on the upper management of this chain. You should give more respect to your workers and the shoppers who keep you in business. read more

I love this Dollar Tree. It has everything you need for cheap! I stop by here monthly to pick up props for work meetings. The store is always clean and nicely stocked. I went into the Dollar Tree in Fremont on Stevenson Blvd on Friday in the morning hours and I was denied entrance because I was not wearing a mask. I was unaware of this new policy so I went to get a mask. I reentered only to buy a couple snacks. The hypocritical part was that the lady Victoria at the register wore no mask. When I asked her why she wore no mask, she displayed a mask but she never wore one. She denies entrance but she wears no mask. Why is she working with the public with no mask or gloves but she denies others entrance for not wearing a mask? When I called to complain to the manager, she took little to no interest. I was outraged that this lady is putting the public at risk because she is working in customer service. We all want to follow all the rules and protect ourselves and others but this situation was hypocritical!!! This covid 19 pandemic is a very serious situation and their management should take this matter seriously.
