And although you say you accept new and gently used items, sometimes a volunteer wants to cherry pick. Everything is always carefully packed and protected as necessary, and we're not going to unpack and repack boxes at someone's whim, and then find somewhere else for items not taken. After many years donating to a variety of nonprofit thrift shops, and sadly our favorite one shutting down, we're giving up on the Treasure Hound. We have not had similar problems with any other shop. It makes us sad because we prefer to support a group like yours that helps animals.

Yes, sometimes you find a seemingly great item and then find it either doesn't work or is missing a piece. But did you take it to the Testing Area and check it out? Many times when I find a dud, I didn't test it. It's a gamble you take and, in the end, if you find good deals regularly like I do, you'll stay in the positive. If you take your time and really dig around, many times you'll find some great things! I miss the layout of the old location for some reason but the new one is definitely easier to get to. I believe the staff like the new spot much better and are better able to keep up with clearing out the obvious junk.

It's also the Holiday season. The store manager, April is the sweetest. She is so humble and took the time to have a conversation with us and had a lovely sense of humor.
