I love that it's in my neighborhood. I don't visit the store often because this location is surrounded with bargain stores like Marshalls and its sister stores. We went here two days ago because our Ac went out and needed a window AC unit first the fact we found one for $117 was amazing and great value! When checking out Eric told us about signing up for rewards and you get a 15% coupon after 48 hours that you can use on your entire next purchase. That right there sold us on if we were gonna buy a L shape sectional we found and loved. Went back today and two gentleman helped us get it to our truck. Yeah, just not "all that." Bargains aren't bargains; case in point: a big bag of Halloween gummy candy (Albanese worms and bears) is about $9 at Ollie's, compared to $8.49 at Giant. Too, their selection is random and nonsensical; 5000 mustards, no ketchup varieties at all. No anti-perspirants (for young adult males) but tons of really lame deodorants. Paper towels - $tacks of very spendy Brawny but no lower priced alternatives. Also, check expiration dates - those thousand plastic containers of bar mix snacks expired a long time ago. Maybe that stuff's shelf stable, but for how many decades? Finally - effed up prices and truly obnoxious, off-putting employees: wifey wants a rug. Found a nice one, a big one. Only problem is it has two prices: $130 or $60. Prices and SKUs are written on the backside in two places in marker. So I find the same size, same pattern rug three times in the pile - all of them have both prices. Why I wasted my time on this I don't know, but we asked for an employee to help, he calls another employee (apparently a manager) over. This "manager" fella is a total a-hole about it, says the price is $130, and that's what it always is, says the lower price is "fake" and "not in my handwriting" (implying he prices the rugs). Then he snarkily says some "customer may have been trying to act smart and wrote the other SKU and code on there" while giving me side-eye. So I point out ALL the rugs of that type and size are double-priced. He just shrugs and walks away. No apologies for the confusion, no attempt to correct the prices on the piles of rugs, just an implied accusation that I'm running around his store with a Sharpie and going nuts. What a loser store for losers. Sad thing is, other employees are much nicer and friendlier; too bad they have to work for that prick. read more

8/6/23 Ollie's  Bargain Outlet took over an area I use to visit.  I believe a Toys R Us or a Babies's R Us use to be there. After visiting Dulles Golf Center & Sports Park, my wife wanted to show me this store.  I must say I never expected to see so many pictures of Ollie all over the place. I did not expect to see holiday cereal still being sold weeks after the holiday ended; however, the cereal doesn't expire until June 20 2024.  Other cereals at later dates.  There were a lot of cereal to choose from,  but I grabbed  only one brand  I have had before, but for $1.99 a box.  I collected 4 boxes. I looked around and saw many of the shelves needed a good cleaning and so did the floors.  I did not see man red shirts on the floor, but I guess making money on TikTok  is more easier than the hard way of earning $15.00 an hour. I saw the 7 commandments on the wall of Ollie's Discounts and remember 3 out of the 4 others. The most important one to me is BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT. Ollie's doesn't put things in hold, because they fear they might lose it. I like that credit cards are not an option at their stores. Ollie's does except check cards. We saw Ollie's Bargain Outlet sells board games and toys; however, there were only two board games that caught my eye. Both of them looked like fun games, but my wife wasn't intrested in them. There is something for everyone st Ollie's Bargain Outlet; however, things can sell out very fast around this work place.   Get it while you can. read more

If you're a college student or someone starting fresh, this store is a great place to stretch your budget. Thanks to their overstocking, you can find a wide range of good-quality products at more reasonable prices and in larger quantities than what you might get at Walmart or Target. I appreciate how the store is organized, with books at the front, followed by snacks, food, body products, clothing, bed and bath items, flooring, and cooking supplies. They even have toys, vacuum equipment, AC heaters, and gardening supplies towards the other side of the store. The store's setup is quite well thought out. However, one consistent issue I've noticed across various locations in this chain is that their bathrooms could use some renovation. They're not just inconvenient for employees but also for customers. Despite this, I do like the store overall and hope they continue to improve. read more

I would honestly say this might be a solid 3.5 stars. So as others mentioned this is filling the vacancy when Babies R Us closed. Ironically, when you walk in although everything is stripped back they left the old store's flooring in tact. The staff was friendly and helpful so that's a plus. Although the aisles are super narrow its a challenge getting one shopping cart thru let alone two. They basically buy merchandise that either hasn't sold at other stores, or stock from a store closing etc. So its a bit of a mis-mosh of things. Some stuff the prices were pretty competitive, others I didn't see much of a bargain so just be aware of that. It certainly felt like a lot of stuff was crammed into the store so even navigating with my solo shopping cart proved interesting. Now I did find a few items during my trip including some much needed lampshades in the size and color I was looking for and those where a really good price. Although I told my husband he wasn't missing much which was an accurate statement. Time will tell if this place doesn't turn into a big disorganized mess in a few months but I was at least glad I was able to find some stuff I had been looking for. read more

Went on a Friday afternoon. Finally looked into it on TikTok (after passing the big sign for months). I love a good deal and was excited to hear they sometimes have liquidations from Target. The store is huge itself with sections for snacks, books, pets, clothes, rugs, auto, home items, kitchen, bedding, and then miscellaneous from what I could tell. When i went there was a huge section dedicated to toys and Christmas decor. Most items are a good bargain but some are only 10-20% less than msrp. If you're a knowledgeable shopper though it is a great spot to find deals as you'll know which items are worth it. They had a few mini keurigs for $49.99 which is the same price amazon had them for at the time. One of the best deals was a 16oz bottle of Dove soap for a little over $1. Yankee candles for $5-$12 (one thing I will always do is buy a candle!) I will definitely be going back and checking their online site periodically to see what deals they have before going. Overall a great place if you have time to look for deals. read more

This place just open. The location used to be Baby R US. It's really big store. And it's remind me of Big Lots but much better. The store was nice and organized with lots of cheap stuff from food to cleaning supplies and households items. The employees where nice and friendly. I hope they stay like this. Went to Ollie's in Sterling on Opening Day (in the evening). They had 3 cashiers and each line had about 3-5 people in it. The staff was extra friendly though (and very talkative to each customer checking out) which is what probably was making the checkout process a little slow. They of course were also signing up people for their Ollie's Army rewards club, so that took extra time too. The store is a decent size (having been a former Babies R Us store) and they have a good amount of parking. They had a ton of various products from housewares to home/garden, some clothes, cleaning supplies, office supplies, small appliances, health/beauty items, food items, arts/crafts, bedroom decor and the list goes on. One thing I did notice is that the aisles were filled with staff members straightening things and making sure it looked presentable and well stocked. Having gone to other Ollie's it was a nice change to see this and hope it lasts. The other Ollie's I have gone to can get very disorganized inside and appear "junky" quickly. The prices are hit/miss on many things. Some are great and you really are getting a deal/saving anywhere from a few bucks to more on higher priced items, while others are marked at the sale price from a grocery store or dept. stores. You really just need to know your products and prices of what you are willing to pay to know if you are truly getting a good deal. Since they buy up closeouts etc. it's common to see Halloween cereal or fall/christmas food items in the store well after the holiday. If buying food, just check the dates and you will be fine. Inside the store, the aisles did seem to be a bit narrow, but it could have been because there were so many customers with carts wandering around on opening night. I just got their latest flyer which starts next week so I know I will be back soon. All in all a welcome addition to Sterling, VA - I hope they do well. read more
