I like the dollar days on Wednesday. I get there right when they open and yes, it is total chaos and everyone is throwing things in there, but that's how you get the good deal. Everyone has always been very polite. I've gotten some really good deals. I resell on eBay. It's a fun place to drop 80 bucks and get 80 items! I recommend coming here. The only thing I had to do was when they sent that a refill was available, I had to determine if this was on the current list, or it had been subsumed so I shouldn't refill it. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Not only does she curate her shop, but I feel like she takes the time to get to know the folks who come into her shop and make them feel like a part of a community. The staff has always been patient and willing to take out multiple pieces of jewelry from their cases even when I'm taking a long time to decide. I think a LOT when I shop, and I appreciate that I don't feel rushed to make a decision and leave. Shopping should be an experience: part art, part curiosity, and a dash of serendipity. This shop is not for those who want to get in and out without admiring. Because there's plenty to admire and you might even find the piece you've been missing all your life. I went in to have a sterling silver chain repaired. It was very expensive and the lobster clasp wasn't closing anymore. I met the owner who was welcoming and professional. I left with a suggested finish date of a week. Within thirty minutes I received a text my chain was fixed and there would be no charge. What?, was my first thought. So I returned and the owner explained that they could not put on a new lobster clasp because of how the chair was made. But they were able to fix the one on the chain. I'm not sure what magic they performed, but it works perfectly and they cleaned the chain for me. Now the hard part was not to go back with my husband and help him see I just needed some new jewelry. Maybe in the new year.... Their selection of fine items is impressive, their store beautifully kept, and their personnel kind and welcoming.

But they do have produce and meat we can't seem to find elsewhere in the area. Specifically, for meat, beef heart and a couple of seafood items. For produce, a really great pepper selection (large poblanos, nice serranos) and most definitely fresh okra. We tend to want to buy organic, and Winco doesn't come close, so we are aware that a lot of this stuff is "dirty" - but once in a while when you want to make a particular dish, Winco fulfills the bill.
