There was a small area of work out equipment which was a nice surprise. 5 lb dumbbells for $5 each. A $5 book section. The stock was a little different from other stores like this. Many items $5 and under. If you are a discount shopper check out the new kid on the block "five BELoW, you might find what you're looking for at a discount price.

This location in particular is always sold out of everything - the store often has empty shelves and bins. In addition, this location is a mess! The shelves are haphazardly arranged and items are often laying on the floors and in the aisles. You can find great prices on the items that are here. I like to shop here for character items for my kids and for journals or guided writing type books because they are much cheaper than going to Target or Barnes and Noble. Although the store itself isn't in great shape, I always love interacting with the staff at this location. They are always friendly and open to chit chat. Hopefully the opening of the new location will take some of the foot traffic out of his location and allow more time for the staff to organize and stock the sales floor.

What used to be a treasure hunt with a broad variety of unique products and genuine bargains has become a much narrower selection with fewer surprises and fewer deals. Lately, it seems like the store has shifted from offering great closeout buys to stocking cheaper brand merchandise. The excitement of finding something new or getting a great value on regular brands ,just isn't there like it once was. That said, the staff continues to be one of the store's biggest strengths. They're always friendly, courteous, and helpful, which keeps me coming back from time to time. I just wish the product selection and bargain-hunting experience would return to what made Grocery Outlet special to me in the first place.

I've come here over 100 times probably in the last couple of years, and this is the worst I've ever seen it. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted with a "Hello!" or "Welcome in!" by the cashier, but instead she demanded that I leave my shopping bag from Dollar Tree at the front. When I asked her why, she laughed. I had a wad of cash in my hand, so I'm not sure what the logic behind it was, but it was clear from the outset she thought I was going to steal. Fine, whatever. I just need a couple of fresh produce. Oh wait, the produce section looks like life support is no longer an option. It was so bad that another customer and I were talking about how we never come to this store and we remembered why. All in all, this will be the last time I come to this store. No matter what time I visit, the line always seems to move at one speed - slow. It often feels like the wait outweighs whatever bargain you're there to buy. The merchandising is another challenge. I understand the treasure-hunt shopping experience is part of TJ Maxx's appeal, but that doesn't mean everything has to feel crammed together. The clothing racks are overcrowded, making it difficult to browse comfortably or even see what's available. There are good finds if you're willing to spend the time searching. But between the cluttered merchandise and consistently slow checkout, the overall shopping experience could be much better.

Solid place for snacks, juice, water, party supplies, home goods and even personal care. The sales are always something to indulge in and the customer service is personable. The parking lot is a little run down, but super easy to navigate in and out of. Despite being shopped super hard for the holidays the shelves were fairly well kept, organized and faced. We stopped in for some candy, salt snacks and wine as well as those late last minute gifts including a seasonal Himalayan Salt Lamp that has a new great home. The Dollar General is a touch of Big Lots mixed with Walgreens and a splash of Dollar Tree, but very much it's own store. This one in Bakersfield, Kern County, California off Wilson Rd and the 99 Golden State Hwy is worth checking out for sure. The restroom at the location on white lane was a disgusting mess. The location on South Chester has the smallest floor space and narrow aisles but was well stocked. The location on Brundage is a market with a larger floor space and a small selection of grocery items. They assisted a homeless man by watching his personal cart while he shopped. This was an act of kindness, however, just be aware to lock your car and watch your purse. The main reason I would shop there is for seasonal items.

After waiting for a manager to come over, Yadira asked what size it was. The second she heard "small," she looked my boyfriend and me up and down with a judgmental expression, clearly assuming neither of us could possibly be asking for that size. The shirt was for my mom, who was already in the fitting room. Being looked at with that level of visible disgust and assumption was humiliating and honestly unacceptable from someone in a management position. Body shaming does not always have to be verbal. Facial expressions, tone, and treatment speak loudly too. What made it worse was the complete lack of accountability afterward. Instead of apologizing sincerely, Yadira responded with dismissive comments like "I'm sorry you took it that way" and "I would never do that," while continuing to act rude and avoid eye contact. Retail workers interact with people of all sizes every single day. If someone in management cannot treat customers with basic respect without making assumptions based on body type, they should not be in a customer-facing position.
