I love this dollar tree. The staff are always kind to me and my son. We like to come here for party stuff and school rewards. The selection is very broad and usually we can find everything we need. The store is clean, even when they are setting up new stock they try to keep the boxes out of the way. read more

The service that Erika provided was beyond appreciated. I was in need of some boxes and she told me that they had lots of selections to choose from as well as wrapping supplies. And you can't beat the value of the store especially everything being a dollar. What I liked about Erika the most that she was able to multitask answering my questions while ringing up somebody else and never losing a beat and of course she was all smiles the entire time. I used to LOVE this dollar tree. However, today, we had the most unfortunate experience. One of my family members dropped a candle, in a very crowded store, and over the intercom the manager yelled "you have to pay for that!" Instead of coming over and offering help and disclosing that we would have to pay for that in person. Very disappointed with the staff and overall experience today. Customer service is non-existent here. I sat behind grandma trying to return a $1.25 fall leaf garland, but was told it would be 4 minutes as neither of the 2 cashiers on duty could authorize it. Since the rest of the items had been rung up, we were told to go to another line that had been closed. As we grabbed up all our items that had been placed in the conveyor belt, the cashier, Maria, helped someone ahead of us they not only wasn't ready but wanted to order a bunch of balloons. The cashier was oblivious and not too bright as she gad apparently forgotten she had just called us over as we were the next in line. I get this store doesn't hire the brightest, but they need to have some common sense. read more

I go out of my way to go to this Dollar Tree because it is so clean and organized. Anytime I talk about going to the dollar store to people I always recommend going to this one. There was a manager there tonight that if godzilla walked into her store trying to steal a snickers bar she would terrify it to go back to the depths of the ocean that it came from. She did not play with the foolishness with the thieves that walked into the store tonight. She kept a watchful eye for any stealing in the store but was so friendly to the customers. I saw her handle returns very professionally too. There is a reason why she's in her position. (She's also SO hilarious) I recommend this Dollar Tree more the others in Bakersfield. The other employees are very nice too. Last time I was here about a month ago the cashier was cracking me up and answered my questions professionally. I regularly shop at this Dollar Tree and have never had a "run in" with this particular associate. I found out her name is Mary and she's just absolutely miserable! Trust me I understand working retail around the holidays but wow! She was so incredibly rude and forced me and my children to move out of her way so she could walk by us then tried to say under her breath that we threw all the Christmas tinsel on the floor. Why would we do that??? Of course I called her out! I couldn't help myself! That was soooo unprofessional and absolutely RUDE! If you can't handle your job around this time just quit. read more

I like this place. Normally we will get a greeting as we walk in. The wait is never too long to check out and I am usually leaving with what I came in looking for. It is usually stuff like, things for a party or baby shower. Gift bags. Chip clips, batteries, hangers, lighters for candles/bbq, light bulbs or freezer bags. Nothing too crazy. Not sold on the frozen food or any food in there actually beyond the Hunts Canned Pasta Sauce. The store is basic and things are stocked as well as they can be as staff are always keeping up with the seasons and celebrations of that month whether it be Easter, St Patty's Day, Valentine's, X-mas, etc. read more

Lots of people in line one register open . When they finally opened another register they pull the lady in front of me over the the next register to check out . She decided she needed to sort out of line and grab another litem . The manger directed me to the register so I put my one item down and waited for her to open the register and scan my item. Instead of scanning my one item and sending me on my way she calls the lady that got out of line ahead of me. That was simply rude not only to me but all the other standing in line behind me . I will never shop here again. One of the managers followed me and took my picture when I was shopping in the store. I asked her why and told me because she could. What can you find at Dollar Tree? Cheap stuff. A crapload of cheap stuff. I think it is physically impossible to walk in and buy just one item; at least I never have. This is my favorite place to go to buy cheap trinkets for my kindergarten classroom treasure box. I buy small bottles of bubbles in the wedding section (I love to think outside the box), balloons, plastic rings and barrettes, and a wide variety of little plastic toys. This stuff is a really big hit with the 5 and 6 year old set. This is also a good place to pick up all kinds of things. You can get mouthwash, toothpaste, and all kinds of personal care and beauty products. I like to pick up brushes, barrettes, and hair claws. You can find cute plastic containers in all shapes and sizes for organizing things. I buy plastic tubs and baskets to organize classroom supplies. You can get ziplock bags for cheap, too. Dollar Tree carries a lot of seasonal merchandise as holidays approach. If you want to buy stuff for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines Day, Easter, etc. just visit a couple of weeks before the holiday and you'll find all kinds of themed merchandise at a cheap price. Surprisingly, they carry a number of name brand items. For a long time I avoided shopping at dollar stores for anything other than things for my classroom, because I didn't want to get stuck with off brand inferior crap. Well, guess what? My stepdad is a big fan of shopping at dollar stores and it was him that convinced me to climb down off my high horse and check them out for myself. Yes, there is a lot of off brand stuff in this store, but there are also a lot of well known name brands hidden here and there among the aisles like little Easter egg bargains. Come on down and take a look. You never know what you might find, maybe even a chocolate Easter bunny if you get lucky on timing. read more

They are always better well stocked, organized, and cleaner compared to the others. You can find just about anything you need here. I'm not usually a fan of dollar stores. Most of the time, I can find what I need elsewhere for less. But when I need something like wrapping paper, holiday trinkets and treasures, I head here to my local Dollar Tree. This store has everything you could possibly need: bleach, hangers, mops, and peanuts (although I don't recommend buying these things together unless you want strange looks). You are covered. In some corners of the store it's like a back-alley in Chinatown, with every off-brand plastic toy you can think of. But that's really not why I patron the store. It's the awesome holiday gift trimming selection! I came here last night on a search for several small decorative boxes. Best Dollar Tree in Bakersfield. This location is my favorite Dollar Tree to visit. It is always well stocked and everyone who works there is very friendly. The Rosedale Village Shopping Center has had a makeover and is much nicer. This Dollar Tree was remodeled last year and is smaller than before but the newly remodeled store looks great. This Dollar Tree is also a "Model Store" according to their sign up front by balloons. read more

Typically a great selection of cheapo trinkets. You can also get off-brand food items here, so woohoo! I LOVE this place, though, and I think I'm addicted. It's great for craft items- teachers and other childcare professionals, check this place out! I love how they have tonnes of stickers and cards. I've even gotten a pretty funny book here ("Talk to the Hand!") that normally sells for 25$...of course, only a dollar here at the Dollar Tree. Be careful when it comes to purchasing body care products though. I've found that "splurging" on normal products when it comes to those items is the best idea, because Dollar Tree body wash is typically just watered-down chemically-enhanced soap. Nasty. Also, be prepared for a LONG line- every single time I come here, there is usually only one cash register open, and a long wait in line. We all come and buy stuff here because it's cheap, doesn't mean that we have to do the employee's job. I came in today with my son and bought at least $20+ worth around 1030am. I had everything in the green basket ready at the register, cashier said "please take out everything out of the basket", ain't that the cashiers job?? As I was waiting in line, there was only one register opened and after 5 minutes, the line started to get longer but the cashier did not call to have the manager call another cashier to open up another register. Usually we have good service at this store. Recently I noticed that since we bring our own shopping bags, that we have to bag our own purchases. The employee there rang up each item and instead of placing it into the bag she put it on the counter next to the bag. So I bagged my own items. That's ok, I guess. If I could give this 0 stars I would. I just got into the parking lot and this was the worst Dollar Tree experience I have ever had. It was packed and I was up to get my stuff next when our cashier named Devy (her manager called her Sierra) charged the lovely woman in front of me 7 times more than she was supposed to. The manager came by and tried to refund the lady but kept talking about how she didn't know how to do it. After over 20 minutes of trying to refund, the manager decided to just void and redo the check out. By now I am extremely tired of this cashier but I didn't change registers because I was next. I did my thing and while getting my change back her register was short a penny, so she asked me to give her one. I gave her one and then she proceeded to give it back to me. WHAT THE HECKY DIZZLE?
