The one thing that bothers me is that most items in the store do not have a price. That makes me very uncomfortable because the owner can just come up with a number off the top of her head and what she's feeling like that day... I don't like that at all. I think she needs to hire some help for a few weeks maybe to have someone go around and put price tags on the items.

It was a little too early, so I went down to the pier. An hour and a half later, I was heading home, but the Open sign was on, so I had to stop. What a neat little store! They have locally hand made chocolates and other treats. Jewelry, kitchen supplies, these really cool handmade Lazy Susans and these amazing carved Celtic pendants (I bought 2). When things are running smoothly, you can find some good deals. That said, I'm increasingly disappointed with a few things. During promotions, the store is clearly understaffed, and the lines become excessively long for everyone. It turns what should be a fun, bargain-hunting trip into a frustrating experience. I was also told by a staff member that they are instructed to look up every item online before pricing it and putting it on the floor. That approach might make sense from a business standpoint, but it takes away from the feeling that you're getting a fair "thrift store" deal and can really slow down the process of getting items out for customers. What bothers me most, though, is learning that this is a for-profit-only company that doesn't appear to represent any cause or give back to the community. There are donation bins in front of the store, but there's no clear indication that those donations go to a good cause or help people in need. In contrast, many other resale and thrift stores are transparent about supporting local charities, community programs, or people in need. It's disappointing that Value World doesn't seem to do the same, especially when they rely on donations and present themselves in a way that can easily be mistaken for a charitable thrift store.

all i can say is wow!!! and not a good wow…read more last week i was in line and an elderly man came back with his dirt devil that had no charger. it was no useable. the purple hair manager was like a robot. as he tried to explain , she kept talking like a robot saying unfortunately that is store policy. she must have repeated herself 10 times over and over... she was very uncaring and empathic. the only thing she could say was unfortunately..... today they informed us there is no longer a military discount of 25% any more daily. now it is only 10% on monday. what a terrible way to treat your veterans... this is a godly establisment? i would not say that at all. the only good thing was one of the workers named stella was so nice and caring. awful place return rules are terrible. don't shop at these anymore!!
