Any time I go in to purchase a single item, it turns into much more than that. Suddenly the cart is full of stuff that wasn't on my radar...but I suddenly really needed. Or did I? Anyway, considering that it's mostly cheap stuff made elsewhere...it's clean enough and you can find some cool things. There's a whole food section as well...I tend to avoid that part of the store but if that's your thing....have at it.

However, there are a couple of factors to take into consideration. While it's true that you can find cheaper clothing elsewhere, how good is the material? How much time passes before it breaks, tears, becomes threadbare, or color drained? You can feel the quality of the clothes here, you can see it in the stitching. The patterns, and designs are distinctly unique, also; They have a sales rack in the back :-) That's where I headed and found the most gorgeous pair of pants. My friend also happened to find a gorgeous coat, and since the item was 75% off, I probably got my item cheaper than what it would have cost at a regular store. Service was exceptional. While we had the items we wanted to try on in our arms, an assistant quickly came over and got rooms ready for us. We didn't feel rushed or hurried. It truly was the best boutique we visited during our visit to Saratoga Springs. I highly recommend it.

Empty cardboard boxes in those areas. Upon checkout we were informed they no longer have anyone verifying purchases at the door. Seems like cutting back and empty shelves indicate vendors are demanding payment, holding shipments. Hope BJ'S isn't closing. Lowered the rating. Coupons offered but empty shelves. Can't sell what isn't stocked.

I had a late payment on my BJ'S credit card because I had to change my checking account number at…read moremy credit Union. I made the payment on time ,but the credit Union mistakenly paid from the old account number so the payment failed due to the Bank error. I had a balance due of $687.15 with a minimum payment of $29.00. BJ'S shut down my account and told me I needed to bring my account balance up to date ($1617.00) to get my account reinstated. It turns out that I only needed to pay the minimum payment of $29.00. I am a long time member and have spent $1000"s of dollars and don't deserve to have my account shut down over $29.00 and have a late payment record due to a bank error! The Filipino Agent handling my call was totally unsympathetic about my situation and told me they could shut down my Credit Card if I was late by $1,00!!! Hopefully this was an inadvertent error on the part of the donor in gifting what was essentially a worthless item. Can't blame Treasures because they can't be expected to open and examine every $10 item. Still 5 stars in my book. I was amazed by the large layout and selection while browsing. The display areas are engaging and have you stopping to look every few feet. I found books for myself, as well as a Father's Day gift for my husband thanks to a specific display they had with Father's Day ideas. I loved the vinyl section, the horror selection, and the large graphic novel area. They also had some unique art books on display that I had not seen anywhere else. At one point I was looking for a specific title and the employee was able to help me find it. When checking out I learned they had been here for 13 years and the first shop is located in Manchester, Vermont. I was given a 10% off coupon and told about their online shop. I love supporting indie bookstores and spent a good 30 minutes shopping around. Very happy with my purchase. This is a bookstore you won't want to miss!

The top floor is for kids which I did visit this trip and there's so many varieties for kids of all different ages. The bottom floor of course is for adults and teens and they have such a selection for all ages and genres. We ended up purchasing 3 books, with one dated back to the 1850s for a great price. I love the history of this bookstore and its purpose. It was founded by a courier who lived modestly and loved books. He collected books to preserve history, with books from all around the world.
