They are so…read morehelpful and there are very few nonprofits in the area that are that helpful or kind when you drop things off most of them look at you while you unload your car from a distance and some say thank you but Goodwill is very kind and very helpful bringing over a cart so you can get it right out of your car helping you. The store is very organized. Lots of men and women's clothing and organized by clothing type and size. There are also dressing rooms which is great. All the Goodwill associates I encountered were thoughtful, kind with their southern hospitality. Houseware, I didnt find much thou they had plenty of selections. I found a wood bread bowl for $2.99 and I was just at the Paris Market in historic downtown selling similar item for $65.00. Also, I did a very good haul of finding a long black cashmere cardigan, a prairie dress which I will use for a period photoshoot and J. crew casual pants. For everything I spent under $30.00 Next time i am in town I'll go shopping in mid-town Goodwill. Thank you to all the associates at this location for making my experience enjoyable!

I had just left another nearby goodwill when I came across this one. I was surprised that it was an…read moreoutlet since there was no mention in the title from yelp but it was fine because I am familiar with Goodwill Outlets. If you are not, they are pay by the the pound centers. Also referred to as the "bins" because you have to sort through bins to find anything. I've gone to the bins in South Florida before and it's a feeding frenzy. Pure chaos. Imagine women fighting over a shirt. Thats what my local bins are like. This was not that. There were a total of 4 people in there the whole time I was there. I didn't have to fight anyone for anything. I wasn't there for hours of rotations before I found anything good. I got to search at my leisure. The staff was nice but the place was pretty quiet. I would definitely return to this location on my next visit to Savannah.

This is basically a better curated Goodwill, where they have pulled more select items and known brand names in favor of just jamming the racks with a bunch of junk. That being said, finding grills can be a bit of a hit or miss. The Store has steadyTraffic so don't expect to just catch people slipping. I have come up on a couple of really high quality dress shirts, slacks and the occasional pair of jeans, but outside of that. I haven't found much else here. There is a good deal of designer items and collectible shoes that they keep behind the counter. So I would definitely check that out If you visit. pricing overall is pretty reasonable with some of the more popular brands priced a bit higher than you normally see them in Goodwill, but that's to be expected, especially in this part of town.

It was a busy New Years Eve afternoon with the constant coming and going of thrifters. Men's, women's and some children's clothes are plentiful while furniture, housewares and Knick knacks are limited. It's seems a good place to find an inexpensive bargain, too. Getting to know the Cottage Shop was a reminder that not all of the "Old South" is gone. First of all, possibly the most unwelcoming store I have been inside of in recent memory. Knocking several times to be let in. Only to have someone answer and almost reluctantly let us inside. And then, I was followed around the store. I would like to tell you that this was because the proprietor was interested in us and wanted to help. But that would be a rose colored tint I am not prepared to see through. I am of color. I was followed around the store in a way that I know. I know the motivation and belief system that causes store personnel to follow me, ask me repeatedly if I "need help", or simply just eye me suspiciously. I was offended and despite the beautiful merchandise (we wanted to buy the set of steak knives we saw--we later bought them from Williams and Sonoma) I bought nothing. I want them to starve for business and hopefully eventually go where racism needs to go...away.
