Love this store. I like the new items that come each week and the fact you can order bulk orders online.

In fact, when I'm looking for odds and ends, such as shoe strings, I find Big Lots a good first place to shop. However, when I entered this particular store, and was warmly welcomed by the young man cashier, and asked do you have any shoe strings, he looked disheartened and said, no, he didn't think they carried them. I was shocked. Shocked! I asked, "Well, why do you even stay open?" In other times and other towns, the usual response is either a blank look or a sullen stare. But this young man immediately riposted, "Because we have everything else!" How could I not love a store with an employee like that? In fact, this Big Lots might not have "everything else," since it is, after all, a smaller store than some -- you ought to see the one I shopped at in McKee's Rocks, Pennsylvania -- and in a small market, but it does have a huge variety of items and, above all, it has some of the friendliest, quickest, and brightest employees -- I met the others, too -- I've dealt with anywhere in these United States. I know I'll be returning as often as I can.

I always find everything I was looking for promptly and ease to find displayed. This store is very convenient for me, as it is right around the corner from where I live. Easy walking distance, although I usually drive, if I purchase bulky, heavy items. Items are easy to reach and/or i ask for friendly help, which is always prompt. Never do I find any staff lolligagging (=idling or gossiping in the aisles!!! Just a convenient and fun place to shop those last minute hings at low cost.

I can't get too excited one way or the other about a Dollar General Store. Truth be told, the only…read more"dollar store" I go to regularly is a Dollar Tree that's about a three minute walk from my work, and only because they sell a mysterious 20 oz. can of Diet Coke for ... well, you know. And yet, when my bride and offspring join me sojourning across this great country in our car, and we travel through small 'burgs and 'villes, there is nothing quite as low-brow satisfying as blowing a couple of Andy Jacksons on the abject detritus that fills the shelves of your average Dollar General. Yeah, I know... you NEEDED Oxy-Clean, or PRELL 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, or a five-pack of tube socks, or a fifteen-pack of Big League Chew, or a bag of raffia, or a LOL-doll coloring book, or a 98¢ pregnancy test (I hope it's good news!) But most of the time, we truly don't NEED a blessed thing in this store. Still, we'll blow money here like drunks, buying stuff that would make a Goodwill donation guy blush. And that's OK... because Dollar General is about feeling good, even if exiting the establishment is about buying a Power Rangers mask or a big seasonal hat so no one recognizes you walking out and makes you feel bad. As for this DG, it's a good one-- they have all sorts of stuff. Sure, the prices might head north of a dollar, but it's deeply discounted, and most items have the life expectancy of cut tulips anyway. Honestly, you could probably find a few treasures in here if you really put the work in, sell them on eBay, and double your money. But that reeks of effort, and besides, we're just passin' through, Pardner. Smoke if you got em, but apparently not in front of the building?
