I was in the Woodbury Village shopping center for a Yelp Elite event at Sip Dirty Soda. When I drove up and saw there was also a Daiso, I had to make it one of my stops. I had a really great time browsing this location. It has a fairly large footprint and was well-lit and orderly. Daiso always seems to have a good selection of tempting goodies, and for the most part at very reasonable prices too! In particular I took note that some of the things I might have formerly purchased at Michaels (a craft store that as of late has gotten crappier since their main competition, Joann, went out of business... typical Capitalism move... ugh) are available here, and so in the future when I need craft items, scrapbooking supplies, or stationary, I'll probably make the trip to Daiso to give them my business instead. Also they have lots of fun Hello Kitty branded merch, as one might expect. Converting yen to USD is confusing at first, but they have lots of signage up on the aisles (as well as attached to each shopping basket) to help you. Unmarked items are at a set $2.25, which I'll admit, as someone with a lack of trust in price tags from prior bad experiences at other (non-Daiso) stores, I was anxious about all the way up to the register, watching as each item was scanned and came up at the correct low price (whew...). They even were giving away a free sticker sheet to shoppers who made a purchase. Easy way to win me over is with free stickers (I'm basically an 8 year-old). The employee was friendly to me. At any rate, I left with a lot of fun trinkets for just over $20, which really made my day. Also I was THRILLED to discover that they sell POG (if you know, you know) and other flavor varieties of the Hawaiian juice Aloha Maid. I crave the taste of Hawaii cuz of the lovely vacations I've taken there, but I had no idea you could get it on the mainland at Daiso for $1.50 a can! That's really not a bad price at all under the circumstances. Next time I'm in I'll likely intentionally stock up (yes, I'm a soda hoarder LOL).

Grocery Outlet is a large chain in California that is similar to Mike's -- they're a discount opportunistic grocery that sells items close to expiration/are being discontinued. When we moved back to Minnesota, we were very sad to not have Grocery Outlet anymore. But then, we found Mike's. Mike's is amazing. I'd argue it's even better than Grocery Outlet, and miles above any average grocery store in the cities. The primary draw to Mike's is the pricing -- things are very cheap compared to other grocers. This is possible because they don't have a broad selection and stock items that are close to expiration or being discontinued. It's not uncommon to find things that didn't sell at other stores here. The downside is that they rarely have consistent stock. However, if you have an open mind, you won't be disappointed. There are snacks, frozen items, household goods and even clothes that are very cheap. Lastly, the staff are all very kind and do their best to help. Go here!!!!

Some of the items have met or exceeded the Best Buy date but we all know those dates are generally just a suggestion. I've never had any issues with anything I've ever bought. The prices are also so low you really can't go wrong. The best deal I ever came across here was 12 dozen eggs and 12 pounds of bacon for $50. My Roommate and I split this and it was so worth it. The cereals, crackers, etc are kind of a hit or a miss all depending on what they have in. The paper goods and household type products are similar to big box stores as far as price so I tend to bypass that area. The whole store is worth going through because you can find some hidden deals. Also I recommend liking their Facebook page so you can stay up to date on the current deals and promotions.

I went to buy a ps5 pro with money my father gave me. It was cash and $100 bills and so they did…read morethe marker test. It passed it however, they called in another sales associate to look at it and after they played with the bills for a while they thought one of the ribbons looked funny. They denied it and told me to bring the cash to a bank. I brought the money to USbank and the bills of course were not counterfeit. They have that marker especially to check that but they decided not to trust it and made me run to the bank. I used my debit card so I would not have to make two trips but if they can't accept or tell what real cash is then they need some retraining.

I'm not sure if it is for lack of workers, or if they are just slow checking people out.. but yea, I always get caught in a long line. The skin care area here is actually not bad. I do wish there was a tiny bit more organization and it was not as difficult to find what I'm looking for, but it is what it is. The Holiday decor is usually right up front, so I do appreciate that so I don't need to constantly run to the back to check that out when that is usually all I'm there for anyways.

But be careful because they are sometimes next to each other, so check the price tags. This is my go-to store for holiday candy (kids), stocking & Easter basket stuffers, greeting cards, helium balloons, birthday decor, plastic organizing baskets, gift bags of all sizes, bulk 40ct. white tissue paper, 2-pack tape, duct tape, some seasonal decor, toothpaste, guest toothbrushes, some cleaning items, sunglasses, and craft supplies--all for $1.25! They even have makeup, food, and OTC meds. I made fall and spring wreaths with their fake flowers for about $10 each. They even sell gardening supplies and seeds. Batteries work but I don't think they last as long. Avoid the electronics, unless you are in a pinch for a day; they don't last and sometimes don't work. Avoid the shampoos.
