Frenchy's This…read morelittle gem of a location was told to me by my hairdresser when I asked where she got her slamming purse. She told me Frenchy's $30 bucks. Well you know I was going to check that out. Normally I do not like Frenchy's stores as I really don't like going through tables of cloths. She told me that this really not like that they actually have new items, tag's on as well used. Well off I go right after I get my hair done and to my surprise I see racks of cloths along the sides, off I go. As well there are table of boots still with the tags on for like under $15 bucks nice ones. Purses displayed at the front counter, some of the names are coach as well as XO and reasonable prices. Wallets and even some jewelry. This is a must for all you that love to shop. Big bang for your buck.

Their prices are good, often better than Value Village and even the Salvation Army. The selection varies and you'll have to bin-dig to find that buried gold, but they have something for everyone. From coats, pants, dresses, to jackets and odd & ends. If you like thrift store hopping, you should add this shop to your route map. It's pretty fun and you never know what you'll discover on your treasure hunt through the bins.

So I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into this location and found it to be very spacious, clean and well laid out. I bought a huge bag of low quality socks for $10, which made me pretty happy. Of course, there are the usual rows of low quality, low nutritional value food items...but at those prices its to be expected. They had a few different nick nacks that I found interesting, but they looked very poorly put together, and I'm pretty sure if some of the items you buy cost even 1c, you still wouldn't get your moneys worth. But all of that is just the nature of the Giant Tiger chain and brand, and not the location itself, which I really liked for it's clean, welcoming feel. So if your budget is on a shoestring, I really recommend this GT location.

Although these brands can be a little more, they do carry a great selection. Now on to the fact that this location is has an outlet side. Here I found a lot of summer things, really good prices though. They did have about 4 racks of jeans though and the section is fairly large. I would need more time to look at everything there, there were a few coats I wanted to look at.

So believe me when I tell you, I know a good thrift store when I see one. This place could be a 5 star location if it had a better shoe and bag section. You can tell these two sections are always small, not a lot of space was designated for them. I was so excited to visit a Frenchy's.. A true Frenchy's close to home. I had amazing luck in the sweater department, and honestly it's where I concentrated most of my searching. So I can't tell you how good the shirts or skirt bins where. As you can see from my photos, I found many of my favourite brand names. I was pumped! I went through the dresses and jackets, but came up empty handed. The selection was there, lots to choose from, just nothing to my taste. The store is large enough to keep me coming back. Although it's close, it's not that close. A bit of a drive from downtown to lower Sackville, but I would say it's worth it. The upside is there is lots of parking, I also like that the price of the clothing is listed on the bin labels (see photos). The complete price list is in the fitting rooms Incase you're wondering. Also, the dressing rooms are clean and very large. Large enough to try on the whole store if you like! The whole store is very clean! I can't wait to go back.

My local used bookstore…read more As an avid reader, and a supporter of local stores, this is my first stop when in need for a new/used/different book. The lady who runs/owns the place, is very friendly, and seems to know where, and what everything is. It's amazing, if i am looking for a specific book, she will know if she has it, had it, and if not, she will take you info and try to find it/them for you! Just amazing customer service. I almost always walk out with a few books, but more importantly I always walk in with some to give back. If you haven't been, check it out, support the little folks, and enjoy the coffee shop as well!

My son found a large hardcover book in great shape in the children's section for $8 ($20 new). Small espresso bar at the cash. Taking off a star because the lowest % milk they have is 2%. I get not having skim if you aren't a big place, but at least do 1%. 2% feels like I'm drinking cream and is not good for the waistline either!

We decided to stop in on the way back to pick up bottled water and a couple other things for our hotel room. I stayed in the car while my husband did a quick run in and out. He reported that the store setup seemed weird to him and he spent a lot of time looking for the maple cookies. Cashier was friendly, he just thought the layout of the store was confusing. Hard to comment about the prices because of currency in Canadian and we are from US so everything seems so much cheaper. Posted sign says 2 - 24 pk water for $5. That would be $3.66 U.S. Dollar! Or $1.83 per 24 pls.

If I'm on vacation and I spot a Winners or a Marshalls, I'm going in, haha. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. I saw several items that were selling for more than they were in Ottawa (where I'm living now). Selection was also not great. Things looked like they had been picked over. I walked away empty handed. If I find myself back in the area, I'll still stop in, but definitely would not go out of my way to return to this location. There's lots of free parking in the plaza.

This has always been my "go-to" Sobeys grocery store since it's the closest to home, and also easy…read moreto get to on both the Bedford Highway and Hammonds Plains Rd. Also just a short jaunt off the 102. I am, however, re-evaluating my choice to pick this branch as my default place to buy food, and have found myself more and more using the larger, newer and better stocked Sobeys at the Larry Uteck exit off the 102. But back to this location, access can be a bit of a nightmare during rush hour since both HP rd and the Beford Hwy can get super backed up, and the surrounding intersections become hazardous to say the least when traffic peaks. The inside of the store seems new and bright, though the layout is a bit more confusing than other Sobeys. This could possibly be due to recent renovations, having to overlay a new layout over old infrastructure. Other than that, the staff are super friendly and seem to enjoy working there, which is always a good sign.

Sometimes they dont have everything I need (Artichokes, why are you never here?) but they come pretty darn close. It can be a bit tricky to finds things sometimes, but if you've ever played a point-and-click game, you can usually deduce where everything is. No basil in the the herb section? Check with the tomatoes up front. Can't find the pancake batter? Check with the syrup, not with baking. It's either a fun brain teaser, or a deeply frustrating exercise, depending on your mood. Plus the cashiers are always hilarious, which is always a bonus!

On my most recent visit, however, the gentleman working at the cash register seemed to have a cab driver-like memory and sounded like he knew the store layout like the back of his hand. Iheard numerous customers approach him to ask for random items, and he could give spot on directions right off the bat. This was very impressive, and I could tell he really cared about his job. I also like how clean the store is, and how well organized. Even with all the merchandise loading the shelves, everything seems right in its place. Would definitely recommend.
