Ok, I know it's a wal-mart, I know it's evil, but I also know how much my tuition costs. Get that lowered and then we'll talk about what a horrible person I am for shopping at satan's department store. You could go in here and buy some obscure name brand bread for two dollars, or some shoddy pants that are guaranteed to rip in the crotchial area after the first couple wearings. In my opinion, the fabric/craft section is the only area that's sort-of worth visiting. They've got an ok selection, but their 'low price' policy doesn't transfer to this section for some reason. They do have some ok craft paints at low prices, and a few cheap notions. I heard a rumor that Wal-mart is phasing out all of its craft/fabric sections for some reason. So... enjoy it while it lasts?

Learning the ways of retail, his cuteness is the perfect way to begin this endeavor. What a sweet little shop. Although its been open for about ten years, I'd only recently learned of Wildflower from an acquaintance. Its confines are currently dressed in soft, breathable garments and assuring color palates. (Periwinkle, charcoal, rose pink, nude, and flecks of colour amongst it all!) Its actually a breath of fresh air, and a different variety from other independent boutiques in the area. I was elated to discover the accumulation of Free People frocks, which is probably my favorite [semi] affordable brand of all time. The owner mentioned that they would be getting more in soon-- whoo hoo! The overall stock seems romantic, flowing, and of excellent taste. Cute tops, rich fabrics and cuts are here for the taking. I think its safe to say that Wildflower has Bohemian Romantic down. The owner of the shop offered me genuine conversation and an easy shopping experience. I was the only patron at the time, so we chatted as I browsed. There was no pressure, no facade-- just good conversation and a shop full of wonders. After much swooning and chit-chat, I know this is a boutique I can dig. Besides the clothes, there were also some pretty neat accessories. I'd say the owner of Wildflower has a great eye. Understated, funky, classic and bohemian looks are all fused into one cohesive collection. All you need is a paycheck. xo

This store is pretty tiny though and they do manage to have a reasonably sized sale section. Very nice staff! Check out the hand bags! Expensive but just the right size: Big enough to carry your laptop, sweater and a few grocery items without looking as though you carry your home on your back like a snail. Mainly leather too! Really the only downside to Wildflower is the cost but check them out for their sale rack and accessories!

Me and the boyfriend were at the Halifax location today looking for shorts for him. Not only dis we find him a few pairs (Extra 50% off too!) and a pair of jeans (30% off) I found a few cute summer tops (both less than ten bucks!!). I debated spending a little longer looking through the store because of the amazing sales they had on practically the whole store but we were pressed for time. What I really wanted to comment on though was the phenomenonal customer service. The guy who was helping us was just delightful. He was helpful and pleasant without being too pushy or fake like many retail sales people can tend to be. I've had him be the person helping me several times at this location and I always come away in just the best mood. This guy is what customer service is. I meant to catch his name but forgot (according to my receipt he was cashier 42393 in case any bootlegger higher ups are wondering). I will definitely be back to this store!!

Besides jeans, this store has a selection of tops and sweaters, though I should mention they are not the best suited for wallflowers- they can be sorta "out there". Items here have a fairly hefty price tag- but there are some sales racks inside the store. Personally, I find myself uninspired by many of the discounted items, but Nonetheless it's worth a peek. Any time i've been to Bootlegger, there are always a ton of staff working here; often there are so many that some wind up kinda sorta standing around. Can't really blame them, the store is almost always immaculately kept. Plus it gives them the opportunity to chime in on whether an item would look better in teal or plum, or if a certain pair of jeans make you look like you have a gangsta booty. The staff are a friendly bunch, that's for sure

Or as my husband would say "it a place for hippies." They had lots of cool sterling silver jewelry from Thailand. The prices were quite reasonable too. They had lots of earrings and bracelets in the $10-$25 range. I really didn't look at much else in the store, but they had beads, wooden knick knacks, pillows, and clothing that looked like they were from Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand, among other things. I loved these kinds of stores in my middle school and high school years, but it's not quite my aesthetics anymore, with the exception of the jewelery, because I still love sterling silver, it's the most suitable metal for my colouring. I had a great time browsing their large jewelery section. I almost bought the cutest bracelet, but it was a tad too big for me :( Staff were very nice. I always stop by when I'm in Halifax to poke around a bit, and be reminded of my style as a teenager, lol.

I actually bought by skin care line here at a fraction of the price I pay at Shoppers Drug Mart. I was very surprised to see it here. They have a huge organized section now, two rows of wonderfully displayed products, from hair care , skin care and perfumes. I have always bought my hair products at Winners, you just get such a great value, and why not buy here. I usually, as much as possible shop at Winners, the cloths in the Boutiques, and downtown Halifax, are over priced. They cater to the tourists. Not really where I want to spend my money. I am all for supporting the local companies, but if I can't afford to shop there, I have to go where I can get quality brand names at a fraction of the cost.
