We took the dolphin watch/snorkeling tour. Seven in our group and 4 in the other. We appreciated the small tour size and the personal attention from Jesse and Jacqueline. Both were so knowledgeable and it was clear they were both passionate about their research. The boat was eco friendly as were the reusable water bottles. Highly recommend. (This isn't a booze cruise. My birthday wish this year was to A. See dolphins in the wild and B. See wild manatees and both happened on this trip. Unfortunately dolphins are speedy little devils and I didn't get a shot but I saw his with my own two eyes and that makes me happy. Mary and Jesse were great and made the trip lovely. They prepared a nice veg platter (not pictured) and a fruit platter after we snorkeled which was much needed. They also provide water. This was my first time snorkeling and I had a blast. I have a full face snorkel and man that made snorkeling much easier cause I could breath normally. They also have all the snorkel gear if you don't. We saw lot of beautiful sea life and corals thanks to the help of our guide Jesse who hopped in the water with us and pointed out all the cool fish. I swam right over a massive sting ray without realizing nearly had a heart attack lol. Best believe I prayed to the Steve Irwin gods to protect me lol (r.i.p Steve Irwin your a legend) they are very knowledgeable and care for what they do. At the end we were able to scan a QR code to see the pictures Jesse took off his go pro which he says he updates which is great. My family and I (including my 8 year old daughter) had such a spectacular day with Honest Eco dolphin and snorkeling experience. It was an amazing experience, and they are truly demonstrating that sustainable eco-tourism is possible. I cannot imagine experiencing the beauty of the Keys any other way. Details of the trip: We got so lucky and saw the most playful dolphin group and a mama and baby pair. The dolphins came right up to our boat. Snorkeling was fantastic. Using the new snorkel gear they provided, we clearly saw all the marine life, including tropical fish, lobsters, crabs, rays, and an eel. I cannot say enough positive things about Captain Sarah and Alan. They were so knowledgeable, authentic, welcoming, and tons of fun. Captain Sarah even gave my daughter a mini sailing lesson. My husband and I are prone to sea sickness, but with a little Dramamine, we were a-ok. The whole experience was true to their mission of being sustainable -- the boat was thoughtfully designed, they provided reusable water bottles, and we ate organic snacks on board. There are a lot of different type of excursions to be had in the keys. If you are the type that likes a large boat with lots of people drinking and playing loud music then this isn't the tour for you, but if you want to experience what it is like to go out with a local to observe dolphins and other beautiful ocean life in its natural environment then this is the tour for you. Your group is limited to 6, and the boat is a simple catamaran with a full size bathroom and plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable. Our captain was Rob, and he was a friendly guy with plenty of helpful, knowledgeable info about dolphins, the keys, snorkeling, and even bars and restaurants (seriously he gives great insider tips!). We did a morning tour that lasts about 4 hours where you go out to spots they know where Dolphins tend to congregate. Since they are in the wild there is no guarantee on how many or what you will see, but we saw over 30 different dolphins on our trip. He knows many of them and their stories of how they might have a certain scar, or nick on their fin - many even have common names. After spending a while observing the dolphins sleeping, playing, swimming, etc.. Rob took us to a beautiful snorkeling spot where we spots schools of different types of fish, hermit crabs, and even a couple of sharks (harmless ones). Rob goes back early and cuts up some fresh fruit for the group while you continue snorkeling if you like. With the remaining time we find more dolphins as we make our way back to shore. It was a incredible day and it felt as if we became friends with a local that took us out on his boat. Highly recommend this tour. read more

The staff and ship's crew were excellent, the weather wonderful and views underwater well worth the 1/2 day adventure. The Eco side of our trip included a sea-worth ship powered primarily by solar! Snack choices were very much on the nutritious side and ship's personnel took time to explain using a large relief map what the terrain was like under the waters we motored over. NOT your typical over-crowded experience! Plenty of dolphin viewing, manta rays, huge grouper and exciting surprises like barracuda, sharks and more. read more

I highly recommend the dolphin watch and snorkeling trip with honest echo. Billy and Brady were great. They explain where we're going. The land a bunch of the biology of the area. Everything about the trip is amazing. The boat is an electric boat. Very quiet. We found dolphins and hung out with them for a solid 30 minutes. I've had better snorkeling, but I think it has more to do with Key West then the trip itself. I highly recommend these guys. read more

Captain Sarah and Allen gave us a tour that was the unequivocal highlight of our trip. Allen is extremely knowledgeable and good at sharing the science of the area and it's wildlife in a digestible and welcoming way, and he was so eager to answer people's questions in a thoughtful and informative way that made us feel more connected to the things that we were seeing (so much wildlife!) It is also clear that Captain Sarah is a pro, who expertly navigated us to the most prime dolphin and snorkeling spots. We saw more than 20 dolphins, who swam along with our boat for a long while (they know Captain Sarah's boat and clearly trust her and Allen). The snorkeling was so fun, with Allen swimming around to answer questions and point out things underwater that we might have missed, including a Moray eel and conch. On our ride, Allen provided fresh fruit throughout, as well as ice water. The views were spectacular, the education was thorough but not overbearing, and the ride was very enjoyable, even for people in our party who are a little uncomfortable on boats. Also, we saw about 100 white pelicans flying in a beautiful pod, sharks, turtles, fish and obviously the dolphins. Best of all, because of the focus on sustainability by the crew at Honest Eco, I did not fear my tourist presence in this unique space was as damaging as it could be. My wife and I really had a great time with Stefanie. It is our first time visiting wild dolphin, and learned a lot about sea birds and walking trees. We even encountered with a super large turtle when we were looking for dolphins. After all of these wonderful creatures, the four happy dolphins playing around our boat made the most of our happiness and laughter of our 3-days trip at key-west. Besides the wonderful trip we had, the other thing I want to mention is that, we dropped our brace-let on deck before we left the boat. It is our wedding gift which means a lot to us. Stefanie found it for us the next day and send it to us very soon. Dolphin Watch is sooooo great. My spouse, our teenage daughter and I went on a dolphin watch excursion with Captain Rob. We had an absolutely phenomenal time! Can't rate the Dolphin Watch tour company highly enough!! We saw lots of playful dolphins. Rob made sure we all saw them, and that we saw plenty of dolphins. The boat only allows 6 guests, so we only had another family of 3 (also with a teenage daughter) on our tour. The experience was so personalized, and Rob is to thank for that. He was absolutely attentive to us and made us feel included throughout the excursion. He would point out the dolphins, give us some background on them (lucky him, he gets to see dolphins twice a day and really gets to know them all), and we also got some education from him about the dolphin behavior. During the snorkeling he made sure we all felt comfortable; he provided flotation devices if needed (which I did need since I'm a fretful swimmer and freak out a little bit in open water without something nearby - like a pool wall - if I got tired while swimming). Rob checked on everyone and was out in the water with us for the first half of snorkeling. He found some cool things in the water (like a big conch and other items) and would point them out. He'd call to us by name (again, he personalized the event for us and remembered all of our names), to show us the cool stuff. We had a refreshing fruit tray once we finished snorkeling. Then we did a little site seeing around Key West, again learning some cool history facts and seeing awesome sites. During the excursion we were free to move around the boat, which wasn't too much of a problem. He made sure to inform us on the safest way to move around. We were able to get up front, or move to the back of the boat to get the best sights of the dolphins. If you love dolphins, see them in the WILD where they are meant to be seen. Skip the dolphinariums and swim-with-dolphin programs. "No aquarium, no tank in a marine land, however spacious it may be, can begin to duplicate the conditions of the sea. We recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon aboard the Patty C with CPT Rob. During our week long trip to the Keys - my wife and I think that this was probably the highlight of the vacation. Per the previous posts - arrive about 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time in order to find a parking space. Their is a parking lot to the rear of the dock where the boat is moored. If you arrive during the week - parking is not issue. On the weekends, the parking lot gets full so you may need some additional time. The boat, the Patty C is clean and in good working order. A plus for those that don't want to break down. While on board, there is ample space for relaxing, dolphin watching or to just get into a shaded cabin to rest. Captain Rob is a true professional - friendly, personable and very knowledgeable. The trip felt like a bunch of friends getting together for an afternoon on the water rather than a chartered event. read more

Great trip out with John today. It's a very private experience. My family was with 2 other ladies and it was a total of 6 including the driver(John) and it was very comfortable. Plenty of space to lay out and soak up some sun. John took us to a great spot to see about 16-20 dolphins. Many baby dolphins and they were all very cute. The snorkeling came after and we went to a great spot and saw many different types of fish and sea creatures. There was complementary water bottles (cold) and fruit(bananas, pineapple and watermelon mainly). It was perfect weather and it was a wonderful day. I also went on another snorkeling trip and it was not as good as this one. The snorkeling spot is perfect, meaning you see many sea creatures and you are fairly close to everything. The other snorkeling company I was on took me to a snorkeling spot that was nice, but the problem with that spot was it was very deep water and it was hard to see certain animals as they were closer to the bottom on the sea floor. John's spot was great and he will swim out with you and point out what things are, so if you don't know what something is you can ask him. read more

We just got back from our half day excursion with Dolphin Watch. booked with Dolphin Watch because my husband and I like going out with a smaller outfitter that will make our excursion more private and special. Captain John is a wonderful and knowledgeable guide who knows where the dolphins hunt and play, he understands their habits and respects their habitat. He treated my 10 year old twins with care and engaged their curiosity. We saw so many dolphins (many have been named), we saw a mother with a baby swimming underneath her, we watch one dolphin with a houndfish- they toss it around like a dog with a ball, we learned they do this because the houndfish have very sharp teeth and the dolphin has to get positioned just right before he tries to swallow it. A couple dolphins swam right between the pontoons of the boat, looked up at us and sprayed us. John told us to listen for the dolphins talking and sure enough we could hear their whistling and clicking sounds. After snorkeling on a beautiful reef, with NO other people around us, we then went hunting for sea turtles (we had never seen one before). He found a lagerhead for us to watch...great! We saw so much, we learned so much and we were all thrilled. Thanks John for the experience my family will remember forever! I hope we can do this again with you in the future. read more
