We had a great experience on the half day snorkel/kayak trip. Our family of 10, ages 17and up, loved the adventure, history and crew. The crew went above and beyond to connect with every member of the group. We could not have asked for a better way to spend our day. It was the highlight of our trip.

We went out 4/13/2026 on Capt Ana's maiden voyage as Capt. She was wonderful! Extremely knowledgeable! Morgan was fun, gave a lot of history. Connor was awesome. Very mixed bunch of patrons and they all gave the level attention each person needed. We did the sail, snorkel, kayak sunset cruise. Worth every penny!

So my wife booked the afternoon snorkel and kayak and home at sunset. 330 to 8pm ish on the Danger, we got in a little after 830pm due to navigating around low water. Captain Joe and hands Jack and Rocky....did not disappoint. I will say...full moon tomorrow and low tide...DANG it was low....and the worked harder and more time to get us the trip they promised. So don't fret low tide, they get it done either way, just a little more navigation effort. I have to say, I felt a little uncomfortable being waited on so much...just not used to it. The crew was constantly checking on everyone, for water, or adult drinks. They had fresh fruit out before we went snorkeling for the ride.....and on the way back after kayaking humus and chips. They feel like guys we'd be friends with, and not used to having friends wait on us hand and foot, ha. The ride out, always amazes me how much they know and tell you about the habitat...and mid sentence Jack would say "Oh, and there's a large Sea Turtle" We'd all ooh and ahh...and right back into the history of the park. So cool, and well done. My kids, even older, just amazed to see those turtles. I'm a certified diver and dove all over the world, and the snorkeling was still fun. My wife and daughter aren't used to it, and they were patient with them and everyone on the boat. Rocky went farther off the boat to see more of the coral and sea life...and my son (in the Army Infantry but loves water ha) was with him and saw it all. The Kayaking, a couple wanted to go all the way back and get their camera, and the guides were patient and went with for safety, all good. Again, with low tide there was navigating to be done, but they got us in on the island, and a tunnel area of deeper water...again they spotted a sea turtle for us. My daughter and I in our Kayak got a great view. I would recommend Polarized Glasses, you absolutely need them to see through the glare on the water in my opinion. The ride back was awesome, great music and adult drinks for the older....and the sunset, as you can see, was perfect. Got one pic with Captain Joe too, ha. Just have to say thanks, and if you're looking for a great outing on the water, this group is 100% top notch.

Danger is the ONLY way to experience Sunset! This is our third time. Great people, great food, and great drinks! We won't come to Key West without a trip with Danger!

We did the sunset private cruise out of Oceans Edge resort. We wanted to do something a little different. Evan was a great captain - we had an awesome cruise and sunset!

This was our second wind and wine sunset sail with danger charters and it was incredible. Everyone in our group had the best time. Captain Logan and crew Savannah and Morgan were the sweetest and kept our cups filled with delicious wine! Highlight of our Key West weekend.

Staff were great, friendly and attentive. The sailing was enjoyable at sunset and they provided 8 wine varieties to sample. If you didn't want a red or a white, they offered your drink of choice instead. Nice and relaxing way to close the day.

    Vegetarian food options?

There were some fruit & cheese hors d'oeuvres but also meat and cheese so I suppose you could just give the non-vegetarian bites to a friend or a family with you on the sail?

Is there enough time to take a full day excursion at 10am if you arrive at the cruise port by 9am? I'm cruising with Royal Caribbean and not sure I have time to make it by 10am?

Nancy thanks for reaching out. To answer your question you should have time to make it. Check in is at 9:30 but the boat doesn't leave until 10am. If you are docked at Pier B we are located right in front of it so it is only a few minutes walk to… Read more

A couple weeks before our trip we reserved a center console from Boat Rentals of Key West for 8 hours. On the day of the rental we arrived at their office in the Marina at Downtown Key West. The staff was courteous and gave us all the needed instructions we would need for the day. The boat was clean, gassed up and ready to go. We had a blast exploring the area and reefs around Key West. The Boat performed and ran great. Me and my wife have rented boats before and never have we encountered a staff as professional and courteous as the people working at Boat Rentals of Key West and their boats are in very good condition and obviously well maintained. In the future, we will be back to Key West and we will only rent a boat from Boat Rentals of Key West. Thanks again for the great service. Our boat rental was the highlight of our key West trip.

I never leave bad reviews, but in this case it was absolutely necessary. - "Boat Rentals of Key West" is a broker, but does not disclose at time of booking. After making a deposit on phone, we were sent to pickup our boat at a place called "Paradise Boat Rentals" at Murray Marine on Stock Island. - We arrived at Paradise Boat Rentals at 1pm where final payment was charged. Upon which, the owner "Rocky" recommended he guide us through the narrow channels to main water. Very shallow area that surrounded the location. - When we hit open waters, Rocky waived us through and we were on our way. 35 minutes later, the boat broke down. From 1st contact, it took them 3 hours to come assist us. - By 5:15pm, we had everything swapped over to a replacement boat. We used this replacement boat to tow Rocky 45 minutes closer to KW (out of courtesy). - It was cloudy, windy and the water was very choppy that day, not to mention, we were in a flat bottom deck boat. It was extremely rough to say the least, and we still had to make it back to Murray on Stock Island. - By 6:45pm we could barely see. We realize at this time, the replacement boat has NO lights and NO navigation device. My wife calls Rocky on his cell, and explained we were about 500 yards from his marina, but needed an assist due to no lights or nav - it was not safe trying to navigate the narrow channels without someone experienced with such area. He begins screaming at her and accusing us of being intoxicated. I get on the phone and he begins cursing "I know what F...n games you are playing", "I'm not coming to help you", "Just wait until you get here and see who you are messing with", etc, etc. I explain to him that 3 of us on the boat, including driver had not taken 1 sip of alcohol that day. - At this point, due to the situation and the threats from Rocky, we pulled over to a bulk-headed area and called the local authorities. They agreed we should not drive the boat as it was very dangerous to do so without lights. They then helped return the boat and coordinated our vehicle pickup from Murray. At 9:30pm, we were finally returning to our hotel. - We are now going through the channels of dispute with our credit card company for right at $400 in charges (from both this broker and Paradise rentals)! Rant over. Proceed with caution.

The day we went, the waves were pretty choppy. I got in the water and panicked. Kelly, our guide, expertly made sure I got back to the boat. Spencer, our dive master, helped me up and reassured me the whole time. I got to spend the next couple hours hanging out with Spencer and robin (the captain), which honestly, was a great time. What I loved is how committed they were to safety, and also making me feel valid in my decision to abort the dives. My partner successfully completed two dives and had a fantastic experience with Kelly guiding him. If/when we're back in key west again for diving, we will definitely book with Lost Reef again!!

Lost Reef Adventures...the worst dive shop that I have encountered in 30 years of scuba diving…read more The negatives: The owner, Nick, was extremely unfriendly to the point of being hostile. He had a serious attitude problem and had no idea what the concept of "customer service" meant. He just stares at you, waiting for you to say something...it's really creepy. After telling us to show up at 7:00 for the morning dives, no one from the shop bothered to show up until 7:45. The crew was only okay. The dive master acted like this was an annoyance to be taking us out on a dive...like he just wanted to get this over and done with. He just swam around for 45 minutes until it was time to re-board. The boat pilot told us, "We're not leaving the dock until you get your gear ready." There was one guy (with a mullet and ear rings) that was pretty cool and very helpful. The equipment was fair, but had some issues. The first tank that I hooked up to only had 1200 psi, turns out that 1/4 of the tanks onboard had previously been used and not removed or refilled. The fact that they all had the rubber covers on the valve (indicating a fresh tank) made it very confusing as to which tank to use. My dive buddy's regulator was inoperable. The dives were fair at best. I guess Key West really isn't that great for sea life when compared to the USVI or Belize, buy the dive master didn't even bother to point out sea life. EVERY dive I've been on in 30 years had a dive master that took pride in his/her job and did their best to point out - things to see - during the dive. I told the travel office on the base at Sigsbee not to recommend them. There are vastly superior shops like Southpoint Divers and Captain's Corner that will give you a much more pleasant experience. I dove with Southpoint on all of my subsequent dives in Key West. The positives: The boat was great - lotsa space for everyone, safety equipment was plentiful, and the safety briefing was well done. As I mentioned before, one of the crew (lives in Roatan, Honduras and was visiting his daughter) was very helpful but unfortunately, he was the exception. The BCDs, masks, and fins were fine. There's not really anything else positive that came out of my experiences. Do yourself a favor and use one of the other dive shops in Key West.
