My child has had about 7 lessons here. His instructor is very patient and caring as my child is…read morenervous and not quite comfortable with the water on his face, but that's the whole point of lessons right?! Once when my child's instructor was out, Mr.Charles was a sub, and I noticed him scolding my child a few times to stop playing with the water. Understandable that children need to listen but at the same time these are toddlers that lack complete understanding especially when your asking them to stop Playing with water. I didn't appreciate that, so if it happens again I will raise concerns with management. I believe there is a better way to handle children than making a stern face and asking them to stop. When he (Mr, Charles) noticed I was looking, he made a calm face really quickly. Next issue is that I've noticed more frequently, the waiting guests some of them have 0 people skills. They leave their bags on chairs and walk away for long periods. This is unfair to other waiting parents who would like to sit up front to watch their kids. I think there should be signage posted everywhere that if anyone gets up for any reason, they need to take their belongings with them or leave them in the cubbies at the back.

Decided to register my second child for swimming lessons in the Glen Oaks location because it is closer to home for us, but they lack a lot. For one, no one here answers the phone when you call. Ever. You are responded to via text and it just seems so impersonal and responses are heavily delayed. The first time I took my second child, we were never greeted or told what to do had to figure it out on our own, despite letting them know it was our child's first day. Staff seems distracted and just there for the job. We never received the complimentary Goldfish bag with accessories that you'd usually receive as a first time member nor were there anyone to walk us and show us the facility. My child was in a single swimming lane with 2 instructors for the 4 students. They had kids swimming together and it was a tight squeeze and to me, just an inefficient way to learn to swim as the young students needed to maneuver around the other student. I will not be renewing my membership here... willing to drive the additional 15 minutes for better quality of service. Impersonal, no phone answering services and absentminded staff.. oh and dirty diapers left behind in changing rooms. This goldfish seems to be run by young minds who do not understand the importance of customer service and attention to customers.

We've tried a few other places, of which my overall impression was pretty poor, but look, I'm not expecting them to start lap swimming before they're 5 years old - that being said, I like how the student to instructor ratio is low (1:4 at the most - I taught in the town of hempstead and would do 15-20 kids to myself regularly) how it's separated and the instructors themselves. Today was my last straw, I actually had to talk to a different instructor just to get my daughter a swim instructor. It's unprofessional and it was eating into our swim time. The private class is a significant cost and for it to be wasted like that was very disappointing.I get it once in a blue moon because life happens but almost every class is ridiculous. We noticed the parent after our class was furious at the poolside too because he had the same issue. The same instructor wasn't there, no notification of our instructor being absent and no one to guide him with a new instructor. They sell some swim suits & toys. Plus snacks. The staff are kind & friendly. I highly recommend this establishment if your child is interested in learning how to swim and/or improve.
