Overall, I'm giving this place a good review because I do like majority of the swim instructors and want to give them credit for it. The place is clean and my daughter does enjoy swimming. However, I do hope management will read this. We had to switch our swimming instructor because she was constantly late or absent where my daughter was switching to a substitute all the time. There was a time where we were just standing there waiting for someone to sub in or trying to figure out if she was going to come or not. Today was my last straw, I actually had to talk to a different instructor just to get my daughter a swim instructor. It's unprofessional and it was eating into our swim time. The private class is a significant cost and for it to be wasted like that was very disappointing.I get it once in a blue moon because life happens but almost every class is ridiculous. We noticed the parent after our class was furious at the poolside too because he had the same issue. The same instructor wasn't there, no notification of our instructor being absent and no one to guide him with a new instructor. After talking to a few parents, this specific instructor does this often. We spoke to a couple of managers regarding her tardiness in the past and nothing was done about it. My husband tried to calm me down and we gave her the benefit of the doubt for 4-5 months. Really disappointed with Saf-T Swim Little Neck, especially management. First, my daughter's instructor was absent way too often. My six year old did not want to swim with a sub she wasn't familiar with so we ended up with a bunch of makeup tokens; half of which were wasted because her instructor wasn't available so we couldn't schedule makeup sessions in time. I called to complain about the expired tokens and was given back my last two. I did speak to a nice rep who helped me schedule four make-up sessions for May, but of course her instructor called out absent for the second class. After that I felt like so much money was wasted that I just wanted to be done with Saf-T Swim. While sorting out my account, not only did I noticed a pending charge of $400 for June (way more than the usual monthly tuition), I also saw a credit for $240. I contacted Saf-T Swim to get the credit back. However, after submitting the request through customer service, management call led me and I was told that they "didn't want to nickel and dime" me but the credit was there so that we would start classes up back in June. How does that make sense when they had already up-charged me in February? So not only was I already charged more than my usual payment, they also added a pending charge of $400 for June AND wanted to keep the $240 credit that was posted to my account. So ridiculously expensive and extremely poor management. If you do decide to join, be sure to keep a very close eye on your account and charges. Still waiting to hear back about the $400 charge from February but have now noticed they removed the pending $400 charge for June, removed the $240 credit AND replaced it with a $240 pending charge due May 25th (today is May 18th) when we're not even customers anymore?! This is not nickle and diming, it's outright stealing. read more

New clean facility, good friendly instructors and safety measures in place, private changing rooms. Chris is my child's instructor, and he's wonderful and patient. You can view the swim lessons from large windows or on CCTV cameras in the waiting room. There's a children's play area with cartoons playing on TV and some basic amenities like a keurig coffee maker you can use for free. My main complaint is it's located in the lower level, so you get like no cell signal AND they don't have guest WiFi, so if you need to take an important call or respond promptly to a text or email, you have to walk upstairs and not be able to keep an eye on your child. I agree strongly with the previous review of the $35 "annual fee". We originally signed up to start on the beginning of opening date which kept getting pushed back months. While waiting we started in the uniondale location and her assigned instructor was GREAT! Then after starting in Little Neck I felt she was going backwards instead of progressing but my daughter is 5 so I didn't want to keep changing her instructors. On December 13, we get a call stating that her instructor didn't catch her flight so she would be placed with a substitute. I said no to that. On December 20, after her class her instructor tells us she no longer will be teaching my daughter's class and introduced another male instructor that will be taking over. By this time I was very disappointed that no one notified me that the instructor would change last minute! I spoke with the front desk to change her day and time with a better instructor. The process I felt intimidated when the manager stepped in and was basically saying I'm pushing my daughter? All I wanted was a instructor that my daughter can progress with but ok.. I told my husband and he was angry! He told me to withdraw. Besides this, the facility is not complete! I was already contemplating because there is no shower in this location so I would have to quick dry the chlorine water wrap her around in layers and fly home. Well she got a bad cold after the 20th and now I was pissed. So I call and they tell me because I didn't notify by the 15th I can only get 50% refund. Her class was supposed to start January 8. I stuck through with them even when they had pushbacks and they want to charge me 50% when its specifically their fault that the instructor warned us day of shes no longer going to be there??? This is really not a great business tactic! I was thinking of coming back during summer but I don't think so anymore! read more

In July 2022, we signed up our daughter for a 1 week swim class for $180. It was paid via a gift card and subsequently the opening of the Little Neck location was delayed, I don't think its even opened yet. Initially they tried to refund onto the card but the refund didn't work. I have asked for the last 4 months for a refund via check and I get the run around from the staff. A "supervisor" by the name of Reginald was supposed call us and inevitably a week passes and no calls. I was able to find Reginald's email and he has told me that their DM/GM is supposed to contact me, but none has happened. This place is dis-organized and the no one takes responsibility. Mailing a check or writing a check for the refund should not be so difficult. Terrible business, go elsewhere please. read more

Are you here because you were charged a SECOND $35 "ANNUAL fee" for the SECOND time in THREE MONTHS? Do you find this billing process confusing? Bad/unacceptable/terrible/sh*tty/disastrous/awful business practice? Well, you're definitely not alone...Let's break this sh*tshow down... 1) Original opening date was set for April 2022. My kid and I pre-registered early in 2022 (once we heard news of their LN location) and were immediately charged for the first annual fee of $35. Lo and behold, we would get a monthly (which then turned to weekly) emails on delayed opening day. I'm not sure how it was possible but their "opening" day was continually delayed for SIX MONTHS until November 2022. Keep in mind the first "annual fee" was already charged. 2) December 2022 rolls around and these blood s*ckers charged a SECOND "annual fee". YET ANOTHER "ANNUAL FEE". I think they're confused what "annual fee" even means. At this point, I've been served beyond too much bullsh*t. I'm through with the "annual fee" card. $35 isn't where I'm caught up, it's the dam principle. How are you going to charge your customers TWO "annual fee" when a whole annual year hasn't even passed? Someone please pull up a dictionary for these guys... read more

The location is new and clean. Swimming instructors my daughter has are all great. However the management and the customer service are rather on the poor side. My daughter has been swimming there for two months. She had four different instructors. As a parent, I am naturally curious with what is going on with the high staff turnover. For the first two times, the receptionist told us they went on vacation and had sick leave. We figured out both are lies. Then third and forth times happened. When I questioned, I was told by the customer services girl who called me that you would not be given an answer. All I could tell you is that your instructor is adjusted. Then the call ended. I also agree with other parents' review about the annual fee. There must be a lot of challenges when opening a new location or a new business. But at any time honesty and transparency are the best policies when facing your customers! read more

We've been with Saf-T-Swim Little Neck since it was expected to open, starting lessons with Joon in the summer temporarily at Garden City, then at the Little Neck location when it finally opened. The Little Neck location is amazing in many ways. The facilities are clean and kid-oriented, from the toddler tables / chairs in the lobby, to the colorful changing rooms and kid-friendly designs. The pool is well designed, large enough to allow for many private lessons to take place without interfering with each other. There are many shower stalls and even a blow dryer station, which has been great during the winter. The staff is friendly, accommodating, and very interesting of children. They are also helpful to the parents, guiding us through understanding the billings / credits, as well as how to navigate the app to schedule makeup sessions. Improvements are constantly being made from improved flow of students leaving and coming into the pool, as well as changes in the curriculum to focus even more on water safety. My daughter has gained so much confidence in the water, and in less than a year, she has learned to propel herself from the wall and swim to the instructor, floating on her own, and even turning from front to back position. BEAUTIFUL facility. Definitely well worth the wait. Opening day, NOVEMBER 4th, was a HIT!! Everyone was so friendly and they were incredibly helpful with signing up. Everyone seemed to really know the program inside and out. I have high hopes for this place and wish them nothing but the best! If you have the opportunity to stop in and see the facility, definitely ask for a tour and see what they're all about! From what I understand they teach as young as TWO MONTHS. This location has had its fair share of challenges prior to their grand opening which made me contemplate moving forward with this establishment. However, his instructor makes up for the negatives. Carlos is a fantastic instructor. My son absolutely enjoys waking up on Saturdays in anticipation of his swim lesson with Carlos. My son started his lesson in November of last year and has made significant progress thus far. Carlos' lessons are structured and informative. Most important of all, he makes sure that my son is comfortable and confident in the water. He genuinely has fun with his instructor! read more

We absolutely love this location! Our son has been in here since it opened in November. He has the most amazing instructor who has allowed his love for the water to continue. I enjoy watching Mr Chris, our instructor, bond with our child as he learns how to swim safely. The app also makes it easy to sign up for makeup classes by instructor as well! My daughter has learnt a lot with her one on one sessions with coach Reggie. He's very knowledgeable at what he does and has a way with the kids where they are excited to learn. Matthew Ng started with lessons in Uniondale with Caden. We had Gaby for 1 make up lesson. Once they opened at Little Neck, we've had Joon. The manager, Felix & staff at this location are very kind and helpful. They would call & email to let me know if my son's usual instructor is not available. My son is happiest in the water, which is why we continued classes in the Winter. Joon is very patient and make lessons fun for him. Sometimes Matthew does get upset when his lesson is over. This location charges $80 for 1:1 lessons for 30 mins. It is pricer than the other locations in LI. I wished it was 45 min - 1 hr lessons for that price. They refused to charge me less for month of March for lessons even though I have a make up class from February. So, they charged me $400 instead of the usual $320 since there is 5 weeks in March. We only have 3 months to make up lessons. The facilities are nice with private changing room, bathrooms, 3 blowdryers, spin machine for swimsuits, water fountains & free coffee. However, I do not like that they have open showers. I cannot give my son a proper shower before heading home. We change his clothes, dry his hair and rush home to bathe him. The party rooms in the back are kinda of small and gets very hot. read more

Place is amazing, clean, new, a little pricey but it gets my child going and the one on one definitely helps. One thing is some of their instructors need to learn how to work with different kind of children. My daughter has an amazing teacher but my son went for 2 lessons, 2 different teachers (not sure why) but the first was amazing, had patience and understanding, the 2nd lesson, the guy looked like he couldn't wait until the 30 min was over, my son was crying and not having it. Kept trying to have him do stuff he didn't want to do. Some of the instructors should really learn how to deal with different type of kids and how to not make them scared of getting into the pool. Ended up cancelling my sons swim lessons, now he's scared to take a bath and screams when he goes in the shower. read more

Most people are friendly there and teachers are working hard. However, a few times I called (516) 893-4820 because my girl was goin through the time of the month. We couldn't make it. The woman on the other side of the phone saying we can't get a makeup. Her voice was cold and didn't want to be bothered. This woman has no idea what's like swimming in water while she has the blob during the shark week. What is she? No emotions, no understanding, no equity, unfair and lacks empathy for girls and women. She said it's companies policy. The company treats girls and boys the same on this matter, but do boys have period each month? Are they pretending that girls' matter is not there? Boys don't need to take a day off.... So girls got penalized for being girls. The company needs to change!! Why do parents pay for the classes and makeup is not allowed for girls? The company's policy makes it like a competition prep for Olympic athletes. Not family oriented. Don't feel the vibe there for families and girls. No warmth there. What's even worse there is the person there spreading the rumor about me! The teacher blocked multiple times when I was taking pictures of my child. It's cold and narrow minded. Ignorant.
