I called ahead to get an exact quote and was told $400 for four tires out the door everything included. I told them my year make and model and tire size. When I got there they said it's $160 a tire, and then there was $50 tax. My total was $571. Wound up paying almost $170 more for only THREE tires and he said it was the best he could do. I bought a full set of tires from here end of May 26. The were to change all old tire valves, which was written on the invoice. Today one tire was half flat. I drove it to my local mechanic that I have used for years. The valve was causing the air leak and it definitely was not changed by Tire Discount. I called and spoke with Charles, who was a nightmare to deal with! He was speaking over me and expected me to drive out to him. I offered to send a pic of the valve that was removed by my mechanic but he would not accept that. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!! read more

Unfortunately, my schedule didn't allow me to bring my wife's car in for a soon to expire inspection. So, my wife brought her car in to Tire Discount Center Tire Pros. Well, they suckered my wife, telling her they could not pass the inspection because of the windshield wipers were bad. She was pushed into purchasing a new set of wipers from them or else they were going to fail her inspection. These wipers were changed a couple of months ago. My wife took the old wipers home. I can tell someone peeled the end of one wiper and bent the metal support in the second wiper. I know inspections make them little to no money, but THAT was a pathetic move. BE WARNED. read more

Good and quick service. It's right off Hempstead Tpke. I pulled in but in-front of the garage but the workers just waved no and pointed to the side. I didn't notice the signs that said not to block the front which was my mistake. I parked the car to the side, walked in and told the young lady in the front I had a leak in my back tire due to a nail. She asked driver or rear and I responded the rear tire. She took the keys and told me to have a seat. The cost of getting the tire plugged was $22. I waited 15-25 minutes and it was ready. I paid inside and the gentlemen that worked on my car also filled the air for the other 3 tires as it was low. Once done he walked away and didn't say anything or look my way which was unusual. Would think he was communicate the car is good to go. I waited a few minutes and saw he started working on something else. So I figured it was done since nothing else was left to do and I left. I would suggest being a bit more communicative. There was only one person who was very communicative with customers and he may have been the owner or manager. I took my vehicle in this morning for a screw in left rear tire, air pressure was fine and not going down. They took my keys and half an hour later told me that they removed the nail and that there was no puncture. So they re-beaded and sealed the tire because I must have hit a pothole. They charge me $25 and I leave. About a half hour later I realized that they had done the wrong tire. The nail was still in the left tire. They had not actually pulled any screw out of any tire and just checked to see if there was any air coming out apparently and claimed to have sealed it. I returned and all they did was give me back my money and let me leave with the screw still in my left tire. With no explanation as to why they lied about having fixed a tire with a screw in it. i requested a tire sensor changed. I walked in and i had a seat to wait. While waiting people were coming and going. It wasn't about the wait which wasn't long at all but just how busy they were. They did tell me i had 2 flats which we never thought as we had recently came back from over a 1600 mile trip . They were fixed and $44 I was on my way. Tires were plugged! Definitely a recommendation! I will be back but hopefully not too soon. The value they show is right to the point and knowledgeable to every customer. read more

Well I'm back again, a week or so later, and very satisfied once again. Had a slow leak in one of my tires, which I very recently had changed due to a flat (wasn't repairable). I took it to the place that originally replaced the tire. They checked it and found a nail and said it wouldn't be able to get fixed because it was too close to the side wall. I had just bought a new tire from them exactly a week before, and now they tell me I have to buy a new one. I said nope and left. Took the car here the next morning. Very quickly they took off the tire, took out the nail, plug and patched it. All done within 20 minutes and less than $20. Thanks again for the fast and friendly service, and for saving me $300+. They stole money by telling me i needed a tire to pass inspection, meanwhile the tire they claimed needed it was less than a yr old with less than 12k mi. They peeled the sticked off the inspection so I was stuck there. The guy screamed across the whole waiting area instead of speaking to me respectfully. Never getting tires anyplace else again if I can help it - this place was just that good. After going through the nonstop bait & switch circus that is Mavis, I stumbled across Tire Discount Center while trying to find the best price on the new tires I needed. At first I really just wanted a price for Mavis to match since It was the comfortable move as I've been going there for years. But of course they played the "oh that's not the same tire" game & refused to do the right thing. Here, 5 minutes on the phone with Antonietta and my tires were ordered with a promise that the price would be exactly what their online quote system showed (which by the way was almost $40 a tire cheaper than the other clowns). Got the call this morning that my tires were in, was asked to show up at 12:30 for the install. Another thing I've never seen anywhere else: handed the keys to the gentleman at the counter, and he immediately walked outside & pulled my car into a bay to start the work - and it was pretty damn busy in there. In all the years of dealing with Mavis I think the shortest time I've ever waited was in the neighborhood of 2 1/2 hours. Here, 45 minutes and 4 brand new tires on the car ready to go - no hassles, no hidden fees, no trying to sell me anything extra I didn't need. Just honest prompt service - what more could I want? The owner was the biggest jerk I went there plenty times bought sets of tires for many of my cars so I took my Honda pilot there my back tire was low I asked them to check on it and change all my valves 10 min later they call me in and all I hear it get that f---ing tire out of here get it the f---k out of here so I then got upset and asked him is that how you treat customers I will never come back here . So I (as well as several family members) have been a customer here for several years. Never a problem until today when I went in for a NYS Inspection. I'm told that I need a drivers side wiper blade which was odd because I had checked my blades before I got there and this same shop changed my blades last year. Seeing this as odd I asked to see the torn blade and sure enough the blade is torn halfway down the spine?!?! Not sure how I didn't see that but no big deal. I told them to go ahead and change it. After five minutes (not sure how they did a NYS Inspection so quickly) the owner comes to the window of the waiting room and says, loud enough for me to hear, "next time I fail the car right away" and calls me a scumbag. Not sure but last I heard it was a law that they had to not only show you the part on your car that needed repair, but had to give it to you. So he slinks away after saying this and I ask the guy behind the counter if I had heard correctly. He gives me some nonsense excuse and I ask if the gentleman who called me a scumbag would like to discuss it further. Shocking but he had already run away to hide in the back room. read more

I was told by Continental tire co, to contact this shop. Need an inspection report for a warranty claim. As this shop is an authorized dealer thought it would be easy. The woman on the phone said that since I didn't buy the tires there they refuse to service me, her words. And she was very rude about it. Part of being an authorized dealer is assisting when the manufacturer asks. I did call back to Continental to complain. They told me to contact Tire Town in Freeport. Tire town was very helpful and I have an appointment tomorrow. Would never recommend this shop. read more

Thank goodness for this place. And thank goodness I got a flat less than a mile from it! I drove myself there on my flat yesterday, the gal at the counter took my keys, had someone from the garage pull it over to the dock. This guy removed the old tire, and while he was working I went back into the office. I figured someone would approach me and ask me what I wanted to do ... get a new one or fix the old one. In just a couple of minutes, she called me back to the counter to say that the job was done and for less than $20. It would have been nice if they'd given me the option to fix or replace the tire, but I'd likely have just repaired it anyway, and it's possible that they didn't have the replacement tire in stock. I bought 3 different sets of tires over the years from here. The last time I went in for just a tire rotation and the lock fell off the stud along with another wheel lug nut I found loose on the same wheel. At that point I needed a new lock set and they refused to pay for a new replacement set. Sorry you lost my business. Overall that's a big safety hazard concern,leaving two lug nuts loose!!! They are again the most honest people; I left the Google review five years ago, expressing that. What I would like to emphasize that they are very informative and not swindlers; they told me the problem right out of the gate. This alleviated a headache. The lady at the counter is so communicative with the mechanics it's uncanny; nothing is hidden. The mechanics themselves even come out to tell you about certain things for a good example. One time I went there, five years ago for a problem, and they fixed it; then I went there for a dead battery 2 years ago which they corrected and laid out what was up. I have dealt with many mechanics in the past who don't care and are willing to squeeze out extra dollars out of you and these are not those people. They should get 10 stars because of their honesty and how they're enveloped in the community where they work and help out in. I have been going to them when they were working out of a small single bag shop about a mile from where they are now. Never had to wait, always had the tires I needed in stock. When they moved to their present location, I knew I would have to start waiting because they were doing so much more. When they were doing full service work, they were my #1 to go shop. Now, that they cut back, I will still get my oil, tires, filters, brakes done there and anything other services I need for both my cars.
