Is there anything that's more appreciated than great service along with great work? I went to leave for an appointment, and I had one dead battery. It was the original in a 2015 Audi, so I knew it needed to be replaced. I called Jay's, and they came to my house with 2 guys. They quickly turned over my car with a portable charger, and took it to the shop. No need to rearrange my day to do that! They not only got me a tp of the line battery, but found a $40 rebate and gave me the paperwork t claim it! These guys do awesome work... and couldn't be friendlier! read more

I've been going to Jay's for about 2 years now and should've been going there a lot sooner. My sister had known Jay for years and told me to try him out, finally after being ripped off for the 100th time at other shops gave Jay a try. My 2013 BMW is always taken care of there (with its thousands of endless issues) but, I know when I get my car back from there that it's going to run better than before and I'll be charged a fraction of what the dealership or some joeschmoe shop would. Jay's is legit and especially if you have a foreign car out of warranty, seriously go to them, save the headaches and your cash. read more

Avoid at all costs! Had multiple services performed including repair of a cooling system leak and spark plugs changed. I had to return 3 times to finally resolve the cooling leak and they charged me each time. The spark plug change resulted in cylinder #3 misfires and the check engine light. They then claimed they replaced the ignition coil for that cylinder and charged me $270, but the issue is still there! I am filing a dispute with the credit card company and the BBB, as well as warning others about this incompetence and/or possible fraud(?) read more

My wife was running errands and realized she had a flat tire. She was fortunate that it was mid-afternoon and was still able to drive the car so she headed over to Jay's. Unfortunately, she realized it was mid-afternoon on a Saturday and Jay's would be packed. Even though they had a full lot of customers they stopped and not only changed the tire but fixed the flat. If you want great service at a reasonable price you got to go to Jay's. The total charge was only $10 and always met with friendly staff. read more

I went to jays to get my NYS inspection. The staff was friendly and informative. The mechanic mentioned to me I could use a tire rotation next time I get an oil change he didn't push me to get it right away. The guys here are honest and reliable, I think I can say I found my new service shop for my car. read more

STAY AWAY!! Jay is not a trustworthy mechanic, and you will be ripped off! Quoted me 500 dollars + labor for a new Mass air flow sensor, when in reality the problem could be fixed by cleaning it with an 8 dollar spray. read more

I do not know much about cars. Sure, I can change a tire and check the oil but that's it. So unfortunately I am at the mercy of the mechanic whenever I need work done on my car. New to the area, I relied on a family recommendation and took my car to Jay's shop. He has to be the nicest most honest mechanic I have ever met. He is courteous and not condescending to a car novice such as myself. His shop does great, reliable work at a reasonable price. They keep you in the loop before, during and after the job is done. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

We have been taking our cars to Jay and now his son A.J. for over 30 years now. I just noticed on their website that the motto is "Honesty is our only policy." I can tell you from MANY experiences here over the years that honesty truly IS their policy. My favorite example of this was when I ran in there during a torrential rain storm telling them that my windshield wiper motor had just burnt out. Many other places, having just been given permission (by a desperate female) to perform a big job, would have taken my car in the back, had a cup of coffee and charged me for a new motor. Jay just chuckled, took out his wrench, turned a bolt and sent me on my way. Another time, I was scheduled to fill my mini van with 5 other moms on a Friday morning and head to much anticipated weekend in Pennsylvania. Of course, on Thursday at 5 pm my brakes gave out. Jay realized how important this was to all of us and took my car in, had to wait for the parts to arrive, and repaired the brakes that same night. These are just a couple of at least 50 great experiences here. Whenever I buy a new car, I breath a sigh of relieve when the warrantee runs out. It means I never have to deal with the dealership, even though the repairs may have been covered. I would actually prefer to pay for my repairs knowing they were done correctly the first time and nothing is ever done that is not necessary. And it would seem that honesty truly is the best policy because not only have I profited from their services, but it is obvious by how busy they always are that it is a policy that brings in and retains customers like us for many, many years. read more

Do not recommend this shop at all. The owner is a big scammer who likes to install used parts on customer cars. I wouldn't bring a used lawnmower to this shop and neither would anyone that I know. They are the worst shop in the area, without a doubt. read more
