My minor teenager was involved in a car accident on their way to school while I was finishing a business trip on the other side of Toronto. I sent an adult to be with my child, and they informed the police that a tow truck was on its way. However, DNO and the police decided to ignore this information and took my vehicle regardless, holding it hostage until I paid over $700 in towing fees for just three blocks. When I returned from Toronto, I called to retrieve my property. I was shocked when I heard the cost. Barbara, the owner's wife, was condescending and rude on the phone when I tried to understand the fees associated with the tow. Eventually, I managed to get the fees clarified and was heading to pick up the car with less than an hour before I had to go to work. Barbara was unwilling to meet me at the shop when I was heading there, and then she insisted that if I didn't retrieve the car that day, I would incur more charges. Desperately not wanting to give this company any more money, I had to leave my credit card to my ex-brother-in-law and neighbor to handle it. I then contacted Barbara's husband, Corbin, to discuss the unfortunate experience I had with his wife, but he completely ignored me. Overall, I felt bullied by Barbara and dismissed by Corbin. This is not how a business should treat its customers. Therefore, I will actively discourage others from using this service in the future.
