It's not as scenic, but well maintained and easy to follow with some side paths too. This trail seems to be fairly heavily trafficked by all walks of life. It is totally flat and not challenging whatsoever. Just a nice stroll to go on if that's your thing. It is dog friendly and has porta potties for the rest of us. The park area is a fair size. Wish we could swim in it, but that's not the case. Many signs say not to. Guess we will have to all admire it from afar. Plenty of free parking here also and a boat launch if you can find it (different address than listed here).

Was in town on business with a few hours to spare and found this park on my GPS. I saw it was…read moremoderately-sized and near a body of water, usually good things for city green space. The parking lot was small, but there was a fairly new playground and play area for kids, places to sit for parents, and a big open field for open recreation. Lack of shade structures and restrooms around the playground was a surprise and I'm not sure there was even a water fountain, but I didn't look for one either. Heading off into the woods, I found quite a few well-marked trails meandering around the hillside and down to the lakefront. On the water was one tree with steps nailed into the trunk and a rope swing attached. I'm not sure if it's even safe to swing into the water at that point, but on a hot summer day, I'd be hard pressed not to. There are houses around the lake with boat docks, so I'm sure the water's safe to swim in. Overall a pretty decent park with play areas and shaded hiking paths, even a few good fishing perches on the lakefront. I'd go again to kill an hour or so.

It also serves as the back up water supply for Salem. I live close to the lake and love to see and hear wild life such as loons, duck, bald eagles, and more. Some people do fish the lake and it has mostly perch, bass, pickerel, and other small trash fish. There is no public beach (actually out of all the 5 lakes in Salem, there is no public beach or access which is a huge negative and public issue) however there are some areas that one can park and access the lake to swim or put in a kayak on town owned land. I kayak on the lake and there are islands to explore and it is so peaceful and the water so clean! It is hard to believe that we are only 45 minutes from Boston! A hidden gem!

Some people are real "settled" into their sites which might make Richie rich uncomfortable, but it's all good. Security guys are always around and know what's going on in the campsite, other campers and staff are extremely helpful, and the rules that seem real strict are more like guidelines...which is fine by me. This place is had a bar, store, pool, lake, pond, play ground, and firewood for $5. If you're a whiny brat, look elsewhere.

I had high hopes for Hidden Valley RV and Golf course until we actually arrived…read more We have a 32' travel trailer and it can be tight in many spots. Knowing this, the staff reserved a spot for us when we called knowing we couldn't fit into most of their spots. Upon arrival we find out that they gave our spot away ( a blessing in disguise) and moved us to the rear of the park. Our new site was backed up to a maintenance path used by golfers and staff but non the less it wasn't a bad spot. Very hard to back into being a tree was on the back in drivers side but once in, it was fine. Now let's talk about the RV Park. I'd say 90% seasonal RVers. They pretty much let the people do what they want with the sites. Patios made of cinder blocks. Overgrown grass and trailers that haven't been moved in decades. There was a mini tennis court with a broken gate and a net about to fall off. One playground at the entrance of the park and that's about it. Now knowing the lack of amenities, we thought what would be the big deal with inviting our family to our camper being they never saw it. Well once we asked the front desk if it would be a problem having them over they said they would need to charge $6 per person and $9 if they stay past 9pm. When asked what amenities are they paying for besides visiting us, no pool, no activities, nothing, they said that's policy. I understand, but when you have nothing you would hope people would want to spend time there. Now for the golf course. We called and asked for a tee time Saturday morning. They told us that there was a tournament going but they can fit us in between parties at 9:40am. When my father-in-law arrived, the man at the office said the scheduling person was nuts to schedule us being there were so many people on the course. After feeling bad about turning us away they tried to put us in real fast but it would have been a disaster mixed in with them. Another example of their poor planning. So to wrap it up, if your a transient RVer like us with kids and would like a clean, organized, RV park with amenities, and friendly staff, this is not your place. If your cool with being mixed in with seasonals that look like they permanently moved in, give it a shot. For us, we will never return.

My kids created crafts and held a Ball python- this was a special event but I can see this being a place to visit year round. As a result of this first visit we just booked my daughter's birthday party here- it hasn't happened yet but I will update my review after it does, she is really excited for her Pond party!
