This was the first place I tried in Weslaco, and I'm sure glad I did because I returned before I left. I'm not sure about the whole menu as it looked a little limited but the quesabirria is all you need to know. Crisp, flaky and tasty! They were delicious! The ambiance isn't much to speak of as the restaraunt is located in an old gas station that the pumps have been converted to curbside parking. Just spent $34.89 on 4 large papas to-go, Very disappointing to have long day of work and look forward to dinner for the family, and it's not the quality it should be. Definitely skipping on providong adequate sour cream and definitely cheese. Waitresses are amazing, called she offerred if i wanted to go get cheese such a sweet employee, but i sldontvwant to drive 20min round trip for it. So it right the FIRST TIME COOK. The only reason we couldn't give 5/5 stars was because the bathroom was messy and the TP was a new roll and wouldn't allow me to use it to wipe. Ugh. But the birria tacos!!!! A must-have stop on the way out of Progreso for the day and back to McAllen. They are amazingly delicious and full of flavor. The waiting staff expected that we know how to order (which is in Spanish only) so that took a minute. But the birria tacos!!! This is one of those off the radar restaurants, but it shouldn't be! The service was great and the server very friendly. Since the menu is primarily in Spanish she had to interpret a lot of for us and made sure we understood what we were ordering. The food was served quickly, hot and delicious. And there is no lack of food on the plate. The menu is varied with lots of selections. This was us and our friends first time to visit and it won't be our last! read more

Tacos are amazing! We always get tripa dorada and they are perfect every time. Frijoles preparados are also super good! The service is good and servers are always attentive however idk why but almost all taqueria servers always seem like they're not happy to be there. Weslaco's hidden gem!! Such good tacos! The owners, husband and wife team are the icing on the cake of this place! They were kind to help with my order and make things for me that weren't on the menu! While I was in town I ordered from there at least once a week. Birria tacos were small but filled with juicy and seasoned meat! Those were my favorite! I wanted to try the birria ramen but didn't get a chance to. Next time I'm in town I'll definitely have that! Loved their food up until they moved to their new location on Bus 83. Customer service is just BAD now. I placed an order for my mom to pick up a Friday evening, we all get corn tortillas because a family member is gluten sensitive, so it's a regular thing. My mom goes to pick up food and finds out they did all of the orders with flour tortillas. Young girl insists that's what we ordered while the manager or idk who she is, she's a lady with glasses thats always in the front, comes rudely and tells my mom thats what she ordered and goes on a rant that flour tortillas are "very very expensive right now." We still got our order and paid for it but NEVER AGAIN. Don't go there if you want to get yelled & blamed for their mistakes. read more
