When I walked into Puppy Palace the owner was so patient and took Suzie into her arms and was so loving towards her. I explained her history and I felt her compassion. Now, Suzie has had two groomings and she is so relaxed and not stressed when I drop her off. That shows that she was treated with gentleness and her painful past was not triggered. Now Suzie is a new puppy! At first her coat was a mess, and I was not clear on how her coat would grow out. She is blossoming like a flower. They said he did great and could board at the facility. After my dog was dropped off for boarding, they called within a couple hours and said he will possibly need to be picked up due to mounting. I have never seen him do this before and he plays with different dogs regularly... but he is a puppy... and I'm sure was very excited with so many dogs. They said that they were going to try a couple different strategies, but we would have to pick him up if it didn't work. One strategy included locking him in a room alone and unsupervised for 15-45 mins for a "time out." They called back the second time and said he had to get picked up. Their methods are not appropriate and neglectful to put kindly. I had to ask a friend, who has never watched my dog, to get him since I was not in town. He stayed the night with him and animals who he never met and had no issues. They definitely need to improve their procedures and the way they handle dogs.

When we picked up the dogs in the afternoon it, very little fur was cut off. Although their nails were clipped right. For what I paid, I will never go back. I didn't like cleaniness of the place. When we picked up the dogs the front door was wide open with a child gate leaning against it. The dogs were in cages but once left out they head right for the door and could easily knock the gate over. No thanks.
