Once when the machine in my building was down I decided to take a 30 second trip over here. With quarters in hand I was ready to sit down in a sweaty gross laundromat and daze myself while watching my clothes spin in circles. That was of course until I saw that they would do it for me for the low price of $1.10 / pound. My 25 LBS of clothing would take at least 3 loads and an entire day in my 1 weak ass machine. Now I can save all that time and have people do all of this for me once every 3 weeks for under 30 bucks and my stuff gets perfectly folded unlike the half retarded way my clothes come out when I do it myself. This is completely worth is to someone who values their time as much as I do. Now I can have that time to grocery shop, hit the gym, or down a bottle of Jameson and black out. Wooo!

Winn Street Laundry does their laundry on premise but they send their dry cleaning out. I'm not use to their prices, they have a minimum weight and Jezzzzus, their prices was astronomical! I asked how much and gasps behind me for asking and the lady at the counter "This is Boston" look and their awards let me know YOU WANT YOUR CLOTHES DONE RIGHT, SCREW THE PRICES. $7 freakin dollars for a single shirt? It was either my ego that agreed, determined to look Winn Street Laundry starched down and pressed or didn't wanna look cheap and couldn't afford their services. I said out loud "Good grief, I pay $2.79 in Houston for a man buttoned down laundry, heavy starched shirt". I felt the evil eyes trying to climb my Psalm 91 hedges of protection because one of the two tunnels here was closed due to construction and the traffic put commuter's at least 30 minutes behind and in traffic. These Bostonians need to fire up a joint which is legal here and CHILL OUT:)))) Anywho, my dry cleaning was superb and the heavy starch I requested cut my neck and was ready before time. My shirt collars was white so I had not a one complaint for my HARD earned mula. I received a text when my clothes were ready along with a reminder of the price, I like that. He walked over the day before they were due to be ready, just to see if they were done early. He was met with "they'll be done when I said they'll be done." The next day when I went to pick up the clothes, the store was open, but there was no one at the counter. I rang the bell several times, called out, and a few other customers entered the store behind me. Finally, I walked to the back to see if someone was there (my thought being, what if someone is hurt?!) Finally a woman poked her head up and immediately yelled at me "for being in a private area." I'm not asking to be treated like a Queen. But basic decency is something I look for in a local business. With so many options in the Somerville area, we'll take our business somewhere else that treats us with a little respect and cordiality.

Their prices aren't the lowest around, but this is a great example that you get what you pay for; I've yet to have an issue with stains not coming out or clothes coming back from Clevergreen smelling of chemicals like you had them cleaned by a Halliburton fracking operation. The one time there was a mixup with my clothes (actually, I think it was the first time I brought anything to this cleaner...) they went the extra mile to make sure I got my clothes back as quickly as possible, apologized for the inconvenience, and took the charge off my bill. On the negative side, some of the comments I've read about the customer service from folks other than the owner (Fashad) aren't totally wrong. Sometimes when you walk in, there's no one at the counter and you have to wait for someone to come from the back of the shop...and that someone doesn't always seem too pleased. When I weigh the pros and the cons, I think the pros win here. I've had so many challenges dealing with other cleaners that I just don't get from these folks. Granted, they're not perfect, but I think they're sincere in wanting to do a good job and, yes, the screaming Liberal in me loves feeling like I'm doing something good by working with an environmentally friendly dry cleaner, so....maybe I'm a little biased....
