False advertisement. The laundromat states that it is open until 10pm, when I was told I was not allowed to start a wash at 8:15pm despite explaining that it was urgent. I understand that washer/dryer cycles may take some time but that is ridiculous to not even allow one load in the washer, which would have been completed well before 10pm. If it's a hard rule, please list it on your website. read more

This is by far the best laundromat I have ever used, but mostly because of the staff, especially Carmen. I always try to go when I think she might be working. She is so friendly and welcoming and always super helpful if I ever need anything. She honestly makes doing laundry fun for me because I get to chat with her (and I typically don't love my laundry days haha). I would highly recommend this laundromat and if Carmen is working, you are guaranteed great service if you need anything! She is the best! read more

It actually closes at 10pm on weekdays. And last wash is at 8:30pm. Clean and allows using a rechargeable card instead of quarters. Kind staff. Some of their bigger washing machines are silly and will sometimes have one of my socks spinning on the door instead of getting rinsed, but solid laundromat otherwise! read more

I came to do a few loads. It is a very hot day out (90 degrees out in July) and somehow it felt hotter inside the laundromat! I had asked the laundromat attendant if the A/C unit was on, and she said yes it was - literally not even a draft of breeze can be felt - I had to escape to my car and crank up the AC....despicable. read more

This is seriously the ONLY place to get your laundry done if you must head to a laundromat. I've been going here for 2 years now since my first review. While I don't want others knowing about it and ruining it for me, the reviews must be written and updated. This place is fabulous! The machines are clean and well kept and maintained. The staff are friendly, while not all speak English well, they do try! I also met my new best friend here. I'm not sure why I didn't really talk to her before, but she's located in the front corner of the window as you walk in to the right. Her name, the Chillaxor. For a little bit of cash, you can get some time with her too! $1 = 3 minutes, $5 = 15 minutes, $10 = 30 minutes, $20 = 60 minutes The Chillaxor makes doing laundry fun and makes the time go by faster. Especially since I've mastered down the science of getting all my laundry done within an hour. Also for those of you that get really really bored while doing laundry, Crescent offers WiFi for those that like to lug their laptops in with them. read more

Clean, lots of machines available, and a generally nice area to wait. The only caveat us that in order to do laundry you must buy a $2 card- as in that's the fee for the card. But if you spend more than a certain amount or pay in large bills you get a $1 credit back (so essentially the card only costs $1). If there were some kind of little coffee shop or restaurant nearby they'd definitely do ok... Lots of foot traffic here. read more

Crescent Laundromat is a great place to bring your dirty laundry! Hey... Not THAT kind of dirty laundry! Those clothes over there that may start talking if you leave them there any longer! Washing machines come in a variety of sizes and Crescent has pretty much all of them! The two industrial sized washing machines hold up to 80 lbs and run for only 5.50 a load. The whole building is nice and clean and very inviting with access to a TV, and some arcade games for while you wait. There is a vending machine full of a variety of brands of detergent and other necessities, and also one for soda, and one for snacks. One of my personal favourite features of the laundromat is the card system. You can purchase a laundromat card for $2 and then add money to them, the larger increments of money you add, you get a bonus. I believe it's a $0.10 bonus for inserting a $20. The machine doesn't accept credit cards. The only negative is the driers. If you run them once, you're clothes are still sogging wet. The driers run at $0.25 per 2 minutes, though this is easily fixed by stacking the drier. To do this insert your card, press the start button several times, and it will add time. I find it best to let them run about 20 minutes to half an hour. They also offer a dry-clean-fold service. It's $0.95 per pound with free pickup and delivery. I've only used this service once and they took the clothes overnight and delivered the next day. Make sure if you don't have exact or close to exact change you tell them on the phone, and they don't accept credit cards. Great place! read more

Hi, I have been using the wash/dry/fold service for a few months now and I am still very happy with them. This is the kind of thing you take for granted at home but they do this here as a matter of course. All the linens are bagged together. The bras are clasped. The pants are zippered and buttoned. Tops with buttons are buttoned - not every other button but all of the buttons. I have never gotten back anything that's been damaged and have never gotten back a mismatched sock! Plus, their turn around time is very fast. For example, I dropped off on Friday morning and asked if I could have it (maybe 50 pounds) on Saturday night and they offered Friday night. You should know that the drop off and pick up process is painless and fast. Great job! read more

Crescent is clean and there is almost never an issue finding a free washer to use. They have parking next to the building which is convenient. Doing laundry is never my favorite, but here is really the best option in the Waltham/ West Newton area! As others have mentioned, you do need to get a card rather than use quarters. My only wish is that I could load money onto it unit my debit or credit card. read more

This place is amazing. They will pick up and drop of your laundry free of charge, and their wash-dry-fold service is $1.10 a pound. I don't even make them pick-up and deliver because I actually feel like I am ripping them off. Today, I did 3 weeks worth of laundry (ugh, traveling) which came out to 31 lbs. I paid less than $34, and I could have had them pick it up and deliver it when it was done for the same price. What a deal. Went here to wash my queen size blankets. I used a large but not ginormous machine that cost $6.00/load, which seems to be the going rate. I checked out the card machine, and an employee came over to ask me if I needed help (since I must have had a puzzled look on my face). I asked her if I needed to get a card, and she said if I was just going to be there the one time, I could use her card. If I planned on coming back, I should get my own card, which cost $2. So, I gave her the $6 I needed to wash my blankets, and she used her card. When it was time to dry, I put my things in a dryer and gave her another dollar to use for the dryer. I used the super large dryer, which costs $0.25 for 4 minutes. My blankets were definitely dry after 16 minutes, which was the plan. The employees here all seemed very friendly, but they all speak in Spanish to each other (and I don't speak it). It's a little confusing which ones are working at the laundromat and which ones are patrons, should you need the assistance of an employee. That's the only drawback I can think of. This place is clean, has places to sit while you wait, soda and candy vending machines, a TV, magazine rack, and even 2 arcade games (one of which is Big Buck Hunter). There is a small parking lot along the side of the building with free parking for laundromat patrons. I would go back. read more

Crescent is a large, clean laundromat located near Moody Street. Almost all of the machines are newer Huebsch models, and they have a large selection of smaller washers, as well as the bigger 30 pound and 60 pound machines (which are popular). There are even two 80 pound machines! Smart cards are used for payment here, so there's no need to bring all those quarters. If you're new, you'll be issued a card onto which value can be added through one of several automated kiosks. Adding time to the dryers is a bit finicky. The default is 8 minutes for a quarter. Sometimes pressing start again adds time, sometimes you have to pull the card and try again. There's a clean, spacious restroom, arcade games, and two vending machines. There's also a small parking lot adjacent to the building. And, you can walk to Moody Street if you're bored! The crew here keeps the place spotless, and they're very nice and helpful. read more

So my washing machine died. And with that, I found myself searching for a laundromat to wash my clothes. I was initially impressed with the Yelp rating of this laundromat, coupled with the fact that it has a decent web site. The web site boasted that it has over 60 machines and states "Are you tired of going to a Laundromat and waiting for machines? We have more FRONT LOADER MACHINES THAN ANYONE." I thought, wow, this is the place for me! I put my laundry in my car and drove over. I found out right away that their claim that one wouldn't need to wait for a machine is technically correct: With only seven parking spaces, the one resource in contention is parking. It is hardly surprising that they rarely run out of machines. Okay. Parked after a 20 minute wait. And then I found another reason why people never need to wait for a machine: The prices are high! I needed three washing machines. The all-in cost for all of that ended up being $8.25 at Bubbles Laundromat on Main Street, all cash ($2.75 x 3). That all-in cost is $13.25-$14.00 at Crescent Laundromat, broken down as follows: * Laundry card cost: $2.00 * Machine cost: $11.25 ($3.75 x 3) * Stranded value on laundry card (if there is no way to load amounts of $0.25 onto a laundry card with the machine): $0.75 Crescent Laundromat is 60-66% more expensive! Even worse, this $2 charge for the laundry card is not posted anywhere. In fact the laundry card machine makes it seem like it will dispense cards for free -- after selecting "English" it offers a "Get card" option, and there is a dedicated slot to dispense a card, but no card comes out when you press the button! And the attendant was deceptive about the affair too: She led me to believe that I would be paying $2 for a new card that had $2 value loaded onto it, but I quickly found out that was not the case! At least she was quick to refund the $2 when I returned the card. I recommend avoiding this place. There are other, more competitive options. read more

Went there today as I needed to wash two bedspreads and the reviews were not wrong as the place is very clean, washers/dryers are in great shape, parking is easy, the prices are great and it was as pleasant an experience hanging around the fluff and fold crowd as one could hope for. A little out of my way, but worth the trip. As for Tom S., I didn't have to buy the card since the staff asked me if I needed one or if I was just there for a special load. I was able to just give them some cash to load the card for the washers and dry cycle and it worked a treat. read more

I use laundromats to wash and dry my loads, not use their drop and fold service. The machines are good as they are more modern or newer than most other laundromats. The ladies that manages the place are nice. The place is kept clean. So why only 3 stars? Washing and drying clothes there became super expensive. You have to purchase card to load money on to use the machines. The costs is $2. That's fine. If you load $20, you get an additional $1 added to your card. Ok that's also fine. My last visit was a 3 weeks ago when I noticed the price was raised even higher. But what's worse about the price hike is how they charge for washing or drying that is no longer broken down by 0.25 cents. Granted I don't need to worry about using quarters to use their machines. But charging prices of 5.95 or some odd price that doesn't divide by 0.25 cents, it forced me to load more money on my card when I needed 0.05 cents! The card dispenser doesn't take coins. Only dollar bills. So imagine not having as little as 5 cents or 10 cents to start the machine. So you are forced to spend a dollar, an extra 90 cents is left on your card, that you didn't need to spend. I don't know of any laundromats that have this strange pricing, which again is way too expensive. I should not have to spend more than 20 dollars for 2-3 loads. If they adjust their pricing back to per 25 cents, and overall pricing is more competitive, maybe I'll visit again. But not worth it. read more

The drop-off service here is fantastic. My washer broke right when it was full of water so I called them and they said they would charge me for the dry weight. The lady at the desk was super helpful and my laundry was on time, folded and organized into a little cube. I highly recommend this place for this service, though I have yet to use their machines myself. read more

I've been going to the Crescent Laudromat since I moved to Waltham. Great place. I just got back from a vacation and didn't feel like doing my laundry. So what did I do? 1) Called Crescent Laundromat to ask about their wash, dry, fold service @ $1.10 per pound!!!! 2) 10 minutes later someone came to pick up my loads for FREE 3) Did whatever I needed to do! 4) 3 hours later got a call saying how much my laundry was! $34.01!!!! 5) 10 minutes later my clean laundry was dropped off! AMAZING PLACE! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH! I'll be using this service forever! read more

This place is really clean and well run. I like that they have re-loadable cards instead of quarters (maybe its been too long since I used a laundry mat, but that's new to me). They have tons of options, washers of all sizes, speed, and cost. Drying is reasonably cheap. Four stars because its a little cramped and when it gets at all busy it's hard to navigate between the people, washers, dryers and folding tables. Dryer broke, and I have no idea how laundromats work. I came in, and explained I had no idea what I was doing to the woman at the desk. She said you have to buy a laundry card and then load it with money. She then said that if this is the only time I would be visiting, she would let me use hers, and I could pay her. If you're in the situation that requires the use of a laundromat, this is the place. Clean, bright and well maintained. Whoever owns and runs this place has their act together. When I was there, All machines were operating. None appeared to be very old and a number appeared to be nearly brand new, sporting energy star labels. All did a good job washing and drying my clothes. The washers did such a good job wringing excess water from my clothes prior to their going into the dryers - I did a double take on their cleanliness. They were clean. Prices are reasonable. So you don't have to sling quarters around, they use a debit card system for all machines. You can get the card there. You still need cash, however, to put credit on the card. After doing my laundry there over the last number of months, BE AWARE THAT THEIR DEBIT CARD PAYMENT SYSTEM IS NOT 100% RELIABLE. My card usually worked - but sometimes not. I've run into situations (3 times now - to the tune of $40+) where the balance on my debit card got wiped away some reason. They apparently have no way of tracking balances on these cards. If this happens to you, you're then placed in the unpleasant situation of arguing with them about the balance that was on your card - and it's usually your word against theirs. They do try to be accommodating, however, but the language barrier makes it more difficult to get explain the problem. Other than allowing the use of credit cards instead of their debit card system, my only suggestion is to keep a minimal balance on your debit card. It defeats the purpose of their debit card system, but until they can improve the system they have - or permit the use of credit cards, it's probably the only solution. That all said, Crescent is still the best coin laundry option in the area. read more

I have done drop off services at places in Lowell, one place does it for .75/lb and it has literally given all of my clothes to another customer and when they do get my clothes back to me they use some sort of terrible detergent that smells funny and I dont think they use fabric softner. The other place is $1.00/lb and does a good job but doesn't have pick-up/drop-off. Crescent is $1.25/lb I believe and will pick up my laundry during the day and bring it back in the afternoon. There have been sometimes where I forget to call until noon and Eddie will come pick it up and drop it back off before 5:30. I have never had an issue with lost items, whatever they use makes my clothes smell normal and feel soft. Everything is always well organized and folded properly so I can just pull everything out and put it away without sorting it. This is one of the best most convenient services I have used. My Boss got me into using the service and he also has nothing but great things to say. I use it at least once every week to every other week. read more

After returning from the holiday weekend I was looking for a place to wash my full size comforter since it did not fit in the wash in my apartment building. I am deathly allergic to cats and had to get the pet dander off of it after traveling. My boyfriend and I stopped there Sunday night intending to do it ourselves but the place was packed which wasn't a surprise for around 4pm. After trying three times with trying to load a card with money and getting error messages we noticed the worker at the front counter and just ended up dropping it off. They charge fees for comforters based on the size. The full size was $13 which is a bit pricy but the convenience factor was enough for us. We dropped it off and it was ready the next day. They also do free pickup and drop off as well. I will definitely be using this place again if another opportunity arises. read more
