My puppy is a 5 month old Golden Retriever and he comes home happy and exhausted. I especially love that they have a calendar of events! My puppy got to play with the ball pit and enjoyed his puppy push pop. He got excited right away when he saw we were taking him a second time!! I also appreciate they have cameras that you can access from home so you can watch your fur baby and know they're ok! I do wish the space was a tad bigger or even had an outdoor grass area but it's sufficient for those busy work days to make sure my puppy gets the exercise and socializing he needs! Oh and the treats they sell are my dog's new favorites! Apparently Belmont shore location has a lot more variety but I found enough for me to take home and try out. He was at animal control for a long time before we adopted him, & I believe he has some trauma history, but Joyful Paws is the most relaxed I've seen him (well, as "relaxed" as he gets in this type of situation). I love the very large space of their facility, the many staff on duty at all times, their caring, and just the obvious dog knowledge and know-how when it comes to handling/interacting with them. Not every dog is a fluffy, friendly, cuddle bomb - most dogs are complex and come with their own unique personalities & baggage. Just like humans. And Joyful Paws knows this and can adapt, handle, & control while letting the pet know they are safe and in good hands (which in turn reassures us pet parents). I know he is well cared for & loved while being boarded. I know he will be secure & have active time and rest. They really do get it here at Joyful Paws. I had to take him somewhere else one time as it was last minute and Joyful Paws was all booked for private suites, which was quite traumatic for my doggo. The accommodations and caretaking just were not the same. He came home a nervous wreck w/a raw spot on his nose from rubbing it against the door, as well as digestive issues. What really stood out to us was how thoughtful and selective Karla is about the dogs she accepts. Some of the other places we looked at had some dogs that seemed a bit reactive, but she clearly puts a lot of effort into making sure her environment stays calm. She suggested we do doggy daycare a couple of times before boarding so our corgi, Kai, could get comfortable with her, the space, and other dogs in her care. Our dog immediately loved Karla, had a great time with the other dogs, and came home happy and exhausted every time. She also sent us daily videos, and Kai always looked genuinely happy playing with the other dogs. We're so so glad we went with Karla and will absolutely be using her again for daycare and boarding next time we go out of town. She clearly has a real gift with dogs. We can't recommend her enough!

They loved my 7 year old Cane Corso, Blu, and showed him so much love and treats! They even took pictures with him! At some point, Dr. An and I were sitting with Blu on the floor while he was explaining things to me. Dr. An was very honest about Blu's care and told me that I didn't need certain care recommended to me by other vets (VCA). Dr. An performed the anal gland squeeze himself and his staff gave all the shots with me in the room so I got to watch, which is rare because most vets take the dog back so you don't get to see what's going on. Dr. An also took the time to show me where to go and who to contact to update the information on Blu's microchip. She's amazing! I was worried about how my pitbull pup, Marley, would react to someone new. He's really friendly but high energy. Some people aren't comfortable with that. So she came by to meet both dogs before I left. Marley is in love with Natalie. I hired her to come by during the day to walk and feed the dogs. She fed them just as I asked, and she took them out for potty breaks. I love that she sent videos each day to show me how they were doing. This was the best case scenario. Now we can go out of town whenever we want and leave them in great hands!!

Within minutes Natalie got Winston to settle down and even got him socialized with the other dogs. Winston doesn't interact much with other dogs so it was nice to get him exposed in a safe environment. My boyfriend and I took in our cattle dog, Ollie, as a stray almost 4 months ago. Quick background: Ollie was found tied to a fire hydrant outside my work. Ollie is the sweetest boy, however is very reactive to other dogs and is a bundle of energy that presents as endless jumping and nipping. We have a senior Saint Bernard at home in which Ollie has been too rough/aggressive with her, even when our Saint Bernard makes it known that she doesn't want to be bothered. We tried water sprays at home and other attempts at training to no avail. We began to feel helpless as our biggest concern was his relationship with our Saint Bernard, as it got to the point where we felt we had to consider rehoming him. During our session with Brad, we immediately saw results which had us dumbfounded. Like other reviews have mentioned, his technique is not "mean," but is a firm mindset that Ollie requires. All the while, Brad emphasizes when to correct your dog and when to praise him, while stressing the fact that these techniques are not made to scare your dog, but rather establish a leader mentality while simultaneously letting the dog know that you provide love and safety. Of course, like any training, one can only be successful when carrying over these learned techniques at home, but Brad left us feeling confident and ready to continue the work. Even when we got home today, we already had seen a shift from Ollie. As for Brad himself - he is very approachable and really looks to understand both the dog and all the circumstances that come with them. You could really get a sense of how personal he is.
