They did a poor job at plowing the snow which is what resulted in all of this ice as well as the lack of salt that they put down. Very unhappy with the work that was done.

They completed the project in record time, even fitting me in ahead of schedule, which was a huge relief considering spring rains were on their way. The crew was fantastic--professional, friendly, and respectful of my property. They communicated with me every step of the way, answering all my questions quickly and thoroughly, sending me photos of the work to assuage any concerns. It was clear that they take great pride in their work, and they left my yard in perfect condition, cleaning up meticulously after the job was done. One wrench in the project was that I had an invisible fence line that ran through multiple areas of excavation, and I knew there was no chance that line wasn't going to be cut. What really blew me away, was that Cristian went out and repaired the damage and the line works perfectly again; talk about above and beyond! A week later, the drainage system works perfectly, and my yard is shockingly dry considering the recent heavy rain. I highly recommend Hills Excavation for any complicated and muddy yard-related needs--they exceeded my expectations in every way and I'm glad I no longer feel like Shrek telling people to, "get out of my swamp!"

It took him from that time until October of 2022 to finish the entire job. I had issues a year later in June of 2023 with the chimney case cover being crooked & water dripping down from it on the corner of the brick wearing down the joint mortar in that area, not to mention the constant drip, drip, drip, every time it rained. I contacted him & sent pictures & he gave me the run around until it finally got cold outside, around October & I gave up on him. Always telling me he'd be out to take a look but always having an excuse why he couldn't make it or just never showing up. I did this for over 5 months. Unacceptable & super unprofessional!! Just go with someone else... avoid the headache & the hassle & save yourself some money!

I hired Les in the fall of 2016 to help eliminate water leaking through my chimney sweep in the…read morebasement and to pour a new slab for the front porch with new steps. I found Les to be an honest, straight-forward, hard working person who cares about his work quality and reputation. He does great work! But what I appreciate the most is that he's not happy until you are happy! He suggested that the front steps be poured concrete. I took him up on the suggestion, but after it was completed, I did not like the way it looked. I sent him a text in the morning to let him know and by the time I was home from work that same day, the steps were gone and new (pre-fab) steps were in its place! The porch and steps look great! The chimney and basement water issue is another story: There was water leakage after a couple of days of rain coming into our laundry room where the chimney sweep opening used to be (a previous owner had it filled in with concrete). We discovered this after only purchasing the house last August! After getting several quotes from basement water proofers, I had Les come out and give it a look. He was convinced that the problem could be resolved on the outside of the house by excavating around the chimney and sealing the outside foundation wall below the grade. So I hired him at a fraction of what the basement water proof guys wanted. Problem solved....almost! After the winter thaw and a few rain storms in March, there was still evidence of moisture on the bottom of the wall where it meets the floor of the basement. The sealing that Les did reduced the leakage by 80-90% but there was still signs of some water coming in. I contacted Les, five months after his first attempt, and without hesitation, he was back out to the house. This time with a guy who injected silicone into the micro cracks of the wall. What we found is that the chimney still was filling up with water about a foot to two feet from the base (most likely coming in from below it). The silicone hopefully will resolve the final 10% of water leakage. Les did not ask me for a dime to cover the cost of the silicone injection! What I want to say is that Les went above and beyond the call of duty in my opinion. He is a man of character and he's top notch in my book! One other thing: even my 80lb labradoodle likes him!
