Don Miguel's is a gem! Extensive menu, friendly service, great prices, and delicious food. For starters, the chips are thick, which is rare for the free chips at most Mexican restaurants these days. Consider getting a side of queso to dip them in! They happily bring out more chips upon request too. The menu is extensive with awesome vegetarian options. The portions are great, especially for the price. The beans here are 10/10, especially as a side to the vegetarian option for added protein. Our waitress Veronica made our experience. This is a great "American" version of Mexican food restaurant. It's always busy. The food is consistent. The staff are pleasant. It has a great vibe/atmosphere. It's very clean. They really stepped up during the Covid shut downs by offering delivery services which included refreshing margaritas. The only problem is finding their menu online. Their menu is extensive but you really have to know the exact name of the burrito you want to order or you will get the wrong thing. That's a legit example. My experience did not live up to my expectations. First of it's a beautiful building right off the highway and there's plenty of parking In their parking lot. I went on a Monday night and it was busy but I was able to secure a table outside with no wait. The chips, white sauce, and salsa were SO good. But we sat around and practically finished our basket before we had to flag down our sever to place our orders. After that we just had minor problems with the service, orders being wrong, and the food being cold. I hope that this was just our experience, but I most likely won't be returning. read more

We met a friend a Don Miguel's. The service was excellent. Our food was great! I ordered the Chili Verde and it was really good! My husband and our friend both really enjoyed their food also! As always, immediate seating is the highlight of this establishment. Unfortunately, several years have passed since living in the area and the food quality has drastically declined. My dinner companion was eager for the taco supremes. When I asked her how they were she commented on the lack of lettuce, the overwhelming amount of sour cream, and that the taco was tasteless. As for my experience: The complimentary chips were overcooked, the salsa tasted bland and improperly prepared. The entree did not get better; the enchilada was dry and the chile relleno had little flavor except the over cooked sauce. Beans and rice were the highlight. The place was pretty busy on a Saturday lunch hour, so I was surprised the food was so tasteless. What a lovely little place! Hubby had passed this restaurant a few times and was curious, so he brought me for lunch. Big red nicely decorated building. The food was amazing! We each had the pina rellena which is this wonderfully marinated chicken, peppers, onions and pineapple served in half a pineapple shell. It's served with rice, sour cream, Pico, and tortillas. Let's start out with the hostess she was rude and didn't say anything when we first walked in then walked away then came back and said why didn't you follow me? So it started off bad. Then their margarita maker was broken so we couldn't get anything frozen which sucked. So we ordered our food and it came out like it was unseasoned and was thrown on the plate. My wife ordered tres leches cake and the server told us it was store bought and wasn't worth it. I may come back but the hostess needs to have a change in attitude. Having moved to the area recently from Northern VA, where there were plenty of good Mexican restaurants to choose from, we realized quickly that we had to travel a bit to Richmond or Williamsburg to find ..... well .... basically everything. The exception is a great place for Mexican food. Don Miguel's would be on the top of our list back in NoVA, let alone Providence Forge. It's always packed, yet we get seated quickly every time (ok, perhaps not on May 5th for some reason ;). Servers are typically great. Serving sizes are an incredible value as the prices are very reasonable. My wife and I have brought out of town guests there many times and I would say we eat there about once a week or so. We have also done carry out plenty of times as well. This place deserves a 5 star and living nearby in a nice golf community, I can honestly say the neighborhood has plenty of regulars we see there as well. If I forgot to mention the food, it's because I am trying to avoid going back after we just left. It's that good to us. If you have never been there it is a great looking place, lit up in a very festive way at night with lots of parking. Enjoy! read more
