Just celebrated my birthday here yesterday. Our preferred Spanish tapas restaurant is still somewhat of a hidden gem but especially during summer month, you are well advised to call ahead and reserve a table. Hammelbach is in the middle of nowhere right in the heart of the Odenwald so you do not "accidentally" come here - but Carol & Juan have created a real unique and authentic tapas experience here that rivals anything you will on-site at the Ramblas in Barcelona - this from somebody who is travelling to Catalanya on business multiple times a year. The selection of Tapas is extensive and quality is excellence - in the summer month sitting outside on the patio with a good glass of tinto almost makes your forget you are in Germany. read more
