The paella is not cheap but of high quality ingredients (they're generous with the seafood) and it's always nice crispy at the bottom of the pan, so make sure to scrape that off! If you're lucky, they have live music and flamenco dancers, which is pretty extraordinary. On a summer night we prefer to sit outside though and get tipsy off the homemade sangria :)

Didn't get to the main plates (I'm a sucker for tapas) so I can't comment on the offerings there. Dessert (I'm a sucker for that, too) was good - we got a flan and crema catalaña with a sweet sherry. Service was great as we had at least 2 servers catering to our needs. We shared the tapas plate special for 2, and we like it a lot. A fair selection (consisting of artichokes, sardines, olives, seafood salad--love that!, etc), but be aware that it serves mostly as an appetizer as the portion per person was not so big. I had the "Sepia a la Plancha" (grilled squid), and to my surprise (usually I am skeptical about seafood quality in southern Germany), it was fresh and cooked nicely. My friend got the seafood special for 2 (consisting of several types of fish, shrimps, mussels, squid), and they also thought it was cooked nicely. Since our main dishes all come with salad, the servers just brought a huge bowl of salad for us to share. I'm a fan of family-styled dining, so that was a plus for me. Portions for the entree were big, so we had no room left for dessert (sigh...). The meal was on a pricier end, but for a special occasion, one cannot go wrong with Bodega. Tip: If you want to try their Paellas, you would need to make the order much earlier (either a day before or when they open for the day).

You forget you are in Germany. You forget you are in an industrial area. You have a river front view. The hotel rooms are large, spacious, comfortable and loft like. People come for the drinks and tapas. Some end up staying the night because of how at home you feel. I would recommend reservations for seating...the lounge area fills up quickly. But you can always stand near the bar or go outside on the terrace area if the weather is decent. They make the best Old Fashioned Cocktail in the area. Germany isn't known for handcrafted cocktails. So this is a major plus for me. Ohhh and there is a Michelin Watch Restaurant (Marly) next door to the hotel/bar. It's worth it if spending a bit on great food doesn't bother you. It's worth it! These are really good and it would be easy to have a meal entirely on a few of these. The scampi shrimp and goat cheese are my personal favorites. There potato wedges with sour cream are tops too.
