It is pretty expensive to send both children but luckily our town wrestling is wonderful and paid half for the summer (my older son wrestling for highschool this year, younger wrestles for the town). As much as they love attending it's not really affordable to send both kids year round (they also practice jiu jitsu at another place). It is located in Coventry now so it's a bit of a drive as well. Overall if you can afford it, it's a great place.

The classes are filled and anyone is welcome. You can join with zero experience and will be warmly welcomed. The owners Sensei Serge Boyssou his wife Liz are two incredible people who have changed the lives of so many especially by getting kids off the street and providing them a safe environment to grow. I joined this club at 16 when I was new to judo and only had wrestling experience. There are a ton of female athletes in the club that has never been divided or discriminated. The minute you step in the met gender disappears and you respect your opponent and protect them. Katelyn their daughter runs most of the classes and is an extremely accomplished judoka and wrestler. Many of the students compete and travel frequently. There is a long list of accomplishments that come from this club. Serge always has seminars and camps and in the physical sense you could never get a better workout. There's also a Weight room in the back. Serge goes over and beyond for all of his students and will give you the shirt off his back if you put the time in. This truly is an amazing special place that made me a million times better person, I wouldn't trade the lessons I've learned here physically and mentally for anything. I highly recommend !

My sons and I transferred to this location, which is now the sole and "flagship" school for World Martial Arts, in September of 2015. We had been thrilled with our experience at the former West Warwick location, but had also had exposure to this school over time through combined events. Our transition was made easy by the instructors, as well as the great group of Black Belts who are generous with their own time and insights to help lower belts learn, advance, and succeed. Leading the school, Master Adam & Master Babits are energetic, enthusiastic, skilled, and probably most important, quality teachers. They're great at balancing instruction, fitness, discipline, and fun. While we do have fun, make no mistake - training/learning here means business. Perseverance is the key - and the lesson, which I appreciate. Every session is about effort, technique, and giving your best - always taking the next step to better yourself. Instruction & curriculum: Do you want to come to a structured class? The schedule is mostly of the post-workday sort, and varies across weekday evenings to give people a chance to select the right time for them, depending on what skill/belt level you're operating at. Saturday mornings are a chance for everyone to get a weekend work session in. The instruction rotates: "A" day is for learning, practicing, and perfecting your combinations and forms, while "B" day is for sparring and extra physical fitness concentration. These alternate throughout the month, usually punctuated twice by board-breaking days, held to work on the techniques to make controlled, high-impact contact. All of the classes have their own dynamic and help you add something new to your repertoire, even when practicing a standard element of your martial artistry. The emphasis is on making the basics second nature (cognitive, then emotional, then physical learning), so that you can add on more creative moves to expand your arsenal. Want to add more variety? WMA offers its "B.O.S.S." program to students in which, above and beyond normal instruction, students learn leadership skills and can introduce weapons training as an added skill to hone. That alone will Give it 3 stars. At $75 a month for 2 classes a week, seems pretty reasonable to me. Instructors do not talk down to these young kids, which I like. They seem to hold the kids attention and keep them going the whole hour. I was tired just watching them. They ended with a game to cool the kids down, which they all enjoyed. Price is right, instructors seemed good. Just wish it were cleaner and a bit nicer.

I enrolled for the Krav Maga classes, which are fabulous, and was quite quickly persuaded to try Jeet Kun Do, Sancho, Striking, Wing Chun, Kickboxing and my favorite, Jiu Jitsu.
