Food is ok, service is ok they need new booth seats those things are awful! The place needs updated.

I visited Don Señor Mexican Bar & Grill this past weekend with my family for lunch. It's a fairly new restaurant in the area, and my family hadn't been before. I'm rarely in the area, so I left the decision up to them, but they made a good choice! Don Señor was large, making it very easy to socially distance while dining, whether you opt to eat inside or out. We opted for outside on the patio, because the weather was great when we visited. Our service was quick and friendly, and the food was served hot and fresh. The menu consists of the typical Mexican-style dishes you would expect from a casual spot like this one. Our server ensured that we always had everything we needed, including consistent water refills, which I always appreciate. I also very much enjoyed the fact that they offer their lunch menu on Saturday, as well as through the week. I often opt for lunch servings, as they are smaller and more managable for a lunch meal. If you're in the area and looking to check out a great spot for lunch, Don Señor is definitely a good bet! read more

Where do I begin this place was so bad that I even considered calling ice after I left but anonymously of course, so basically do not eat here thanks. Asked for queso, server said kay so bye and attempted to leave the table. Once queso was received it was watery milk, something you would feed a cat. Basically I wanted to go eat , did not know I was going to a nightclub at the Jersey shore, the music was too loud. Then, after holding my nose and tilting my head to force the food down my throat. We were seated immediately, but were stuck in a corner and forgotten. Just as we were about to leave our waiter arrived. We ordered our meals with our drinks. The salsa lacked seasoning and tasted mostly of tomatoes. The food tasted microwaved and not fresh. None of us finished our meals. Our food was supposed to have queso on it but instead it was some crumbled white cheese that was half cold and half warm. read more

The food is very bland since they moved into the new location. They don't put cilantro in the salsa, just bland tomato, I can't even see onion in there. I would never choose to eat here over the other Mexican choices in town. If you like basic Americanized bland food - this is the spot for you! read more

We were a HUGE party, I think just over 20 of us. It was bit of a wait because it was the night of high school graduation. The service was still good considering we were a big party and it was late. The food was tasty, I had the green enchiladas. I wish I had a picture of the "medium size" margarita", it felt massive! I ordered mine with Don Julio tequila and it was delicious. Mehs There were two of us, and they only brought one small bowl of salsa to share. We asked for a second and was charged $.99. The food was OK, did not have much ooomph. The chicken in the fajitas was a little dry, I think this was due to the cast-iron skillet being overly hot. Some of the fajitas burned on the bottom before it got to the table. My wife and I stopped off at exit to find some food and randomly went here. Always a bit of a shot in the dark when you're coming off an exit but we were super impressed with this place . The gentlemen who took our takeout order was super knowledgeable and patient. He actually kept me from ordering one item that wouldn't have been what I was looking for. We are gluten-free, and are on a diet that doesn't allow us to have oil. Not only did he accommodate all these requests but went above and beyond to make sure that everything was prepared the way we asked. The food was delicious and some of the best Mexican I've had. Eight pages of a variety of Mexican food w/ pix. They have app's, salads, nachos, quesadillas, fajitas, burritos, molachjetes, a pork, seafood, steak, carne & pollo section, dinners & lunch specials along w/ an a la carte & extra sides section. Since don senor new place has opened it has slowly declined in customer service. I came today and it took literally 20 min just to get a straw. Another 20 to get a side of sour cream. The problem is also added on by the fact that they were not even busy. Their food is always excellent but it's like the old saying - they have gotten too big for their britches well this is the perfect example. read more

My husband and I usually eat here once a week but after last night we probably won't go back. The service has gotten worse and worse over time and the food is hit or miss. It use to be good all the time. I don't typically send food back but my chicken fajita was so bad I couldn't eat it. The fajita had no seasoning and the vegetables were so over cooked they were black. After I told the waiter my food was bad they brought the same fajita back out to me with more chicken and vegetables piled on top of the burned food I had sent back. My husband also ordered a Santa Fe burrito and all the vegetables inside of it were black. The salsa is just tomato paste. It's gross. I am over it. We won't be back! read more

The decor is earning this place two stars out of five. I came here on opening day to see if it was the same old same old and I was right. I called ahead on lunch to make sure there wasn't a huge wait and was told to come on in. I get there and I'm told just for one person it's going to be about a ten minute wait. I say cool and head to my car and make a phone call about work and then come back in. I'm totally ignored by the other older hostess who immediately asks the older couple behind me, "just two?" No sweat, I get it. I then ask the other hostess if I can just sit at the bar tops and they tell me I have to ask. I ask and then get seated, nbd. No chips no drink nothing until my sever showed up to take my actual order. After that I order the chimichanga Boom Boom a new menu item and it looks great. I asked if shrimp could be added to it and if not then just put them on the side. It comes and it's literally a third of the size as depicted and looks just like the Chimichangas Boom Boom, which for some weird reason is the same thing but 4 smaller ones instead of a big one. I make a comment to a server and he tells me it's the right thing and the confusion is on my end. Too long didn't read; won't be back just like the last one. Just go to Los Rodeos and save your money. At least you can get your own salsa there and if you make a complaint they try and fix it. read more

This is one of the worst Mexican Restaurants that we have ever ate at. I ordered chiCken fajita nachos, they was burnt so bad. My spouse ordered a California burrito with chicken fern peppers, onions , with beans and rice on the side. What he got was a burrito with some lettuce and diced tomatoes wrapped up with white sauce on top and a side plate with beans and rice. Wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. Looks like I found my new mexican spot in the college town my bonus kid is about to move to! The place looks like it was recently built. Everything was really clean and seats were especially comfy. I felt bad for our host because we had him running every where. I personally asked for three things and there were six of us . He did it all with a smile and we tipped very well to over compensate we ordered three cheese dips to start off with. We wanted one without jalapeños but the host said all cheese dip came with jalapeños. For those that don't like spicy, this dip is not spicy at all. It literally has just a hint of jalapeños as the person that doesn't like heat stated they barely tasted the spice. We were there for lunch and the back of the menu provided us with options and let me say there were many! The prices were great, especially for the portions we were given. We felt bad because everyone had plenty of food left on their plate. I totally would've gotten a to go box but were six hours from home . I ordered pollo bandido. Grilled chicken topped with cheese sauce served with rice, beans and a side of flour tortillas. The chicken was grilled to perfection. I loved the black, crispy ends. Rice and beans were good. The food came out hot, which if you've read any of my reviews, I am not a fan of Luke warm food. They didn't skimp on the cheese sauce either. There was plenty left on my plate when I walked away. The star at this restaurant is their hot sauce. So when I asked for it, he replied with "bottled or homemade"? Homemade, helloooooooo. He placed it on the table. It was green. It threw me off because I am that person that assumes most hot sauces are red. SILLY ME.....clearly I don't know jack about hot sauces even though I eat it on everything. This hot sauce was definitely spicy. He warned me when he placed it on the table. I was the only one having the hot sauce, so I stuck my finger it () and tasted to see what I was working with. WHOAH. HOT HOT! I drizzled a little over my chicken and cheese sauce and the flavor this added to my dish was outstanding. I found myself consistently adding more and more hot sauce with each bite. The sides of my nose started sweating and even the roots of my hair. I am not kidding, sounds ridiculous but totally true. I couldn't stop eating it. It was amaze balls. I would say I loved it so much I could drink it but I would end up in the hospital probably . I tasted my husbands steak from his fajitas and the steak was good as well. This Mexican restaurant is always a hit for my family. It has a Hispanic theme on the inside. The tables and floors are clean and so are the restrooms. It is very busy for lunch! The waiters are friendly and usually very attentive. They are a lot of fun too! They take your chips and salsa to the table as you are seated. They will bring you multiple salsas if you choose and cheese dip too! I typically get the quesadilla or chimichanga. Today, I forgot to order grilled chicken, so I got shredded chicken in my chimichanga. It was still good and a good portion for lunch. My husband got the California burrito and it was huge! He loved it and he is extremely picky! As requested, there were no onions or peppers in it. The beans and rice were in the burrito. This restaurant is in my hometown and they are building a larger location. (The current location looks empty from the outside). I can't wait for the new location!! The ONLY reason I gave a two star is the food was great and the bartender was amazing as a sub for our waiter. Saturday night for dining.. I would pass!!! The food and drink service was awful at best. I had to go to the bar to get our drinks and my husband had to do the same to get the check and take home containers. Stopped by today for a quick bite before my son's basketball game. I was seated quickly, but that was the only good thing about this restaurant. It took 10 minutes before we got waited on, and 30 minutes before my son got his food, mine never showed up. I went up and refilled my salsa container after not seeing a server. I saw my food coming to our table as I was paying the check, 45 min after sitting down. I talked to manager on the way out and he just said that he was sorry. I have been coming to this location for years - going back to the El Camino days from the day it opened in Mt Sterling. I have never had such terrible experiences from my previous two visits. Both times I ordered Buffalo wings - both time the quantity I ordered did not match what they served me. The server seemed to struggle with English somewhat but was adequate. They brought out boneless wing when we ordered bone in and the coupon we presented at ordering clearly stated bone in wings. They take them back then they send out the wrong quantity. I try to support our local restaurants but how hard is it to provide bone in wings in the correct quantity. I had it with this place and will patronize their competitor Los Rodeos from this point in. Very sad as I actually like the Lopez family overall but they have got to get their declining service under control. . read more

So obviously they use scraps in their food. Pretty disgusting. We did not go when they were busy. We were seated quickly. Little wait for drinks, but ok. Gave our order and that's when it all went downhill. We both ordered fajitas of some type. We got our tortillas, then we got the plate of lettuce, etc. and we waited and waited and finally we got our fajitas and it looked like two plates put into one. We had to ask for refills for drinks and we asked for to go boxes and they were brought and just put on top of the tortillas. We went to check out and no one asked how our meal was. Also their salsa is put into a small dish and they never ask if you want more and their cheese dip is very runny, but here's the rub, they are taking the business from the other Mexican restaurant and at least their food was better.
