This resturant has been here for a long time . we eat here a couple of time a month. It has a ranch / Mexican atmosphere, it is located at the end of small mall that is attached to Kroger food market. The service was fast polite . The food is vary good. We got a card that they punch every time we eat there . when all the punches are filled in you get something ( I can't remember what.) The food was pretty good but the way we were billed for the nachos with chicken left a sour taste in my mouth. My daughter orders them and was asked if she wanted shredded or grilled chicken. She answered "grilled". At no point was she advised that this would mean a surcharge that would almost double the price. Her nachos with chicken had now become "Nachos Fajita Chicken" for $12.50 instead of $6.50 I saw the price change when checking out and inquired. I was told it was because she had ordered the grilled chicken. We needed to get back on the road so I didn't argue any further. Be warned! read more

The best thing here is the salsa. The service was terrible. Appetizer came out after the food only after asking our server twice. The Fiesta Dip looked good on the menu but was barely warm. Ordered Tostados but they have no fresh avocado or guacamole. The tostadas were cold and the cheese not melted. The server brought a steak chimichanga and said it was chicken so it went to the wrong person at the table. Fajitas came out but no tortillas or salad plate for another 10 minutes. Fajitas were cold by the time the tortillas arrived. There was no sign of a manager or anyone in charge. The people all around us seemed to have issues too. This is now our favorite Mexican restaurant in town. We used to like El Camino the best, but after they changed to Don Senor and built a new building - nothing tasted as good anymore. I love the salsa bar here, of course hopefully that will come back after Covid restrictions. There are so many different salsa choices. My favorite meal here is the molcajete bowl - I usually get two meals at least from it and it is delicious. My husband always orders the fajita nachos and they're wonderful. read more

The absolute best fajita nachos I've ever had! We live in NC and our daughter lives in Mount Sterling so she took us there before our grandsons high school graduation. We wanted something tasty and pretty quick and these guys definitely delivered! She said the service has always been really slow but we always sit at the bar anyway because we tend to get better service there. Today certainly did not disappoint! read more

My wife and I ate here after a 10 mile hike in the Red River Gorge! The 32oz Dos Equis (for under $6!!) went down great! The wife wanted hot tea and we had a hard time getting it but it eventually came in a HUGE glass. I think it was hot Lipton. I guess they normally don't have hot tea but they went out of their way to make some for her. Very nice!! Lots of free tortilla chips and salsa as an appetizer!! Pleasantly surprised today by our food and service. We have been here a time or two in the past, but the restaurant had an unpleasant smell. Today everything was excellent. Our chips &salsa was great. Their cheese dip tastes excellent, but it is a tad runny! My husband had the steak strips lunch special with tortillas and loved it! He is very picky. I got the fajitas Lucy off the regular menu and it was awesome. My only complaint is that the tortillas are quite small. They remodeled during COVID shutdown, so the restrooms are much nicer and not smelly! Today our service was excellent, but it is hit and miss normally! read more

Salsa was the worst salsa we have ever eaten, salsa was basically tomato sauce. No flavor at all. Dead flies on window sill and blinds were very dirty. Ordered chili verde and there was no pork. Service was very poor. We were never offered a drink refill. Waiter disappeared for most of the meal. One highlight of the meal was guacamole was good. Definitely won't be back. read more

Had to go to Mount Sterling for my part time to take inventory of Big Lots and decided to try out this place during lunch. The waitress saw me immediately, to take my to go order. About 10 minutes after, the cook comes out and personally hands me the food. When I had ordered, I thought I would only see my soft taco and enchilada. I was so ecstatic when I saw a bag of chips and even salsa O_O. OMG!! It brought back nostalgia of my favorite restaurant, in my upbringing city of Moorpark, CA; Baha Fresh. They do that too! For that I give it four stars. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was because they forgot to give me napkins and utensils to eat my enchilada!! All I could do was eat my soft taco. Ah well, it helped me to control eating everything at once (more health conscious). They probably thought I was fat and so I should wait to get home to eat the enchilada entree. Very generous portion sizes and the price is not bad ($5.66 for all three things). Amazing!! read more

I've come here at least 10 to 15 times each month and generally the food and service is fine Rarely do we have any issues but our visit today was much less than satisfactory. On about half of my visits I order an item that is slightly different h than the menu offering. I have never had any issues with ordering and getting the item I wanted except for one server that has taken an attitude that this order is an inconvenience to them on more than one occasion. I merely want a flour tortilla instead of the corn tortilla and yet this is a problem? read more

For the Mexican restaurants in Mt. Sterling. They all buy their product from the same vendor chair. Meaning the food taste are not much different between them. There is a slight variation in the salsa. The service at this establishment is lacking. Waiter came back to our table 1x after taking our order. Had to ask for my bill. We used to like los rodeos but it hasn't been the cleanest. There is a boot that is for decor that sits by the door that is filled with the same trash. Crumbs line the booths and gum is under some of the tables that we have tried to sit at (but I assume gum is everywhere, so we try to overlook that). There has also been a hair in our guac - so we haven't been back. Salsa bowls are also dirty and not washed well. Floors also have a slick film. read more

This is the only good Mexican restaurant in town. All the other Mexican restaurants are horrible and filthy. Los Rodeos on the other hand is very clean and tasty. They have a 100% on their health inspection report. The food has an amazing flavor along with great service.Everyone in town eats here because it's the best and all the others are garbage. I would highly recommend eating here if passing through and in need of a good Mexican restaurant. Also the decor is great, it doesn't look or feel dirty and everything is clean. If you're eating here during the week get a lunch special, it has more than enough food as well as a free drink included. read more

I highly recommend Los Rodeos with its nice environment with tasty food. I ordered the inexpensive Burrito Special which came in a healthy portion loaded with cheese and guacamole. I requested chicken instead of beef which was no problem for the kind and well managed servers. Our party of seven all had a great time and would come back again! read more

Ate here this evening as traveling through. Chips and salsa were pretty good. I had chimi with chunks of beef. Beef was so tough almost couldn't cut with a sharp knife. Beans had to be from a can, flavor was too familiar! Rice fair. Hubby had enchiladas with shrimp...were fair. Guess we would look for another restaurant next time if we stop here.
