    Bug

If you like little bugs in your food then eat here... if not.. I'd avoid it. My food was swarming with them and pretty soon the whole table had them and everyone's food was covered in them

The food was EXCELLENT!! I can definitely see why the restaurant was given 5 stars by everyone who came here. Some of the most authentic food I've had in a long time. Comparable to Mexican food in Texas. My husband and I decided to share 1 serving of shrimp, steak and chicken fajitas. It was just enough food for us and fantastic in knowing that we didn't have to buy double the amount and have lots of leftovers. My Gramma and Papa ended up getting the same thing that we did; and they ended up having a little bit of leftovers. The reasons I gave it 4 stars: (1) There was absolutely no toilet paper in the women's bathroom, not even like an extra roll. We came there around lunch time; and it wasn't super busy, so I would have thought that before they opened, they would have checked that. Having to wipe with a paper towel is quite a bit harsh. (2) I expected the chips to be warm and fresh; and they were cold, which is not what I cared for. Anywho, my husband and I will still be back, should we end up in this little town again.

Solid Mexican place here but not really the best Mexican food I ever had. The chips absolutely make the 3 stars worth it- probably the best Chips I've ever had. The salsa was good, nothing special about it- not too hot. The margarita was a little disappointing- maybe not the right mix but whatever I drank it. The burrito was super disappointing. It honestly was kind of cold- the cheese sauce was very cold. The inside of the burrito was warm; but the cheese was cold. The burrito lacked a lot of flavor and spice in there. All and all, I would not go back.

Visiting Union City from Chicago. Writing a review of Don Sol because so impressed by the great salsa, homemade chips, friendly attentive service, delicious entrees, generous portions and tremendous value. Festive engaging environment and easily accessible location. Go here for a great dining experience.

Best enchiladas in town in my opinion. Quick takeout and good staff. Great specials of margaritas.

The chips and salsa are good. The rest, not so much. Fajitas were cold, had to ask for tortillas. The flour tortillas were tough and chewy.

Happy when the rest of the fam chooses this over the other 2 Mexican places in town. Salsa and chips are hands above the other ones.

I'm unsure how something this good ended up here, but I'm happy it has. The tongue gorditas were little pockets of flavor; the lengua being done just right. $1 tacos (Tuesday's only) were a treat: the asada, pollo, and pastor being good and filling. Stop on by, the only real Mexican joint in Union City.

The front of the store is jammed with fresh produce in a small fridge and a wall of assorted baked Mexican pastries. The rest of the storefront was squeezed full of different hot sauces and other snacks and drinks. The back of the place was where the food magic happens. The menu is stupid simple (and I mean this in a good way) I opted for the torta cubana that I've heard so much about and IT WAS THE BEST DECISION. I've never had bread like it---super pillowy and soft. The sandwich was stuffed and overflowing with Al pastor and asada and a questionable hotdog/ham love child. The sandwich was huge and I definitely left with a happy full belly. My friends ordered tacos and apparently there was nothing super special about those...it's probably still worth coming back for $1 taco Tuesday! All in all, give this place a shot if you're into those hole-in-the-wall experiences. You won't he disappointed!

We popped in on a Sunday and ordered a picture of margaritas to start off with! Here's a tip for those of us visiting Kentucky. The server looked at me as though I had two heads! He then repeated it to me, as though I must've misspoken. . . "A picture of Margarita's?" I confirmed, Ummm yes, we'll take the midday drunk special please, and thank you so much! I mean I didn't say it... I didn't have to say it... "It's Sunday" the man reminded me gently. I'm sure my face was absolutely blank. Ummmm?? Hmmm... 'Sunday you say?'... Turns out you cannot buy alcohol in Kentucky on a Sunday, and here I am trying to order a whole dang picture in broad daylight when my butt probably should've been in church if I was gunna be in Kentucky. The place was super clean. Nothing sticky icky or gooey. Outside of not offering up illegal alcoholic beverages on Sundays, our server was great! The food though. OMG. The FOOD! First, I don't know why anyone ever orders anything other than "The Special Dinner" I ordered that and 420 munchies were covered ALL NIGHT! It's like 5 entres for 12 bucks! The bathrooms were clean, there was a step so not so much wheelchair accessible. Rich and Kai LOVED their foods too!
