I work for the defense industry and buy supplemental policies to keep bills to a minimum. Throughout the three years we've gone to Yorkshire Dental its "discovery learning" when it comes to billing. IT seems there's never a problem until we come in for an appointment. At first, there's a mix up between assigning our primary and supplemental insurance (which they had the nerve to blame on my wife). Then my spouse wasn't covered by any policies at all and we received bills (since rectified). Then there's mix ups in submitting insurance claims. Then they couldn't properly submit claims in a timely manner. The law says claims must be submitted in a timely and reasonable manner. I now have an outstanding bill for $1700 from May of 2024. They are working through it and have three options in my opinion: 1. Fix it with the insurance company (who normally set 90 days to one year to submit a claim), 2. Write if off due to their own inefficiency, or 3. send me the bill have force me to take them to small claims court (where a lawyer would cost them more than what I owe with a judge possibly seeing them not being "timely and reasonable". Either way, enough is enough. We've cancelled out appointments and will find a new dentist. It's a shame that an inefficient front office staff cost Dr. Bommu a customer who loved her work.

Review and explained everything along the way. Went back 6 months later for my routine check up and informed him of jaw pain. Have TMJ and upon X-ray saw there was something wrong on the left side. Dr. Sipes and his staff took their time explaining all my options thoroughly and gave me an option that I did not know was available to me. I had a previous consultation with another dental group that was misleading in my options and was much more expensive than what Dr. Sipes was offering me. I had previously been reluctant to go to the dentist due to fear of pain, but Dr. Sipes explained why his methods would not cause me outright pain and just a little discomfort. I decided to have a full implant to replace all the teeth in my upper jaw instead of having dentures or a combination of bridges and implants and teeth removals. Dr. Sipes is very knowledgeable and has a very nice manner about him. He didn't speak 'over' me; he made sure that I understood every aspect of the services he was offering. Dr. Sipes was right about the pain...I only had a little discomfort from the shots and the rest of the procedure was pain-free! Recovery from my procedure was quick and pain-free as well. I have been so pleased with the full implant in my upper jaw. It seems as if it is my own natural teeth. It is easy to clean and looks very natural and I'm thrilled that I went with the full implant. The staff have been very nice and helpful. The office is very nice and well- organized. They have state-of-the-art techniques and equipment. I recommend Sipes Dental for anyone, but especially if you have avoided dental treatments due to fear of pain or because you have a lot of dental work than needs done. The website indicated they participated in a MetLife Dental program I did not recognize, but did not address the MetLife federal program. I called and was told I would just have to call MetLife to find out. I went to the Federal program section of the MetLife web site and Michael Tomczyk DDS was the first provider listed near Dillsburg. I then called the Dillsburg Dental Care office again and it was allegedly answered by the dentist himself. He proceeded to pass the telephone to the female who had answered my original call. I began to explain that their practice was listed under MetLife's federal program but was interrupted by her statement that I would have to pay her $20.00 in cash personally in order for her to "look it up". Shocked, I said "you're kidding" to which she replied "no, the doctor is right here and he said so." She then hung up on me.

My problems were with the office administration. For starters, they changed the insurance coverage they accepted twice in the 4 years I was a patient, so I had to change my coverage as well - that's twice in four years, so I wasn't staying with any insurer long enough to qualify for the full benefits. And I would only find out about these changes when I showed up for my appointment just to be told, "Oh, we don't take that insurance anymore." There were no treatment or billing coordinators, so if I wanted to discuss a treatment plan, it had to be with one of the dentists - and I had to wait 6 months for a consultation appointment. And if I had follow-up questions, I had to take them to the receptionists who were not qualified to answer those questions. So even though I like all the people in the office, I am now shopping around for a new dentist.

I recently had to switch from my current local dentist because our insurance no longer supported them in our network. I initially had some concerns because I was happy with my previous care, you know how it is. But by the time I left it was obvious I would be in good hands. Everybody was very polite and interested in answering all of my questions. I'm relieved to be continuing my dental healing journey here at a business that clearly cares for its patients. The last…read moretime I was there for a cleaning and after that Dr. Katz came up checked everything and just loudly said BORING and walked away as there was nothing more to be done. This after I had spent a couple of thousand dollars when I did not have insurance. He gave me a 10% discount once because I was paying his full cost out of pocket. Also, while doing a root canal, he said he was having difficulty completing it and sent me to a specialist. That Doctor found a metal piece from his 'pick' lodged in my gum I think. I had to pay the specialist also. Terrible.

Dr. Katz preformed a root canal that eventually became infected twice in a two year-period. I was…read moresent to an endodontist who looked at the x-rays and found a broken wire stuck in the root of my tooth. The piece of metal couldn't be extracted, and I was sent back to Dr. Katz to extract the tooth. Not only did I have to endure the pain from the infections but had to pay the specialist for the amount my insurance did not cover. When I complained to Dr. Katz about the broken wire, he said, "You always take that risk." I stated that I didn't think I should pay for any of the extraction procedure. Dr. Katz did accept my insurance payment and did not charge me for my portion of the extraction procedure.
