ALONG with their wallets!! When I met Dr. Tice I was excited to find someone who specialized in hormones and from our conversation I 'thought' was integrative... Yup... big mistake. Had a TON of blood taken, then was prescribed a bunch of stuff, then shot up with testosterone and steroids at my follow up appointment. I am someone that does NOT even take ibuprofen unless necessary. He did not take the time to go other side effects, and to work with my holistic and integrative approach... he just couldn't wait to shoot me up... What put me over my threshold, and prompted me to share my experience is... I just received an INSANE BLOOD work bill. The doctor and office SHOULD have been upfront about the potential cost... its ridiculous. Still shocked... I had high hopes, but beyond disappointed. Do your research. read more

Been coming here for 1.5 years. It's the only place that offers bio identical hormones and takes insurance. They've recently made a bunch of changes and Dr tice is no longer here. The office was previously run very poorly and for the first year they overcharged me by like 1k. So make sure your not being overcharged. I had to fight for 6 months to get my money back. I'm hoping with the change of drs and management it will be run better now. I don't have any other options since they are the only ones that take insurance . I went to today for a follow up apt.. My apt. time was at 11 am,1 I got there at 10:40. Signed in, went and set down. At 11:30 I went back to ask there was a proplem. I was told go sit down and wait. I did till 11:45, at which time I was told they would be with me sooner or later. To complete the event one hour past my a apt. time I went to the sign in desk and told them that my apt. time was at 11 and did not plan on sitting for another hour. This place is a money machine, nothing more, nothing less. The first apt. was not much better. Go somewhere where you are treated like more than a copay. read more

This review is directly related to the organization of the office and not directly for Dr. Tice. They don't make any effort to make you feel like a valued patient. I've been trying to book follow up appointments for two days without any luck. Just never ending elevator music while I'm on hold. As of this moment, I've been holding for 41 minutes and counting. Office visits are generally smooth, however the wait times are quite long, especially if you have to see the doctor. Appointments for injections are hit and miss. Some have been quick and efficient while others drag on while you wait in the exam room. read more

Dr. Tice and his office staff are AMAZING! Julie and all the nurses have always gone out of their way to help me with my medications. My insurance always wants me to get a 3 month supply of RX's instead of a 1 month supply as well as utilize the mail service program that my insurance prefers. My insurance is always a pain in the butt, however this office does EVERYTHING for me. I haven't had to lift a finger. Dr. Tice is fabulous! He has helped me in so many ways. Especially when other doctors told me I was crazy or just lazy. He educated me on "why" things I have tried in the past haven't worked and showed me simple techniques to ensure I have success with all my health concerns. It's not very common to find a doctor that is extremely knowledgeable that is also a genuinely CARING person. I would definitely recommend Dr. Tice to everyone I know. read more

Just don't go. I had a unfortunate experience. They stole my bottle of testosterone that I bought at Partel Pharmacy and they were holding on to as a "favor" to me for my weekly injections. They refused to return it to me when I ceased care. That is literally against the law. I checked with DEA. Their office manager insisted she was right. I said well give me my money that I paid for it $40. She screamed and said no. Then she screamed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield Rep that called on my behalf when I called to complain about what they had said. Then the rep called me and apologized that that was my doctor. And that no they couldn't keep my prescription either. And Blue Cross insisted on immediately changing my primary care physician on the phone and told me never to go back there. And the representative was so upset she filed a complaint to her higher ups at Blue Cross/Shield because she was so upset with the way the office staff spoke with her and apologized to me that I had to deal with that kind of treatment from the doctors office. It was pretty bad. No one ever called me from Dr Tices office - no one ever returned my medicine or my money. So I would say STAY AWAY! God knows if they injected that into someone else??? Who knows around here in Vegas?? Pretty strange behavior. Since Blue Cross Blue Shield told me to stay away. And the insurance company was actually nice believe it or not. Dr. Donald Tice is the best doctor in town for me. He has helped me tremendously with weight problem, imbalance of hormones and other related health problems. He is very thorough and patient. He is extremely knowledgeable of his work. Excellent bedside manners. I could not ask for anything else. Dr. Tice is truly the best!!! As for his staff, he has one of the best staff!!! During the move (location) of his office, Liza, Julie and Marlene worked so hard and patiently to manage patients schedules. Their flexibility and resilience to any situation made it easier for us, the patients, to overcome the hectic move. The new medical office is now permanent at the Rainbow (5495 S. Rainbow, Ste. 202). So let me start by saying that I have been a patient for almost 2 years. Have the results been great? No.. But adequate, and therefore I continued my relationship with Dr, Tice and this practice. I recently contacted the office- over 1 week ago- for refills for all medications. Each time I am told that someone will get back to me by COB. Yep- Memorial Day fell into this time period, so I overlooked it. I even offered to pick up scripts on paper. After the 3rd call today- with the same answer, and yet NO response, I can only state that I have no reason to continue my relationship with this doctor. Nope- I don't need to fight or argue for something so simplistic. Others- beware! read more

If I could give a zero star review I would.I went to Dr Tice on the recommendation of a neighbor, whose description of what he did for her mirrored the positive reviews I have read here. This was not my experience.my first impression of his office and staff was not good, however I chalked it up to the fact that he had just moved to open his own practice, growing pains. He seemed kind and professional, and ordered blood work, telling me his standard blood panels were much more in depth than other Drs, which sounded good to me. My first red flag was his constant reference to my weight, yes I am overweight, but I was there for bio identical hormone replacement not weight loss, which I felt I had to reiterate multiple times, to which his reply was it all ties together, fair enough. When I returned for my follow up to go over the very thorough blood work he had ordered ,I was very impressed ,they tested for things I didn't know you could do blood tests for! In the end most of the things he tested for had absolutely nothing to do with the issues I went to see him for,he prescribed me appetite suppressants, and pharmaceutical hormones, cholesterol meds, and injections at his office that I was told were also hormones. None of it was bio identical, which was the only reason I came to see him in the first place! None of it was anything I couldn't have gotten from my regular ob, and we all know there is no magic bullit for weight loss, calorie reduction and movement, period. When I researched the results of my blood work and the medications he prescribed I decided the benefits of some did not out weigh the risks, also based on the extremely incompetent office staff decided he was not the doc for me. At this point I would have chalked it up to not a good Dr/patient relationship fit,and left if at that, no review necessary. Then I received the bill from my insurance company, of which he is a covered provider, my grand total of non covered, unauthorized, therefore not covered, blood work which included genetic testing(which was NEVER disclosed or discussed until after it was done) has come in at approximately $9,800. So, close to 10 grand for a prescription for Zocor, progesterone, thyroid(which was completely unnecessary) and appetite suppressants. Of those medications, based on my own research and a second opinion, I ended up with the Zocor, and a food plan with a registered dietician, and some over the counter supplements from GNC.I have lost 10 lbs, , after doing more research and my own personal family history risk factors, decided to hold off on hormone replacement,and seem to be going much better( change in diet and exercise I'm sure)aside from all the work of trying to get the outrageous cost of some of this blood work reduced or covered by my insurance after the fact,and the out of network labs he sent it to. If you are looking for a doc, and this guy seems up your alley, I say go with God, but buyer beware, you better check once twice and three times before you agree to the blood work, you will be in for a very nasty surprise when you receive that bill three months down the road,also I would say get a second opinion before you start ingesting or injecting possibly unnecessary medications in your body, and yes hormones are medications. read more

I moved here two years ago from Arizona where I was on bioidentical pellets for hormone treatment. I was looking for a doctor here to continue that. I went through the overkill blood work to finally get to my pellet appointment. I arrive (it is a 30-40 minute drive) and they ask me if I've brought my pellets. No one told me I had to pick them up nor did they tell me where to pick them up. And so begins my annoying two years with Dr Tice. He mumbles things as he looks at your blood work, tells you things and then denies he said it next time. I am usually irritated at his smug attitude but the wait times are just disrespectful to patients. Last week I went for my pellets and was left in the waiting room for over an hour. When I voiced my displeasure to him, he was snotty to me. Asked me if I wanted my pellets. Plus he was training people and did not ask my permission for them to be there. Then they wanted me to wait in the hall to pay. I waited ten minutes and then left. Let them bill me. They have wasted enough of my time. read more

SHE IS VERY RUDE when I tried to recommend my friend this doctor she called a few times and she always put her on hold and never helps her. I called and I asked to make an appointment. My friend called a few times and they always keep her on hold and this fine receptionist reply to that "I'm the only one here and I have 4 lines to answer" Okay... can I make an appointment please I gave First and last name and she wanted more info. Through out all the conversation with her she was just plain rude to me.I told her I was going to tell my friend to call her back so she can make her appointment and please don't keep her on hold. Then my friend called and she kept being rude to her as well. I'm sorry but this is very nice office this receptionist should treat patients more politely. I want to add that the Doctor is an angel! He is very polite and so the lady that does the blood work! SHE IS THE SWEETEST PERSON! I will still make appointments for myself but this office lost a new cash patient because of this receptionist. read more

Practitioners appear to be knowledgeable, but wait times are unbelievably long. Sometimes 45 minutes or more. Also, they NEVER call you back!!! Ever!!! I called 8 times, and spoke to the receptionist about the question I had. Every single time she said the appropriate person to speak to wasn't there, but that they will return my call the next day. Never happened! It's really too bad because I don't want to have to find a new doctor, but I'm left with no choice. Bummer! read more

I give Dr. Tice's medical care and advice 5 stars but the professionalism of observing patient's appointment times, a zero. I purposely set my appointments for first thing in the morning and arrive well before them. The office takes its first appointment at 9:00 am but normally doesn't unlock its doors until 8:58. Today my appointment was at 9:00, I arrived at 8:45 and it's now 9:14 and I still haven't been called (although I was the first one patient here this morning). I wouldn't have written about this if it happened occasionally but it happens often. I'm a business professional too whose time is just as important as anyone else's. The staff is great but improved timeliness needs some attention. read more

I have struggled with hormone imbalance all my life. I was first aware of it when I was in the 7 th grade and my periods were not normal. There was very little any doctor at that time could do for me. As time went on I suffered from infertility, polycystic ovarian-and early onset menopause. By age 50 not only do I still have the hormone issues but I have developed a weight issue to go with it. Dr. Tice is the first doctor I have been to who has helped me. After 3 months I finally feel like a normal person. Every doctor I have ever went to always told me that if you loose the weight everything will start working again. But with my hormones out of balance it was impossible to loose the wight. Now the longer I keep on the hormone therapy the more weight I loose. I have lived in Las Vegas for over twenty- five years, but have never written a review on behalf of a doctor. That's because I have never had a doctor like Dr. Donald Tice. I must preface this review in stating that I am NOT a person willing to accept aging as an excuse for feeling unwell, and I have been truly blessed to find a physician that shares this belief. Dr. Tice painstakingly takes the time to individualize the patient's experience in his practice. He is a master diagnostician, and through thorough testing, he has given me my life back. First, Dr. Tice is very easy to talk with, and secondly, he is a terrific listener. He makes decisions based on labs, lab work that none of the many specialists I have previously seen have ever done. There is no magic bullet for health, but Dr. Tice truly believes that women--and men--deserve to feel well and look fabulous. Since 2005, I have attempted to find a doctor that could pinpoint medical symptoms and provide answers for lifestyle changes to keep me looking and feeling young. After extensive testing--to include genetic testing-- Dr. Tice was able to zero in on some genetic polymorphisms that, with simple B vitamin supplements, have resulted in a complete life change for me. Amazingly, these genetic defects are attributed to many other diseases/conditions, and I feel so fortunate that Dr. Tice determined this for me before my health got out of control. Dr. Tice humbly acts like he did nothing that any other doctor could do, but realistically, he did what nobody else ever bothered to do. Dr. Tice's staff is absolutely terrific, which makes the experience that much better. They are helpful, courteous, and return calls to clarify treatment and answer questions. As my insurance does not cover Dr. Tice's services, the doctor and his staff have worked with me to make the services affordable, and to make sure that I understand the process every step of the way. Dr. Tice is an AMAZING doctor who genuinely cares about his patients needs. He works with you as a partner to understand your body and how it works as we get older. I recently went through what I thought was h:;(()LL with my health-ER, Family medicine, Cardiologist, OB/Gyn.... Dr Tice identified almost immediately that all of my previous stress and life obligations led to an anxiety attack! We are now proactively working on a plan to get my body-estrogen, testosterone, thyroid, weight balanced out. I cannot thank Dr Tice more than enough to help me gain my sanity back. I was at my end. Hot flashes, not sleeping, down to 1500cals a day and working out over and above and the weight continued to go up. Dr. Tice assured me that with the balancing of my hormones, thyroid, and nutrition all of these issues would improve or be resolved. I was asked to give it 8 to 12 weeks. Week 7 a switch was flipped. 3 months later all of the above issues are gone or greatly improved. Dr. Tice listens, understands, and has a vast knowledge of his specialty. I had an appointment for six weeks with Las Vegas Hormonal and Metabolic Clinic and finally it arrived today only to be turned away by his office staff because they didn't accept my Nevada Health Coop insurance. I made three phone calls where their staff assured me that I was covered. I also called NHC twice to make sure that they were a provider. They said you could be a cash patient. One of the office workers ushered me into the hallway when I was on the phone with the insurance company - the bum's rush. Finally I had the insurance company call the office manager because I wasn't going to go away after driving 25 miles and wasting my morning fasting. When I got home I called NHC to get an explanation and they said he hasn't been a provider for them since March 28. Dr. Tice should fire all that were involved. This is after I filled out a ton of paper work. This is the worst doctor experience of my life. I blame his inept staff and especially the office manager. read more

Dr. Tice is knowledgeable but the lack of organization amongst the staff leaves a lot to be desired. The reception doesn't answer their phones and constantly mis-booked my appointments. The first appointment I drove across town on my day off and was fasting only to be told after I sat there for an hour that they didn't even have an appointment for me. I was also supposed to get a food allergy test and they said they ran out of those tests a while ago. They finally got me in after another hour of waiting and booked me to meet with the doctor. That follow up appointment was also an extremely long wait. At the end of the appointment, the doctor said he wanted to see me back in two weeks. I came back two weeks later to once again find out they didn't have me down for an appointment! I was so frustrated that I left and have since found a better hormone doctor with a much more professional, organized, and caring staff. read more

Dr. Donald Tice is a great doctor. He was able to get my hormones under control and I was able so far to loose 30lbs. You have to understand that once you get treatment it does not happen over night. It took 3 month for treatment to take affect. I also referred my friend to him and each person is different and it took her 4 months but she now feels great. She says she has more energy and doing more then ever before. I am back down to my nice normal size. You have to know that women's hormones are connected to everything in our body including weight. However, eating right and exercising is the key as well. read more

I have been going to Dr. Tice for right at a year, and I can tell you that it has changed my life! After years of telling my family doctors (each very competent and willing to figure it out) that something wasn't right, my current family doctor referred me to Dr. Tice. She had a few patients that had gone to him and had great success. I figured that I didn't have anything to lose, so I went. I have NEVER had a negative experience with his office staff. They have all been very sweet and helpful and happy to answer any questions I may have or find out the answer if they can't. When I first started going to Dr. Tice, I had severe fatigue on a daily basis. Some days I just simply couldn't function. Something had to change. Upon receiving my results, multiple issues were discovered that finally explained why I had gotten to the point that I had gotten to. Also, there were some genetic discoveries that can help me live a longer healthier life as well. Finally I had answers!!! I owe my sanity to Dr. Tice. If I hadn't gone to him, I wouldn't be able to do the job I have now, I would still be sick and miserable. Feeling so much better has made me a better mom, wife, employee, etc. I now have the energy to get up at 5 am, work my full day at work, go to the gym in the evenings and still function until bedtime. Dr. Tice listens to my concerns and answers all of my questions. He has truly changed my life so much for the better. After reading the negative reviews regarding insurance issues, etc., I felt the need to post my experience in the defense of Dr. Tice and his staff. The convenience of the lab there in his office is for the convenience of his patients. Have you ever tried to schedule an appointment or just walk in to Quest or LabCore. You will wait forever. Also, It is up to the patient to know their benefits, what lab(s) are contracted with their insurance, and to know the difference in a bill from the lab and an explanation of benefits from your insurance company. I have even had the lab tech ask which lab my insurance covers. And as far as wait time goes. I have yet to go to any doctor where there isn't a wait. Yes, some longer than others, but that just tells me that the doctor takes the time with each patient to answer all questions, address all concerns, and doesn't just have them on a conveyor belt getting them in and out as quickly as possible. Dr. Tice does just that. I know that he is going to take the same care and time with me, so I just use it as a lesson in patience. My time is valuable, but so is everyone else's. I could say so many more good things about how different my life is from what it was a year ago, but I will just leave it at my life has done a complete turn around from where I was a short year ago, and I have Dr. Tice and his staff to thank for it. read more

My husband and I both were going to Dr. Tice a couple of years ago. He would run blood work every few months. He would use a different lab than our insurance used but always told us we would never see a bill... until our insurance quit taking him and we had to find a new dr. Two years later we get a lab bill from Molecular testing lab. I wasn't aware that Dr.Tice did genetic testing when he sent in my blood work. After I stopped going to Dr. Tice I received a $1199.00 bill after being told I would never see a bill. We had asked him in the beginning to use our insurance choice which is Labcorp. The only reason I allowed Dr. Tice to use the lab he wanted is because he said I would not get billed. Interesting that as soon as I stopped going to him I get a bill for labs from two years ago. To top it off because I was unaware that he even did the genetic testing I never got any results from the lab work. I would give it a zero star but that wasn't an option. read more

Dr. Tice has been life changing for me. I had previously gone to Dr's that just order a ton of tests, I pay through the nose, and in the end, told "lose weight and exercise". Dr Tice was different...it was like the clouds had finally opened and the sun was shining. I previously went through SIX years of being told I had thyroid issues...I was asthmatic..I was just overweight. I had ZERO drive...for fun, for life, for sex, gained weight like crazy...I was existing. I lived for the weekends when I could just sleep. After meeting with Dr Tice (initial visit was bloodwork) and reviewing the lab results, I was stunned, and walked out knowing that everything I was told previously went out the window. The lab work that Dr Tice runs is so much more thorough then the tests a typical doctor orders. He was amazing in spending almost an hour with me to go over the results. I won't go into my specific results, but here I am 8 weeks later...down almost 20 lbs, but more importantly, I have ENERGY. I am back to the "me" that I thought was lost...I take stairs 2 at a time, I sleep, I am sharp and no longer have my "brain fog"...the change has been life altering and phenomenal. I would never have gotten where I am now without Dr Tice and his team. Six years, and not ONE doctor was able to help me...just hand out prescriptions and pump chemicals into my body, with no changes. EIGHT WEEKS with De Tice's guidance, and I am ME again...there is no "magic pill", and you have to be ready to make changes..but with his guidance, and the guidance of the nutritionist that is also available as part of the package, and learning about my genetic makeup and how MY body reacts to different foods, I was able to make those changes. I went to Dr. Tice for help with my horrible insomnia. I knew it was related to hormones since I had had a hysterectomy, but my gynecologist wasn't an expert with hormones and wasn't able to help me very much. The first thing Dr. Tice did was run a lot of blood tests to check not only my hormone levels but also thyroid, glucose, cholesterol, and many other things I knew nothing about. Once he found out what my levels were he immediately put me on a number of bio-identical hormones and recommended some other vitamins and supplements. It took several months of trial and error to come to the right mix of hormones but now that we have figured it all out I have zero insomnia, have lots of energy, am clear-headed and feel better than I have in years! And I give all the credit to Dr. Tice. He understands how hormones work and will spend enough time talking with you to help figure out just what you need. I can't recommend him enough! read more
