I have been bummed because I lost my wedding rings awhile back. I didn't think I would see them again but my husband surprised me with them. I needed my rings cleaned and resized and I was thrilled to find a local jeweler in Donelson. I was surprised how quickly they called to say my rings were ready even in the midst of a busy holiday season. My rings have their sparkle back! I was given my grandparent's original wedding set (65+ years old) and knew I would never wear it as a ring so with my Grandmother's blessing I decided to turn it into a necklace. I was recommended to visit Bill at Donelson Jewelry. As soon as I walked in I felt like they wanted to help me. I went in not completely sure what I wanted because I hadn't wanted to get my hopes set on something that wasn't doable. They talked to me about what I would ultimately like, what my budget was, and showed me some examples. They were very patient with me changing my mind a few times. My mom got a nice watch for her retirement and it needed a battery change. They had me in and out in about 10 minutes and charged $10 for the service. I can't vouch for any of their other products/services, but they are a quick and convenient place to get watch batteries changed if you live in the Donelson/Hermitage area. read more

I have never had a piece of jewelry fixed and received it back in worse condition. I had a ring that was bent. As soon as I walked in the store the man and woman were arguing. I should've got the que to leave then. He manually tried to straighten my ring but the setting was bent also. I paid $10, and I said I wasn't happy and wanted it straighter. He said oh well you'll have the leave it here and I'll have the take the rock out of the setting. Kind of charged me about it with his tone. I agreed. Well I just picked my ring up, the rock is completely sitting crooked in the setting there's a gap where the metal comes back up to meet the rock. This is in worse condition than when I dropped it off. He should not have agreed to take the rock out of the setting if it could not be put back correctly. I am so upset and disappointed. No apologies. He did give me my $10 back which was the least he could do. This man is not qualified and does less than adequate work. The ring should've been heated and bent back. I could've done better with a pair of pliers. read more

First thing is I bought two cheap watches there. One Watch was fine the other I wanted to return because when I took it back to them and told them that it didn't keep time and had to be constantly reset, they told me that it is a self winding watch and that I would have to wear it constantly to keep it moving so it would be in constant Motion or I would have to buy some device to keep it constantly moving, something they called a shaker. I told them that I didn't want a watch like that and they said they did not do returns although I don't recall ever seeing a sign saying no returns or all sales final. After this clerk named Leah talk to the owner who's name I think is Ted, they finally decide to take the watch back and refund my money. This is not the worst experience that I had during the two visits I made in one week to this store. For quite some time they told me that they paid top dollar for scrap gold and silver. I had over 50 items that I didn't know if they were real gold and sterling silver. Leah told me to bring in my items and that she would go through them and see which ones were real gold and sterling silver and buy the real gold and sterling silver from me. I told her that there were many many items that I would be bringing in for her to go through and she said that was fine as long as I would leave them for a couple of days so she could sort them out. I took the items in and over two days she sorted out the real gold and sterling from silverplate. She made me an offer of $1500 and change. I told her that I had talked to my stockbroker that day and he told me not to sell my gold or silver that day because the market price of gold and silver was down. I told Leah that I would keep the sterling silver and real gold separate from the other items that she had gone through and come back when the market price is was up and she became very upset and she and the owner, Ted accused me of playing them just to find out what was real and what was not real sterling silver and Leah said she had spent two hours going through my items to make that determination. The owner told me to leave the store and never to come back into the store, and he accused me of just trying to get the items sorted out for free. I had already explained why I was not willing to sell that day with the market price of silver being down. I told them that I would bring the silver back and sell it to them when the market price came back up but they still threw me out and told me to never come back and that I was just playing them and trying to get something for free. To say the least this group of people and this owner don't seem to understand the economics of selling them my scrap silver and did not seem to understand that I did not want to sell while the market price was down. Throwing me out of the store and telling me to never come back was beyond rude and unprofessional. These people are a bunch of hicks and if you buy something at that store know that you'll probably not be able to return it for any reason and if they offer to buy your scrap gold and silver and then you don't sell it to them they're probably going to do what they did to me which was ban me from the store and accuse me of taking advantage of them. I guess I'm lucky in a way because their items like rings are way overpriced compared to other stores and if I had bought a ring there which I was looking at I would have paid to much for it. At this point I am just hoping they don't reverse the credit they put on my Visa when they finally took the self winding watch back. The owner and at least one other employee carry guns in the store. I didn't realize this until I saw a sign saying they shoot people who try to steal from them. That's legal if they have a permit and they probably do. What concerns me is if one of their guns goes off by accident and kills a customer. Stay away from Donelson Jewelry on Lebanon Pike at the intersection of Donelson and Lebanon Pikes. read more

I have had a great experience with Donelson Jewelry. Started off with a simple sizing of a ring. Then I took 2 rings to be updated into one. The end result was beautiful I am so proud of my new ring. I have had several compliments on my ring. The owner and his assistant was wonderful to me. Pricing was great. No more Green Hills jewelers for me I will be going back to Donelson Jewelry. They have some beautiful jewelry there. I would recommend to anymore to check these guys out you won't be sorry. read more
