Even my name and information was mixed up with a different patient/client multiple times! I pointed out the errors to the staff and they redid the report three times with the exact same errors uncorrected. I don't know if this is due to extremely poor counselors, the inattentiveness of the receptionist, or a combination of the two. Regardless I absolutely would not choose this place. I thought the fact that they charge twice as much as other institutions I would get the best results, but to the contrary it was the extreme opposite! Attached is the scathing letter I received from the state of Michigan on how poorly of a job this business did on my particular case. Don't select a business on the fact they charge the most by the fact the charge the most.. go off of reviews!

She has an extraordinary ability to connect with adolescents -- respectful, non-judgmental, and deeply intuitive. My son, who was initially closed off and resistant, actually looked forward to his sessions with her (which shocked me!). Dr. Farrah created a safe space where my child felt genuinely heard, understood, and empowered. What impressed me most was how she balanced empathy with structure -- never sugarcoating, but always meeting us where we were. She took time to explain things to me as a parent, too, which helped me support my child much better at home. I was taught tools that I will carry with me throughout my lifetime. I was given the option to treat virtual or in person, my therapist was flexible and offered me day, evening and weekend appointments. This is NOT a therapist you want to go to for serious issues like being suicidal or having PTSD or any other real medical condition! She knew that not only was I dirt poor and lost my home and two cars due to my mental health issues I needed help with, but I was also finding it hard to find food for myself and my children. She offered to see me even though she didn't take my insurance and I couldn't pay until I got on my feet and was expecting money to come in. To her though, this meant she could charge me THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to see me for a few twice a week for almost 6 months - the regular rate was $80ish, mine would be $135. This would be almost ok for getting help, but I really didn't get any real therapy. Therapy is coping resources, breathing or stress relief techniques, emergency resources for a crisis, help setting up a support system, information for group therapy... Things like that Carol. Talking to you daily about when I may get money to pay you for an hour twice a week is not therapeutic, it's extremely stressful and is a reminder of how bad my life is. In that time I learned many things; that she wants to stop renting and buy a home but needed down payment money, that my sessions would only be me discussing when I thought I'd be getting my money, and then that I would not get ANY type of guidance or help recovering from the PTSD, agoraphobia, panic disorder and OCD I came to her for! The only thing she ever did for me was filled out a couple of papers to help me get short term disability when she got around to it. I didn't get any real help until I found a different program. The worst was when I went into labor early and was hospitalized, nearly lost my son, and missed an appointment. I bet you can guess what happened next - I got an email demanding money! Because when you know you have a patient who is several months pregnant and has health problems, the FIRST thing anyone at all would be thinking about would be rescheduling useless therapy visits, right? So I should have pulled the breathing tube out and pulled out my cell phone out of my a** and rescheduled my appointment to avoid your angry and disappointed emails, phone calls and texts, right? Beware!Let me just add a note here. LARA, who regulates the licensing in Michigan, claims that Carol DOES NOT have a license to provide health care services in Michigan. How can you claim to help people with disorders when you are not qualified or licensed? Makes sense why my reviews on other sites are disappearing. "Only LMSWs with the Clinical designation can perform psychotherapy and diagnosis of DSM-IV conditions. An LLMSW can perform these functions only under the supervision of an LMSW with the Clinical designation. An LBSW is not trained or authorized to perform psychotherapy or diagnosis of DSM-IV conditions." Not overly pleasant or efficient, don't seem to get along, and have very VERY mild senses of humor. So...pretty par for the course. The nurses (well, basically everyone who doesn't sit at the front) are all very friendly. Having extensive experience with phlebotomists, I can tell you the ones here are very experienced or just well practiced. The highlight is Dr. Panozzo who doesn't seem to rush, asks you the main questions and seems prepared to listen to your concerns, and refer you to the proper channels as needed. There is a patient portal which is helpful to communicate with the office. And the person who gives you the bad news (if there is any) is seemingly a nurse so if you have questions, she is prepared to answer them. It is not close to my house, but worth the commute.
