DO NOT USE. Joyce…read morewas disjointed from the moment we booked. We booked a venue which she controls (colts neck, NJ) and told her we wanted her to cater. 2 weeks prior to the date we contacted her asking when she needed to know the catering details and she told us she wasn't catering. We have text messages proving that we told her she was, and that she agreed previously. After scrambling to find catering, she was extremely difficult with the whole venue. We were charged for linens, half of which had holes burned in to them or were extremely dirty - we asked for new ones or discounted (10 dollars per linen) and were told no. On the day of, the soda dispensers (the only thing that comes with the venue other than the space itself) were quite literally ALL out of syrup. It took an hour into the party for there to be any sodas, and by the time we got it running the guests complained about the sulfur smell/taste and I had to get soda delivered anyway. Throughout the whole process Joyce was extremely rude, forgetful, and short. I never write reviews...but this was such a horrendous experience that I feel I need to. Never book this company, ever.

Joyce loving and expertly placed clams, shrimp (enormous!) , corn on the cob, sausage, potatoes, celery, in a large steamer pot, along with bread on the side. Plenty of food! She is an incredible chef. The ingredients she purchases are all of the highest quality as she has been in business for decades delighting parties of all sizes as evidenced by fabulous reviews. All you have to do is speak with Joyce and you know you are dealing with someone who cares about you, your guests, your event and overall experience. THANK YOU JOYCE!!!!

Every year my sister, mom and I take turns hosting Thanksgiving…read more I always feel a lot of pressure to impress them on what I will be serving at my house. My mom is a phenomenal cook and my sister, whom I adore with all my heart, I know is secretly judging me. Lol. We like to one up each other when it comes to hosting. Not wanting to cook everything this year, I decided for the first time to cater some of the food. It was not easy looking for a catering service in my area. I did not have much to go with. What made me choose this place was solely based on the business's photos and their great menu selection. And the prices seemed very reasonable. Here is what we ordered: - Beef Stew Latin Style - Wild Baked Salmon Over Spinach (winner) - Chicken Francaise - Seafood Pasta over Linguine All half trays and I appreciate that they included serving utensils. Portions were generous and the food was restaurant quality, delicious, tasty and perfectly seasoned. Everyone loved it. Once you place the order online, it is best to call or follow up with an email to confirm the items ordered, price and pickup date and time. I highly recommend this catering company. Happy Thanksgiving to all my Yelp family!

Decided to make replacements without telling me because they didn't have the ingredients on hand, apparently. Then, they wanted to upcharge me for stuff I didn't order. On top of that, the food was disgusting. Normally I'd like to say something nice, but the dude seemed more interested in handing out cards for some DJ business than he was with doing a proper job. All of my guests felt extremely awkward.

I came here with my family because we saw…read morethat this place is run by a famous chef (Maricel) and that they even offer cooking classes. We were quite hungry so we ordered one of the tower sets and some other stuff like lumpia and eggs. I loved the tower- it featured a superb mix of meats, potatoes, eggs, and sweet pastries. I will definitely say either share it or come super hungry because I was stuffed to the brim by the end of the meal. Service is super fast and efficient too. The owner did rounds to talk to everyone as well which felt quite inviting. The vibe inside is also nice and cozy, and the tables are spaced pretty far apart so it doesn't feel crammed in there. Overall, highly recommend as one of the best Filipino spots and brunch spots in the central Jersey area.

Maricels Kitchen Is Bitchen!…read more What a imaginative way to serve several dishes at 1 time. Usually called a boodle or Ramadan, where the layout several dishes on leaves on the table, all dishes were served on a 3 tier tower. Cute for a celebration. The towers immediately brought to mind English tea service, with finger foods displayed on two- or three-tier stands. The customer service truly stood out, from the attentive waitstaff to the three chefs who came out to greet us--including Chef Maricel herself--the hospitality felt warm and genuine. The dining room is cozy and inviting, with a mix of sofas and chairs giving living-room vibe. They offer two preset towers, and we ordered the first: The Classic Filipino Brunch Tower, which included: Siomai, Crispy Shrimp, Ukoy (sweet potato and vegetable fritters), Pork Tocino, Beef Tapa, Bangus (milkfish), Garlic Fried Rice, Fried Eggs, Salted Eggs with Tomatoes and Atchara, Homemade Pandesal, Suman, and the Chef's selection of homemade pastries. It would be great if guests could choose items from a list or make substitutions. There were no substitutions allowed, so we had to pick the tower with the fewest items we wouldn't eat. I especially wanted the Torta Talong from Tower 2, but it wasn't available as a side dish. The siomai was the first item cooked--it arrived cold and had started to harden. Everything else was delicious. Since the towers are meant to be shared, providing tongs would be a thoughtful touch and more hygienic for communal dining. We also ordered a few side dishes. The Lumpia Shanghai were fresh and delicious, though a few were still pink inside. The Baked Siopao was dry and lacked sufficient meat and sauce. The Empanadas, however, were the clear favorite--fresh, flaky, generously filled with savory seasoned beef and vegetables, and baked to perfection. Every bite was a flavor explosion, and we were literally fork-fighting over them. The Sans Rival was the perfect ending to the meal--so good that we ordered an extra slice to take home. **BYO LIQOUR** I would love to take my Mom for a dinner.

I pay cash for everything upfront so who ever picks up the order only needs the receipt. First time they were right on the mark. The food was excellent, and trays were ready at the time promised. Second time 2 sides were missing and I needed to wait for them to make the sides about 45 minutes. Guests were arriving at my house and I was waiting for food. But these things do happen unfortunately. However, the third time there was no excuse. Christmas Eve. Ordered the food and paid for it 2 weeks before. Customers were lined up in the parking of the building they were renting and down the block. It seems as though he had high school kids bringing the orders out who didn't have a clue as to what they were doing. My pick up was 3 o'clock. They didn't call my name for 2 hours after continually being promised that I am next. Finally my order was ready. I squeezed through the crowd to place my order in the car to go home. After arriving home with my guests arriving, I realized this time I was again missing 2 items from my order. So I returned to tell them and I was informed they must have given it away. And my response was to make up my 3 orders. Now the crowd outside was growing and people's orders were being given to the wrong people. Mine was finally ready after many inquiries. Got home by 6:45. Since then, the owner closed up shop and moved elsewhere, and then again moved and so on. It's a shame as the food from this caterer was really very good and he would have had a great catering business in town. But he blew it big time. My advice is to stay away from this caterer no matter his promises or price, whatever town he has landed in now. Seems as though he is running from something.............

Appetizers consisted of steamed muscles, fried calamari and bacon wrapped dates. There was also a platter with fresh fruits and mellon slices, cheeses and crackers. All so good. They served a wonderful buffet. This is the first time I can remember wanting to try everything just based on the looks. So I piled a plate high with a Cesar salad with the perfect amount of dressing, a loaded rigatoni pasta salad, broiled potatoes, sliced roast beef with a dark thick au jus and horseradish sauce, a excellent rollatini, vegetables and assortment of bread. Culinary Classics Catering hit one out of the park by my standards. Don't use anyone else for your next catered affair.
