STAY FAR FAR AWAY. In Sept 2020, my dad purchased two handguns from Jack-the-Scammer for $1,200 total. One was for me, in CA, and one for family in IL. It was understood there was a Covid and backorder delay. In March 2021, there was (supposedly) confusion about which CA and IL dealers were receiving the guns. So I called Jack-the-Scammer. May 2021, my dad (and mom) were killed in a car accident. As the executor of the estate and future recipient of one of the guns, I began calling and texting Jack-the-Scammer almost weekly since July 2021. The guy has more stories than a library; more relatives "die," more illnesses, more vacations in 9 months than most people have in a lifetime. I should have trusted the reviews!!!!! Order a gun in July and haven't heard from anyone at don's!!!!! I visited the shop and was told wait a little longer. I waited two months and still nothing. The lady that takes the calls stated that Jack is the only one that help and that she will give him the message to call me! I played that game for a couple months and no one has even attempted to contact me. Finally, I reported it as fraud and my bank is investigating it. I went into dons early COVID and obviously they were very busy. Well I brought in my semi automatic 300 blkout rifle. The gun was not functioning correctly what so ever it was basically a bolt action. I'm on the younger side of things so I hadn't had very much experience with the mechanics of guns. That being said I heard a bunch of good things about Dons from other people in the area, and was very excited to get my gun fixed. For the record I was asked for a mag with ammo in it to help him find the problem. Well when I picked up my gun I got it back in the exact same status it was in when I turned it in, as in it was still a f***ing bolt action. But I will say they returned it with it cleaned. Same situation as many of the other reviewers. Purchased a handgun in October of 2020 with the promise of getting it in November. No contact until February when I was told "it is in Arizona and will be in within the week." 7 months later (September 2021), after numerous calls and bs excuses from Jack, I decided to cancel my order and requested a refund. After dozens of calls, I have still yet to receive a refund (March 2022), and the shop refuses to answer my calls. Aside from the deceit and blatant theft from the business, the customer service is equally as terrible, they will never call you back or answer your emails, and only Jack can only see the orders. Take your business elsewhere, unless your willing to have your money stolen from you. read more

Horrible experience, ordered a Gun from them. Jack the only guy in the shop that can handle anything is never there and doesn't return calls. The Gun I ordered isn't hard to get, ordered in November by the end of March still didn't have it and was told it would be in any day now. I went on Gunbroker just for $hits and ordered the Gun had it in 5 days and went back to Don's for a refund and was issued a fake refund. Called to dispute the charges and now am tied up with the credit card company. Still can't get a call back from Jack, I would have to say to this day the most horrible buying experience ever. Ordered a gun through Don's. They were helpful in store. But then i said i was moving soon and they said they'd just ship the gun to an FFL near me. Great, no problem. Until 4 weeks later i asked where it was, oh shipping delay, okay. Another two weeks. Oh its not in yet we'll call you. Another two weeks...they stopped answering my calls. Ive called four times in the last week and no answer. They took my money and dissapeared. Claim to care about veterans lol clearly not. Bad experience please shop elsewhere read more

I would give this a negative zero IF that was an option. This entire store is the worse in Pensacola. Purchased an AR pistol in Oct 2020. Was told it would be 6-8 WEEKS to have in. Never heard from Don. Went in in Jan. Still no gun. Started going once a month from then on and each time given a different excuse. Was told in April that he'd order one from a different company and that it should be here....drum roll.. 6-8 weeks. July comes still NEITHER gun. Each time he's asked me to be patient. 9 months is more than patient when the expectation was set for 6-8 weeks. A week ago after too much waiting and other gun shops in the area saying they're hearing horrible stories about Dons business I went in to ask for a refund. He gave me a $799 check & asked that I wait til Monday to cash. Another drum roll. Went to his bank and there's NO MONEY in his account. Tell me this guy isn't a scammer con artist. I am giving Don's Gun Shop 1 star because there is no spot for zero stars. I ordered ammunition from Jack on 1/30/2021 and expected 2-4 weeks for delivery of the 500 rounds (1/2 case). On May 5th, I had still not gotten my 500 rounds with no promise of when other than maybe next week. I had gotten this answer for the past 4 months. But on May 5th, Jack advised that he had a source that would deliver in 7-10 days if I wanted to order some more. I needed the ammunition, so ordered a case this time. Needless to say, still no ammunition delivered 2 months later on either the January order or the May order. In late May, I order from an internet supplier and received a case of ammo in 3 days. On June 18th, I asked Jack to credit my account with the over $900 in purchases never delivered. He said he would, but after 5 followups and a month later, still no credit. I would never order or recommend Don's Gun Shop to anyone, unless you were able to walk out with your purchase the same day! Horrible service and no promises met. read more

Don's is not your typical gun shop. They sell guns but most important is the gunsmith. They actually employ full time gunsmiths. They have great prices and have the most friendly and knowledgeable staff. They actually listen to what you say and give great feedback. I will definitely be doing more business here. read more

This is a true Gun Shop. You won't find huge glass cases filled with tons of inventory, and rooms filled with racks of crap you don't need. What YOU DO find is A+ Customer Service and a REAL gunsmith. Someone who knows how to fix and take care of your guns. That is rare these days! Don and Handsome Jack are outstanding people to deal with. They always call you about any work, or questions. And there prices have been great too! I love that place!!!
