Like practically every gun store in this town (except Ubers) their prices are way too high because…read morethere's tons of young men walking around with multi thousand dollar paychecks in their pockets for the first time in their lives. When I asked for .44 magnum they offered me .44 special at nearly $70 a box. I literally laughed and asked if they were serious. After telling them AIM surplus sells .44 mag for under $40 a box they said "well we can't compete with online prices." Sir that's a $30 difference, not some dealer markup to keep the lights on. Never bought a gun but their prices seem to be the industry standard $50 above MSRP. I get competition with online gun sales and ammo must be tough but I'm trying to support my LGS and you guys make it really hard to do so with these crazy prices. Lastly their transfer fees are abysmal. They clearly want you to buy from them and discourage you from buying online through high fees.

I ended up buying a mag loader when I picked up my firearm...they have so many options for anything gun related. Also good selection of knives etc. Will definitely keep in mind next time I'm ready to purchase another gun to add to my collection!

If you ever read my reviews before, then you'll know this is my first ever review for a gun range,…read moreand that is because until recently, I've never stepped foot inside of one. While driving along the Gulf coast on the way to Destin, I noticed a sign for the store on my left hand side. I've always enjoyed archery and wanted to test my shot at least once in my life, but was always quite intimidated. I've past up the opportunity to experience a range countless times prior but after seeing the recent contest in the Olympics, I figured what the heck, let's just at least check it out. Upon walking in, I told the fellas behind the counter that we're from 100% newbies, have never shot or even held a gun before, and were visiting from New York. One employee grinned and jokingly remarked "ohh just the words we love to hear", to which we all had a good chuckle. We told them our intentions of going to the range for the first time and they were very patient and informative every step of the way. First, they gave us an 45 minutes to an hour of private safety instruction. They went over the do's and don'ts, foundational aspects of stance, safety and aim. Our instructor was very clear, calm and professional. After we felt comfortable enough and passed his standards, we were on our way to the actual range. While dawning proper ear and eye protection, we were allowed to pick any guns we'd like, and could swap out anytime. What was so unexpected and neat about it all, was the price! We shot one full box of ammo, tried a handgun and a rifle, for about an hour or so, all for only $70! If we had time, we were told we could literally stay there the entire day, as the main charge is really only for the ammo. While I'm totally guessing here, I'd totally assume it would be 2-3x that up here in New York. While I'm not sure this is an activity I'd do again, I'm certainly glad to have tried it and can cross it off my list. Big thanks to Oak Ridge Gun Club for being so patient and professional. I'd recommend them to anyone whose in the area looking to give it a try.

I had 2 handguns I'd purchased at an online auction sent to the FFL at Pensacola Indoor Shooting…read moreRange. They arrived a few days apart, so when the second arrived, I called them around noon to see if I could come in to pick both up, as I have a concealed carry permit and the law does not require me to have the waiting period. The guy who I was talking to said "OK" and asked me to hold for a few seconds while he went to check on both guns. He returned to the phone and said they had both guns, that I could pick them both up...$40 FFL fee for the Astra revolver and $60 fee for the Colt revolver + the $5 background check. I asked him why the extra $20 on the Colt. He said "because that Colt came in today" and he'd have to "rush" the paperwork on that gun because it just came in today, whereas the Astra came in a day or so before so there was no "rush" fee on that gun's paperwork. I infer that is store policy to charge an extra $20 if they have to "rush". I said to him, "OK, I had hoped to pick up both today, but I'll wait until tomorrow to save myself $20. I told him I had no further comment to make about that extra $20 rush fee but I suspect he could read my mind right now. He said "OK". I declined to pay the extra $20 and told the man I'd wait until the next day so they wouldn't have to "rush". Here's the deal: When I acquire 2 guns at the same time, both guns go on the same ATF form 4473. That actually saves time in paperwork. It creates no requirement to "rush". That $20 fee is just wallet mining, and if the customer doesn't pay it, he gets "penalized" with a 1 day wait. Kind of like "Give me $20 or I'll make you wait to get your gun". I begrudge no company turning a profit or making money. But the fee that FFL's charge to complete the required federal paperwork (ATF form 4473) is just to complete the paperwork. It has no proviso on how much they can charge. The creative addition of a $20 "Rush" charge on top of their regular $40 fee is just wrong. Not illegal. Just wrong. I've been around guns since before federal paperwork became required for a citizen to buy or transfer a gun across state lines. I have never heard of an FFL license holder charging an extra "rush" fee like that. I won't go back there. I dislike their business model.
