I had 2 handguns I'd purchased at an online auction sent to the FFL at Pensacola Indoor Shooting Range. They arrived a few days apart, so when the second arrived, I called them around noon to see if I could come in to pick both up, as I have a concealed carry permit and the law does not require me to have the waiting period. The guy who I was talking to said "OK" and asked me to hold for a few seconds while he went to check on both guns. He returned to the phone and said they had both guns, that I could pick them both up...$40 FFL fee for the Astra revolver and $60 fee for the Colt revolver + the $5 background check. I asked him why the extra $20 on the Colt. He said "because that Colt came in today" and he'd have to "rush" the paperwork on that gun because it just came in today, whereas the Astra came in a day or so before so there was no "rush" fee on that gun's paperwork. I infer that is store policy to charge an extra $20 if they have to "rush". I said to him, "OK, I had hoped to pick up both today, but I'll wait until tomorrow to save myself $20. I told him I had no further comment to make about that extra $20 rush fee but I suspect he could read my mind right now. He said "OK". I declined to pay the extra $20 and told the man I'd wait until the next day so they wouldn't have to "rush". Here's the deal: When I acquire 2 guns at the same time, both guns go on the same ATF form 4473. That actually saves time in paperwork. It creates no requirement to "rush". That $20 fee is just wallet mining, and if the customer doesn't pay it, he gets "penalized" with a 1 day wait. Kind of like "Give me $20 or I'll make you wait to get your gun". I begrudge no company turning a profit or making money. But the fee that FFL's charge to complete the required federal paperwork (ATF form 4473) is just to complete the paperwork. It has no proviso on how much they can charge. The creative addition of a $20 "Rush" charge on top of their regular $40 fee is just wrong. Not illegal. Just wrong. I've been around guns since before federal paperwork became required for a citizen to buy or transfer a gun across state lines. I have never heard of an FFL license holder charging an extra "rush" fee like that. I won't go back there. I dislike their business model. read more

Prices are good. Pretty rude staff though. Not uncommon for a gun store/ range. Only do rifles and Sunday and Friday which is super lame. Like what is stopping this place from doing rifles everyday? I had nothing but a great experience here. Both employees working were super friendly and helpful. One of them gave me suggestions of other pistols to check out. After I was done shooting, the on staff gunsmith showed me how to field strip my pistol, clean it, and put it back together. Having him go above and beyond to show me hands on how to do it was awesome!!! He got me set up with all the necessary supplies to start cleaning it on my own. I will definitely be back. read more

Been there to shoot several times with progressively bad service. Last time I went to shoot new pistol and zero red dot on it. Once I endured the rude service and third degree interrogation checking in. I went inside the range. While setting up with my target, pistol and ammo the instructor that works there (very nice guy) spoke to me while setting up for a student that was not there yet. I told him I was shooting my new pistol with red dot and was going to try and zero it. He offered to zero it for me and I gratefully accepted. He already had a target set up in his lane and he refused to let me replace it with one of mine. He took one shot and made an adjustment, then took a second shot and made an adjustment. Then all of a sudden the store manager rushes into the range and very loudly demanded to know what we were doing. I told him the instructor was adjusting zero on my red dot, and he came unglued. He said it cost $40.00 to zero a red dot and if I was not paying it then it could not be done. He repeated this multiple times in a hissy fit. He was over the top in the anger, offensive, disrespecful, and totally rude attitude he displayed. I told him I had no intention of paying $40.00 to have my red dot zeroed and after retrieving my pistol from the instructor, and returning to my lane, he left the range. I did not tell him the instructor offered to zero my red dot, because I did not want get him in line of the bad attitude of the manager. After he left the instructor said my red dot should be zeroed with next shot. It was. ;) It is my opinion that the owner of this business should find another manager that will treat the customers with respect. read more

We live close to this range always went to a different one Sunday decided to go scope it out. Walk in was not greeted then had 2 of the unfriendly employees help us . It was like we inconvenience them to get us in the door. The big guy behind the register was one of the rudest people I've encountered. Why upon leaving your attitude changed . I was searching for a CCW class in order to acquire my Florida License. I knew about the cheap classes at the various hotels around town (Buy I figure you get what you pay for). Harry D the CCW instructor was very well versed and assisted me in refining my grip ( I have been shooting for years but started when semi-autos were not the norm -Ok I'm old ). Harry was extremely patient with the people that knew nothing about guns or gun safety I recommend this class and Pensacola Indoor range I also will be back to keep in practice. read more

Went to pick up a Firearm that I had purchased from another dealer(Tried to purchase through this dealer, but they could not locate it, they seemed frustrated I wasn't purchasing a different firearm from them, when I was in before they did not have it in stocks and did not have an ETA. While waiting for background check, watched an instructor work with a student in their showroom, they both took turns handling a firearm and pointed it occasionally at another customer and an employee. He did clear the firearm first, not that it would matter to me. read more

I went to Florida to visit a friend and I told her I wanna try shooting. She brought me to this place, I guess she's been here before with her coworkers. First of all shout out to Dean, the guy who assist us throughout the whole process. He is very knowledgeable about guns and most of all he is very patient for first timer like me, We tried different types of gun while we were there (nothing fancy, just the girly stuff). I had great time and good laugh. The prices were not bad.(I think) They have waiver for you sign before you start and they explain to you how things works. They have a sign too that says no sleeveless allowed and I learned my lesson why they have that sign there. Lol! I would definitely go back when I'm in Pensacola again. read more

I went to the Pensacola Indoor Shooting Range on 2/13/21 for the CCW class. The training room was four seats next to each other with no distance between seats And a bunch of rows. Out of the class of 20 something only four were wearing masks. With Covid so prevalent this is really unacceptable! The instructors were not masked either. The range was open to the public and only five class members were able to enter at a time and waiting was to long. Some of the money paid for the class included range time, which was hurried to get everyone in. Harry the instructor was fine. The guy at outside the range was not helpful and had a bad attitude! read more

I will start at the beginning, a few years back I visited this place excited for Pensacola's first indoor shooting range. Everything was very clean and organized. Seemed to be very welcoming to all sorts of shooters. We checked in got our lane and began to shoot. All of the sudden the fire alarm went off towards the end of our shooting. At the time it was just my brother and I left. We looked around there were no signs as to why it went off or anything of the sort. It was only on for a brief second so we thought it was a mistake and began to shoot again. In the mean time a employee came in and began to pick up etc. not saying anything to us. A few moments later the large gentleman that works there came in yelling using plenty of cuss words to share his disdain to say that it was a cease fire. However there were no signs stating this. I thought maybe something happened and he was not having a good day. Fast forward to this past Saturday, same gentleman is working. He did not offer any help when we walked in. His assistant quickly started to help us. My buddy went to grab a target and I said I have plenty and pulled them out they are 12x12 and he goes they have to be this size and then proceed to offer us a purchase of targets not much bigger. Honestly probably just trying to get money with this one honestly. However that isn't a big deal. Whatever a couple bucks for targets, the main reason for this post is the safety issues I witnessed in the hour or less that I was there. A group of people walked in with their pistols out, mags in, and slides forward. At which point the gentleman that was helping us goes we need those in a case. The next instant that I witnessed something unsafe was when we were standing at the firing line and a man walked into the range area with a pistol in his hand, slide forward, mag in. The man just walked past the two gentlemen at the counter they should be watching for this. When he walked in he flagged several people. He then again did this when he walked out of the range. There was no RO inside the shooting area. This place was the worst range I have ever been to. Honestly drive the extra 30 minutes to go to Santa Rosa Shooting Center the people are much more friendly and willing to go out of their way to help you with any issues you may have. Will not return! From the looks of the other reviews the big guy needs to be fired. read more

My son (16 yr old) and I (retired military, and NOT a para rescue or combat controller ;) ) decided to go to a shooting range. We picked Pensacola Indoor Shooting Range range for our first experience? Walked in 2 people behind the desk. Took a while to even be acknowledged. When acknowledged, we were asked what gun we would like to shoot. We are not avid shooters so we needed some assistance in picking guns. Was told " I can't make recommendations because I don't know you" what the H...E double hockey sticks ?? I'm a beginner, why would you need to know me or my son?? Go by experience. Obviously I don't need a AK 47 or rocket launcher. Basically after that I was out of the mood. Seemed like just a number and or annoyance. Won't be back. Thanks anyways. Not sure where the bad reviews come from. The people here are always very helpful. I have noticed they are always very helpful to new shooters as well. Haven't gotten to shoot here much lately due to ammo shortages but have done multiple FFL transfers here and they have always been great with those. The CCW class was also very good and they have a lot of patience with people who are new to firearms. read more

Dropped by with a buddy of mine on a random Saturday because I wanted to check out a certain pistol (M&P 2.0 Compact) at the gun range before purchasing. Unfortunately they did not have it for rent, so I went with an M&P Shield. I ended up renting the pistol, earpro (inner and outer), two boxes of ammo and two targets which all totaled about $60. The staff were all very friendly and helpful (including the big guy behind the desk who other reviewers have mentioned) and they even went over the local gun laws with me as I'm only here for a bit for school. Will definitely be coming back again! read more

We may still give them a try and update this review, but I'm not at all impressed thus far. I was excited to see an indoor range in the area. However, on my first visit I had to stand around a long time and doing everything short of jumping up and down to get any attention to ask questions. I was then also told I couldn't even get a tour of the range, and couldn't go through the door unless paying. Ok, I passed. However, it still seemed like a good deal otherwise. With my spouse considering a purchase we stopped by again. On the store side we got a kid with no clue initially, then finally someone who at least knew the difference between a revolver and a semi-auto. We got cards for two instructors my wife could contact for an hour 1 on 1 to help find what works for her WITHOUT my two cents, as I requested. It all seemed good, until walking back to the range side and the SAME issues of not wanting to even acknowledge our presence. We waited 30 minutes, and each time we tried to talk to anyone they always had to "run" and take care of something. We could see by the TV screens the range was almost empty and only one couple sitting in the break area. Not sure what their emergency was. To top it all off, as of this year you MUST buy your ammo from them to shoot there. Their prices are ok though, if buying factory ammo, but what I once thought looked like a great deal went right down the drain if I can't use my own reloads. Pensacola still needs a decent indoor commercial range, or a gun club that can make one happen! read more

Place is awesome . First time there with my husband and everyone was so friendly and inviting . I've been to some ranges where they are very intimidating and it makes me not want to go back however quite the opposite here. The range is nice and clean and if you need something that you forgot at home they have it there. Will def be returning. read more
