The key to my truck's hitch pin broke in two, leaving me unable to unlock/remove the pin. I called another locksmith in Medford who said, "You need to call Don's." So I did. I drove over the next morning and Shawn not only had to pick the hitch pin's lock (lying on his back on the ground under my truck, I might add), but he had to do it about 20 times. That's how hitch pin locks work if you don't have a key. You pick it, turn it a quarter-turn, pick it again, and keep doing this "rinse and repeat" thing until it comes off. Total cost: $7.50 (and a joke that maybe he should have charged me $7.50 x 20...hahaha). I gave him a ten because he deserved at least that much of a tip, but a ten was all I had on me. I had a particularly challenging job that no other locksmiths wanted to tackle - remaking lost keys for a foreign motorcycle from scratch. Other shops wanted me to remove the ignition switch and bring it in to their shop. This would have been a major disassembly job, requiring cutting some components. Awesome service! The woman who answers the phone is a sweetheart and very easy to talk to. She booked my appointment to get my house rekeyed quickly with no hassle. They have a $99 rekeying special that includes the travel fee, 6 locks, and 4 keys. On day of the appointment, they were at my house on time and took less than 30 minutes to rekey 5 locks and copied 4 keys. Service guy was friendly and was able to take credit card on the spot. I received voicemail from this business. They used my name and stated, "we've rebuilt your lock," however; I did NOT seek there services. When I called to inquire about the voicemail, they refused to answer my question. It is very concerning that they had my number and my name, and claimed to have a lock to my house, but refused to answer my questions. In fact, they actually stated they would, "call the police." I guess Don's Lock will help any thief break into a house, and will refuse to answer if the owners of said house question them. read more
