We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Don's Seafood in Denham Springs! From start to finish, everything was on point. Brooke was our amazing server--friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was incredible! We started with the perfectly seasoned and extremely tender gator bites--highly recommend. My husband and I shared one of the seafood platters, which was more than enough for both of us and packed with flavor. Every item was cooked just right, and the coleslaw had a unique, delicious twist that really stood out. The atmosphere was welcoming, laid-back, and very clean. And I have to say--the Old Fashioned is a must-try. One of the best I've had. All around, it was a fantastic dining experience with great food, friendly service, and a cozy vibe. Wow, we were here for the 4th of July weekend and ate here three times. Each time we had the Atchafalaya crab cakes with a cream sauce the hush puppies and a plate of crab fingers. Delicious!!! And each time our waitresses were so friendly. What a great experience while visiting family. read more

After driving most of the day and setting up camp for the night at the local KOA we were ready for a good meal and boy did we land on a winner. We were seated immediately after arriving and our amazing server Brooke greeted us and took our drink order while introducing us to the menu I pretty much had made up my mind before arriving but listened as she went over a few of their speciality dishes. She quickly returned with our drinks and a plate of fresh buttery toasted french bread slices which were really good. We ordered the combo platter and a platter of fried shrimp and fried catfish both arrived warm and were delicious. My combo platter was quite the meal with fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, fried stuffed shrimp, hush puppies and a side of shrimp étouffée, these amazing green beans and charred corn on the cob. The half shrimp and half catfish platter was a large portion of each and served with hush puppies and coleslaw believe me no one was complaining at this table - every thing here exceeded our expectations and Brooke provided exceptional service we never wanted for anything. I looked at several restaurants before choosing Don's and there was no doubt we were coming here and we immediately knew we had made probably the best choice in town for seafood. I went to this restaurant for a birthday dinner. The only thing that I had was steamed vegetables as the vegan options are slim to none, but I knew that already. The veggies were very good though. The waitresses were super nice and very efficient. The establishment gives a down home Cajun feel, which is cool. From the other guests at the party the entrees were hit or miss, but my veggies were tasty, although the portion was very small. Overall, it was a cool experience. read more

We were seated in a comfortable booth and we got Carlie for our server, she was attentive to her tables warm and friendly talked with us quite a bit! It's clean here the folks who worked here bustled about making sure everyone was having a good time. The food is excellent well prepared, portion sizes are big! When you eat a meal like me and wife just did at this Don's Seafood, it makes you never want to dine out again. Tasteless, overpriced food and the worst service imaginable in a filthy restaurant where my wife witnessed a busboy picking up an item off a table and wiping it on a nearby post. This was lunchtime on a Saturday. I ordered half catfish, half red beans. Red beans were edible, but thinly cut fried catfish had no flavor whatsoever. My wife ordered fried shrimp, fries and a salad. The fried shrimp were tasteless and obviously frozen, the salad had white chunks of inedible lettuce. The service was awful. Either our waiter was half asleep or high on weed. We asked for tartar sauce and cocktail sauce and he forgot both. When he finally asked at the end of our meal if we needed refills and we said we did, he forgot those also. The restaurant was not packed. Our waiter was responsible for two tables. My wife used the restroom. It reeked of weed, which explained all the hostesses, waitresses and waiters standing around and socializing instead of being attentive and doing their damned jobs. The busboys were equally as half-ass. The bill was $55, which was an absolute joke. I won't eat at this Don's or any other ever again. It's a chain trying to live off the great reputation in established decades ago. It's now a hollow shell of itself. Avoid this place at all costs. The entire experience was sheer garbage. read more

Great place for good Cajun cuisine! Service was excellent! We were greeted promptly and had a wonderful and friendly server. It's definitely got the Louisiana/New Orleans vibe with the exposed brick and old wood. I ordered the seafood gumbo and boudin balls. Came here for to go food on a slow day - fyi. The gentleman taking care of my order was very polite. Their indoor decorations are really Cajun funky. Don't be alarmed by the alligator when you walk in, it's stuffed! I actually got the fried alligator to celebrate LSU Baseball's win against Florida in the national championships (made it taste all the better). I had it with some remo sauce. I came visit Don's in Denham on a Friday afternoon. It was right before the night crowd rush so I got to enjoy the last bit of sun outside in the patio seating area. My server, Madison, was super sweet and attentive throughout my stay. I ordered the seafood spinach dip as an appetizer, which I had been thinking about for dayyyyys before. Of course, it was delicious as always! For entree, I ordered the grilled stuffed shrimp. Also, great as always! My only complaint was that my food came out about 2 minutes directly after my appetizer was brought to the table. When I tell you I had completely forgot about Don's Seafood. Literally. It's sits off the Interstate and was out of site out of mind. I have not gone anywhere to eat since COVID but I have been trying to order out once a week. I had a real craving for fried fish and came across Dons on Yelp in my area. I have ordered three times since and I have yet to be disappointed. The fish (what I have ordered twice) never disappoints. Last Friday I had the lunch seafood platter. The etoufee was delicious I wanted more and the red beans were good. The fish was amazing as always and so were the fried shrimp. I had a stuff shrimp too that was really good. Try mixing it with the beans and thank me later! The portions are hit or miss. I have ordered large fish d platters twice for dinner and the portions were completely different. Never the less the taste was there and I look forward to fried fish Friday's Ohhhhhh please don't forget the hush puppies. Me, my mother and grandson went to have lunch at Don's Seafood in Denham Springs on Sunday. We ordered catfish for me and catfish for my grandson. The portion sizes of catfish were minuscule. I understand shrinkflation, but to charge $15 for 5 tiny, thin pieces of fish that barely equal one whole catfish fillet is ridiculous! My wife and I just had a delicious dinner, and to top it off, the server, Emily Thornton, was fantastic from start to finish! We ordered a dozen of the chargilled oysters, and our server, Emily, took the liberty since she knew we were sharing them to deliver them to the table in two plates, six to a plate! They were absolutely delicious and tasty! We then split an order of the shrimp tacos that came with some very tasty avocado ranch dressing, and they were very good! January 02, 2025 - We went to eat at the Don's in Denham Springs. To our surprise, they had all of their seafood from Louisiana and not imported, like that other Landry place down the road. I got the half and half - half Crawfish Etouffée and half Fried Crawfish Tails. My boyfriend got the Fried Catfish Poboy. It was only listed as a Fried Catfish Sandwich, on a Bun, but the nice waitress made it into a Poboy, which was on that good crusty New Orleans style bread. Everything we ate was delicious. I don't like a lot of rice with some of my stuff and lately when I say light on the rice, they put light on étouffée too, so I didn't say anything about having less rice. But they put their rice to the side of the dish. So that way I didn't have to get a lot of rice. So we will be back. It's only 4 miles from my house. Everything was just perfect. The only thing you have to buy are the hush puppies, but the waitress did bring us some garlic bread which was delicious. But I did get two little hush puppies with my entrée. read more

I looked for Oysters on my way up the road back to Texas, What better place to get oysters then Louisiana itself! This place was 5 min away, called to see if they had oysters since it was 915, they told me they had them so I headed there! Got it, I was greeted and seated immediately, the restaurant was very clean and inviting, RESTROOM was very clean as well! when I got seated, the waiter came out, told her I came for oysters only to find that they had just turned the oven off for oysters, it was 9:25 and they closed at 10, they told me they could turn it back on, but it would just take ten extra min and the extra minutes for them to cook, I agreed because I really wanted to try their oysters. The fish and shrimp came out promptly, drink came out promptly (which was AMAZING) , then came the oysters, ten min later, THEY WERE EVERYTHING I WANTED IN OYSTERS that night!
