There is always plenty of parking and it's easy to get to. Besides having the friendliest staff - they also feature the "wheel" with various amount from 5 cents up to I believe 8 cents - maybe 9 cents, plus they also add gift cards sometimes to the wheel. The way it works is that they count up all your bottles and cans and then you take a "spin" whatever the wheel lands on - that's how much you get per bottle - so you always get at least 5 cents per bottle, but sometimes you get more :) They are very organized and clean - though there is always that smell of a redemption center - it's still worth it! They even give out candy - LOL - but that's not all. They have some very interesting gifts in there too - candles and glasses made from recycled beer and pop bottles and cans - very interesting and they make great gifts for that hard to shop for person. So the next time you have a bag of returns, you are looking for a unique gift and you are the area - stop here and test out your luck!

I heard about "the place that counts with machines" but never visited. My bottles & cans have…read morealways been processed by a clerk behind a counter or one at a time by the machines at Wegmans. This time I had LOTS so I thought I'd give it a try. This business is unusual in that the business operates out of the building's side entrance. Parking is adequate, especially since the turn over rate here is surprising. I was met at the door by two very friendly employees who explained how this system works. They do everything. Just hand them the bags and stand back. The system operates so quickly that I was just barely able to keep up bringing bags in. The system is totally automated. Once the workers empty the bags into the sorting area everything is automatic. It's really amazing to watch as the bottles and cans are arranged and processed to a conveyor belt that takes them away. Everything is counted by computer. When finished, you're given a ticket that you take to a window where you are paid. Start to finish, 779 bottles and cans were processed in 6 minutes including getting paid I will never go anywhere else again.

Then to only get $20 at Can Counter as a joke and I felt robbed. Attendant was quiet rude and that's their job to count not ask me. If I had counted,I would have said I have 400 (est) returns. I had to deal with 5 children who rolled their eyes when I asked them to do something and he had more huffing and eye rolls than all 5 of them together. I wanted to tell him to get a different job if he doesn't like what he is doing. I had made the trip there several times before they were open. It says open get there and are closed. When I spoke to the owner she snapped at me for questioning the hours. As Rude as the kid I encountered. She said her business, her hours. She said she is often closed because she does breakfast with her friend and they go to yard sales. What? It's a business and there's no business. What's wrong with people like that? They are far from a business that provides a service to our community. I guess they found out that Tops has a restriction on how many returns they except, leaving Can Counter the only resource. Terrible business to deal with.

Very rarely would I associate a bottle and can redemption with cleanliness, efficiency, and…read morewonderful customer service, but Bud's Bottle Barn has all of that and more. You can't miss this place! Located in Depew, it boasts a barn-like facade and a sizeable parking lot. Lots of spaces up front so taking your bottles and cans in is made even easier. Inside, it's eclectically decorated and full of fun knick-knacks, so you'll have plenty to look at while you wait. And the most surprising thing: it is pristinely clean! No nasty smells or gross sights. The employees here are top-notch, too. They are very kind and accommodating -- if you need any help bringing your cans in, they'll give you a hand. And they're super fast-moving as well. I could never keep the numbers straight in my head, so I give them props for being so good at mental math! If you find yourself with a bunch of bottles and cans to trade in for some nice cash, I'd highly suggest coming to Bud's Bottle Barn. You can't beat the service!
