Nickels Redemption Center has been around for awhile now, but just being around as a redemption…read morecenter isn't going to cut it - and this place offers more than just your normal redemption of can and bottles! There is always plenty of parking and it's easy to get to. Besides having the friendliest staff - they also feature the "wheel" with various amount from 5 cents up to I believe 8 cents - maybe 9 cents, plus they also add gift cards sometimes to the wheel. The way it works is that they count up all your bottles and cans and then you take a "spin" whatever the wheel lands on - that's how much you get per bottle - so you always get at least 5 cents per bottle, but sometimes you get more :) They are very organized and clean - though there is always that smell of a redemption center - it's still worth it! They even give out candy - LOL - but that's not all. They have some very interesting gifts in there too - candles and glasses made from recycled beer and pop bottles and cans - very interesting and they make great gifts for that hard to shop for person. So the next time you have a bag of returns, you are looking for a unique gift and you are the area - stop here and test out your luck!

I heard about "the place that counts with machines" but never visited. My bottles & cans have…read morealways been processed by a clerk behind a counter or one at a time by the machines at Wegmans. This time I had LOTS so I thought I'd give it a try. This business is unusual in that the business operates out of the building's side entrance. Parking is adequate, especially since the turn over rate here is surprising. I was met at the door by two very friendly employees who explained how this system works. They do everything. Just hand them the bags and stand back. The system operates so quickly that I was just barely able to keep up bringing bags in. The system is totally automated. Once the workers empty the bags into the sorting area everything is automatic. It's really amazing to watch as the bottles and cans are arranged and processed to a conveyor belt that takes them away. Everything is counted by computer. When finished, you're given a ticket that you take to a window where you are paid. Start to finish, 779 bottles and cans were processed in 6 minutes including getting paid I will never go anywhere else again.

I know I had more than they counted. I had 13 white kitchen bags popping out the top and I got…read morenothing close to the last place that's now closed and got over $44 in cans. Then to only get $20 at Can Counter as a joke and I felt robbed. Attendant was quiet rude and that's their job to count not ask me. If I had counted,I would have said I have 400 (est) returns. I had to deal with 5 children who rolled their eyes when I asked them to do something and he had more huffing and eye rolls than all 5 of them together. I wanted to tell him to get a different job if he doesn't like what he is doing. I had made the trip there several times before they were open. It says open get there and are closed. When I spoke to the owner she snapped at me for questioning the hours. As Rude as the kid I encountered. She said her business, her hours. She said she is often closed because she does breakfast with her friend and they go to yard sales. What? It's a business and there's no business. What's wrong with people like that? They are far from a business that provides a service to our community. I guess they found out that Tops has a restriction on how many returns they except, leaving Can Counter the only resource. Terrible business to deal with.

Won't let me cancel contract, tells me that I have to wait until November 2025 in order to get out of contract. Sends me new contract to E-Docusign in August 2025. I tell them I will not sign this contract, then in November 2025. They tell me that if I wanted out of this, I needed to send them a certified letter between April 12, 2025 and July 11, 2025. Just prior to the recent COVID-19 shutdown, Stone Plumbing had come out to do a couple of small…read moreplumbing jobs I needed done. Scott was quick, professional, explained what he was doing and why, and left the job site completely clean, and charged a reasonable fee. Needless to say, I was very happy with his work, which was visibly better than previous plumbing that had been done at my house. At the time, I discussed some possible future projects with Scott, including the most pressing one: the so-called 'high efficiency' boiler for my house was failing, and late winter in Jamestown is no time to be without heat. Three other local plumbing/heating companies had worked on it to no avail, and two said they'd give me a quote on a replacement boiler, but never got back to me. Scott said he would work up a quote for me so we could address it quickly when I was ready to move forward. Shortly after that, the state shutdown was announced, and my boiler quit for good. While the other companies never responded to me, Scott called me back right away, got the new boiler ordered, and we were on our way. Within a few short days my old boiler was removed, replaced with a regular efficiency boiler that is working like a charm. Along the way Scott was able to work in a socially-distanced manner, easily fielded some unusual issues (we had to rent a 60-foot cherry-picker to get to the top of the very tall chimney stack to remove the old furnace lining and replace the chimney cover), and helped make a stressful situation easier to fix than I expected. All in all, I highly recommend Stone Plumbing for responsiveness, flexibility, excellent communication, and reasonable pricing. It was one of the most positive and professional experiences I've had with any home contractor in the last 20 years. They were my fourth call this time--but they got the job done that three previous plumbers didn't. They'll be my first call the next time I need any plumbing done.

The place is constantly dirty and currently only has 2 working dryers out of 13 dryers. They take for ever to do anything repair wise. I know of several other locals that use this establishment and we are all appaled at how it is run these days. When it is close to season starting for chautauqua they repair everything but off season things are left to go without a care in the world for those who still use it. It is a battle enough having to take laundry somewere to wash it without the battle for machines too. Very disappointed in how the place is being run these days.
