The coffee shop is part of a shopping strip that includes other popular businesses like Aji Ramen and Hoodadak. The ambiance and decor are quite lovely! The cafe is much larger inside than I expected, and it was super clean with good, reliable WiFi. We just stopped by for a few minutes and were recommended the honey nut latte as one of their more popular drinks. We got it hot. It was perfect! Not too hot, definitely not cold, great flavor, strong coffee flavor, and not too sweet. There's also a wall of fancy teas that's definitely worth checking out. (See my photo.) Service was also good! Nice, kind employee and the drink came out quickly. Luckily there wasn't a line when I arrived and only 2 other people in the cafe chatting at the time. Their seasonal and constantly rotating menu is a brunch worthy, but not particularly destination worthy. From croissant sandwiches to avocado toast, they've done aa decent job at keeping everything presentable and quality. The daily pastry selection is also a variable and being out of danishes and muffins by mid afternoon is a real possibility. The customer service deserves special kudos since they've always done a great job in making every experience feel like a welcome one. They close every day at 5pm.

Each matcha is $8.5. They claim to use ceremonial grade matcha but under the matcha latte list, there is only one drink labeled CG (ceremonial grade) while others do not. The CG is the basic and they use agave for sweetening. They also don't hand mix per cup. It is pre-batched. I'm not a pre-batch hater although I do prefer each cup to be hand mixed, so I will give it a chance if it tastes good. The CG latte was surprisingly smooth and pretty good! Not bitter at all imo, but it was slightly grainy. They used the perfect amount of agave to balance. It wasn't sweet either. Just perfect balanced flavor for a regular CG matcha latte. The other matcha latte I ordered was the banana. It is SO GOOD! A lot grainier than the CG, though. But I would definitely order that again if I come to Katy. It has a cinnamon flavor in it (probably why it felt grainier than CG) and mixed with the banana flavor was just very yummy. Highly recommend!

Having a drive-thru is also super convenient and one of the main reasons I enjoy coming to Long's Coffee. My last two visits to this location have been a bit disappointing. On one visit, my drink was forgotten while I was dining in. On another occasion, they were out of ingredients for two different drinks I tried ordering. It was especially frustrating because the times I visited were not busy... one morning, they had just opened and still didn't have the necessary ingredients for a coconut matcha or strawberry matcha. Despite these experiences, I still appreciate the convenience and atmosphere of this location. I'm hopeful these issues improve because I genuinely enjoy Long's Coffee and would love to continue supporting them.

The nuttiness of the sesame goes SOOO well with the espresso taste and it's a good creaminess too. I also like the texture of the bits of sesame seeds in the drink. The weekends however are packed and usually have lines. If you're not a line person, I would definitely come on a weekday. When I ordered the employee let me know it'd be 15-20 mins. I got a chocolate croissant it was underwhelming. Not moist, chocolate to croissant ratio seemed off. I came for the speculoos and selected the jet black as well based on the reviews. I was tempted to try the jade but one of the baristas who loves both let me know it's very sweet compare to the others I was interested in. Both drinks were good. I do think the sesame is a more complex flavor especially if you like to actually taste your coffee. I would try the jade and ube drink I think it's called purple stuff; whenever I'm back on that side.
