the donuts here are super moist and delicious! based off the quality of the texture and flavors, you can tell they are made fresh daily. i grabbed half a dozen for my family and i to try consisting of original glazed, chocolate glaze with sprinkles, old fashioned blueberry cake, and a custard filled one. they were all really good and not too sweet. they also had a wide selection of kolaches and croissants available. i grabbed two small spicy sausage kolaches for my family and a ham and cheese one for myself. the ham and cheese kolache was decent, but i probably wouldn't get it again in the future since the texture of the ham was shredded and somewhat dry in my opinion. read more

This neighborhood chain location is our favorite. Been going here for over 20 years. Always have so many varieties & staffs are very nice & super helpful. Don't know what the secret is but their donuts don't get soggy or set when left out all day. Leftovers are still very good. We highly recommend this tried & true location. I'm normally a Shipley's donuts fan, but I must admit I liked my glazed donut from Westco!!! It was soft and perfectly glazed, sweet enough without making you feel like you'll go into a sugar coma. I can only imagine how much better it'd taste if it was hot and even fresher! (I went at around noon on a Wednesday, not really prime time for cranking out super fresh donuts) My friends told me the kolaches were only okay, but I didn't get a chance to try for myself. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be back for more donuts! read more

The people that work here are hardworking and always show prompt, friendly customer service. Our family comes here to get the sausage and jalapeño kolaches, breakfast sandwich croissants and glazed doughnuts. We go out of our way because of the friendly atmosphere and the flavor of the doughnuts etc served here. The doughnut dough is well flavored. It's surprising because most doughnut places rely on the flavor of the glaze. The egg in the breakfast croissants is seasoned nicely and bacon is crisp. Everyone loves the kolaches. I can't say enough good things about this place. We do truly go out of our way to come to this location! There are 5 places that sell doughnuts near our home but they're not so great. The woman behind the counter was super helpful, walking us through their delectable assortment of goodies. For just $5, we ended up ordering the following items: - Two large jalapeño/sausage/cheese kolaches (5.0/5.0) - best kolaches in town!! These kolaches are huge for the price and perfectly made. The bread was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, entrapping a perfectly balanced ratio of spicy, savory, and cheesy goodness. They offer a smaller size too, but who would pass up a larger version of this kolache masterpiece? - Donut with white frosting and sprinkles (4.0/5.0) - though the frosting was a tad too sweet for my liking, I really thought the donut itself was great. It's soft and yummy, but it has enough density to keep its form when you bite into it (unlike the Shipley's version). - Half dozen donut holes (4.0/5.0) - again, the glaze was a little too sweet, but I loved the dough itself. I am convinced that this is the best donut shop in Sugarland. I love savory kolaches, and this place has such a wide collection: boudin, Jimmy Dean, sausage, even brisket. Had the brisket and cheese kolaches, and I have to say that it was so unique and the brisket was flavorful. The lady is also super sweet and warms up everything. Only been to 2 westco but i like this one a lot more! There is one by my house but the guy who works there is always upset / not that friendly. I was pleasantly surprised when i went to this location. The woman that helped me was super friendly and attentive. They also carry my energy drink that i like ( monster rehab peach) which is great because the one near my house stopped carrying the non carbonated monsters except for lemonade( gross flavor). I was disappointed in the lack of variety (in particular, the lack of cinnamon twist). It wasn't even that late in the morning. 8:30a on a Monday?? I would have expected a display case flush with donuts. I walked away with a dozen donut holes and a bacon egg and cheese croissant sandwich. The donut holes were okay, better donut holes can be found elsewhere. The croissant sandwich was very tasty, but again, not something you couldn't find just as good elsewhere. The one in Pecan Grove is hands down the best, but this location is in a better spot and defiantly doesn't fall to fare in comparison. The Donuts are tasty and they're surprisingly cheap, but thats not why you need to go here. Westco Doughnuts should be called Westco Kolache because they seriously have Kolache's down to an art form. They are soft and warm and the cheese just melts in your mouth. Unlike other places *Shipleys's* you don't feel like you're biting into a croissant it a perfect ratio. The staff here is also very nice. They seem to remember we when I come in even though I haven't made a conscious effort to be noticeable. I've even had one occasion where while she was helping out the person in front of me, she was kind enough to start on my order and had me ready to check out before I got to the front. He also helped me with my coffee, being that I was too short! The sausage kolache was good, with yummy flaky bread. This is my first review ever, despite being a Yelp user for so long. My rationale is that I want more people to come here (even though I kinda feel it's my secret) because I would cry if it ever went out of business. I'm a college student, and I come back every time I'm in town for one reason: their breakfast tacos. I generally hate breakfast tacos - not a big fan of scrambled eggs or breakfast foods in general, but for some reason I'm hooked! Every single time I go, I get two potato breakfast tacos and lots of salsas. I've tried some of the other menu items on days when I'm hungrier or buying for my family, and have never been disappointed. The kolache bread is slightly sweet and soft, and the donuts and donut holes legitimately taste fresher than others I've had. I love this place so much!! Only downside is the $5 minimum on credit cards. Also, sidenote: they used to give some freebies to regulars, but since the change in the lady at the front, I haven't gotten any. I frequent the Pecan Grove location quite often. IMHO, these are the best donuts in Houston. My three go to donuts are glaze, Bavarian cream and jelly filled. All three are just to my liking. Firm, fluffy glaze with perfect glazing. Bavarian cream is just delicious and they fill with actual jelly. Not that smooth, runny glop that so many pass off. There sour cream cake donuts are also the bomb. Cheap and quick as well. Coffee sucks though. read more

Very good do-nuts and kolaches! Much better than the Shipley's down Highway 90 (read my review). They're always happy to serve and they have a great selection of items for very fair prices. However, they have a $5 minimum for credit/debit cards. This is a problem if you do not carry cash like me. Usually, I'm just ordering for myself which is $3 bucks are so.
