I've never been steered wrong and the help isn't there to just sell, they are there to actually help. The candle quality is quite good. I haven't tried a wide array of the fruity/food scents but most of the florals and fresh ones work perfect. The air freshener they sell is amazing as well. You can clear a room in one spray. I like to smell my candles before I buy them (and then buy them online when there are wicked good…read moredeals [or coupon codes available], which often there are), and came to Yankee Candle to do some "research". There is SO MUCH PRODUCT here. Candles, wax melts, sprays - every single size and smell imaginable. You forget what all of that looks like in real life when you do your retail therapy digitally! I like Yankee Candle, their product is usually five stars (shout-out to their scent plug-ins; they make my super old bathroom smell not funky). But I wanted to write a quick thank you note to one of their employees. I actually bought a candle in person and thought I liked it so much, I bought it again online. When I opened the jar to light it, my pet immediately started sneezing (this isn't the first time this has happened with their product). The candle I bought in person, I stupidly threw away the receipt for. The candle I bought online I was able to start the return process; I was told I would get a QR code via email and all I had to do was show it in person. Only, no QR code/return email ever came (despite MANY attempts at getting one). I decided to just go in person to the mall and explain all of this to them (I've never returned candles before, so I knew there was a good chance I would just have to take the "L"). Luckily for me, my email is registered so all of my (many) purchases are documented. No receipt? No problem. Not burned or used? No problem. The patient employee was able to look up my orders; and, I was able to swap out the candles out for ones that I wanted. It was a lot more seamless than I was expecting (also, despite buying the original large candles at a deep discount, somehow my return yielded more money back than I had spent, so I was also able to snag some wax melts and still have $7 leftover. Not sure how any of that worked, but I'm not complaining). So, thanks Nice Yankee Candle Person At The Mall! My flat smells good and my pet isn't sneezing!

When ringing me up she wrapped one of the candles in tissue paper so the other one would not break. I asked her to wrap the other one and she gave a pissy comment. When you walk in...oh my the scents! It's a sensory extravaganza, seeing the many colors of…read morebeautiful soaps and inhaling the amazing combination of delicious scents. I love their "Stone soaps" --they fit in my hand and are creamy and smooth in the shower--I'm never without them in my house. I also love the lilac soap, the shampoo bar (I'll never buy liquid shampoo again!), and the luxurious rose geranium hand cream. The small room where I keep my many Farmcraft soaps smells wonderful for several weeks after a shopping trip. I've enjoyed a summer tour, learning about beekeeping, herb growing, and seeing how they make some of their soaps. I even learned how to lighten my mood by brushing my hands through lemon balm and inhaling the scent.

I hadn't started anything and sure as hell didn't give it just 3 stars! That being said, let us begin! Downtown Burlington! What a very unique, wonderful little area. Full of restaurants, name brand stores, bars, quaint little shops like this one, a wide open area lined with stores that gives off very Ithaca Commons vibes. The Commons back in the day were the shiiiiiiiit! Sadly nowadays...it's too commercialized. Burlington, VT tho...not so much. Sure they have a Patagonia store and some other bougie ass stores, but it still has that super chill vibe which made me happy. One bad thing...LOTS of homeless! LOTS! I get they are homeless, but wow! For a tiny city like Burlington...it's kinda mind blowing how many homeless they have all over the downtown area. Does that take away some of the magic that is..Burlington? Sure! Maybe a little! Then you come across adorable little stores like Home & Garden Vermont. What a (and I never use this word .. like ever lol but..) what a charming little store. Little bit of everything in there. It's the type of store that tourists absolutely love. Even the high prices don't seem to phase most tourists...then there is me haha! I'm cheap af. So appreciating these types of stores is more my cup of tea lol. Although, I came close to buying a few things in these little stores. My brother and I would see something and be like "let's check the others to see if the prices are any cheaper" They. were, not. Haha! If you saw a very cool Stowe or Burlington t-shirt in one store for $33 ... best beweave..it's $33 in the next one. These stores make their money regardless of cheap fks like myself...and I'm glad they do, Stores like Home & Garden Vermont add so much of that amazing magic that is felt throughout the downtown area. The staff is beyond sweet. Very nice lady helped us when we were there. Very bubbly, smiley, just an incredibly nice human. I did go up to her tho and told her that her store gave off Schitts Creek vibes. Yall remember, Rose Apothecary?? For some reason, parts of this store very much made me think of Patrick and David in their little Schitts Creek shop haha. The employee laughed and she said "all we need is David and we'd be set" haha! Rose Apothecary, now that I think of it...a lot of the stores around downtown are quaint like that. However, Home & Garden, I actually felt like it was like..a sister store of Rose Apothecary haha! I loved when David and Patrick opened that store in that series. I love love stores like that. So it was kind of special to walk in to this store and immediately feel that. Even my brother agreed. So I know I'm not like crazy haha. Store is very nice. Nicely laid out. They pay close attention to details in Home & Garden Vermont. They know exactly where to place everything for maximum exposure. Their front windows are even very homey to look at for the "window shoppers" What a great little shop. This was my first time ever in Vermont. I grew up in upstate New York, too! I know this will not be my first and last time in Vermont. Autumn on the east coast is something that is like no other. As a photographer, VT is like a dream come true during Autumn. Point of me saying that is...I know I will be back and I look forward to going to this little store again and all the others around the downtown area. Seeing as my family is still in upstate NY, yeah, I know I'll be back. Home and Gardrn VT...thank you for a very pleasant experience. You certainly will never be forgotten.
