I called the company and asked how much do they charge for a service call, she quoted $39 after I described the problem I was having with the key pad(s) both exterior and interior. On the day of service, the tech arrived 3 hours late and didn't call to let me know he wouldn't be arriving in the scheduled window of 8-12pm. When he finally got here, he said...You know how much this is going to cost? I said the office quoted me $39. He said no, it's $189, the $39 is only for me to show up. We charge a MINIMUM OF $189 if you want your problem fixed. WHAT!?! The lack of transparency from this company by not communicating the true price for a service call is unscrupulous. Avoid using Door Pro America When a customer calls for service they are expecting you to resolve the problem. When asked over the phone how much is your service call you should say at a minimum of $189. I did not pay the additional $150 and sent him on his way. read more

We'd been struggling with our garage door for more than a year, had tried replacing and reprogramming the remote, etc. When we reached out to Mike, he was here within a day and immediately diagnosed the problem. First business day after that he was here and replaced the aged opener. A week or two later we had problems with it refusing to go down using the remote. Mike was here quickly and moved the sensors which apparently were detecting something we couldn't see or find. The door opener has worked like a charm ever since! My garage door was slightly damaged when something went wrong and it started coming down as I was backing my car into the garage. The bottom panel was bent a little but the jarring of the door on the back end of the car popped off one of the rollers. The slight bend in the panel and not having the roller in place stopped the door from being able to close using the motorized unit. I had to pull the cord and close it manually. I called Door Pro America and someone came out and put the roller back on and got the door to go up and down again. The technician gave me an estimate to replace the whole bottom panel, which was over $1,000. When he left I contacted him by email (and followed up with a phone call) telling him to cancel the repair so I could think about it more. I had given him my credit card number for the down payment of half, so he had that information. In my email I specifically told him to cancel the order and not charge my credit card. My exact email read as follows: "Good morning *******, Please do not submit this order or charge my credit card. I am putting this off for now. Please let me know the charges for yesterday's visit and send me a bill or email me at this address. I will follow up with a call." This was the first week in October 2025 and I have heard nothing from the company in response to my email. On January 23, 2026 my credit card was charged $189.00 from Door Pro America with NO explanation or any kind of a bill from them since my original email last October. They charged my credit card without consent. I have emailed and called and the ONLY thing they sent me was a RECEIPT OF PAYMENT, to which my response was "This is NOT the breakdown of charges I asked for that I was told would be sent to me. I did not ask for a receipt, I asked for the bill for services and breakdown of charges. Please send me that information. As of this posting, I have heard nothing. The security sensors on my Chamberlain Garage door opener failed. Chamberlain sent out new sensors, which i installed. i was unable to get the sensors aligned. I called this company, Door Pro America, and was told that a technician would come out and do a COMPLETE analaysis of my system and then discuss necessary repairs with me. The initial fee was $189. I agreed, thinking they would look at everything. Two workers arrived, asked me what's wrong and I told them. They went to the garage and moved the sensors to a different location and things worked. They were there a total of 2 minutes. When I commented that $90 per minute was excessive, I was told that I could go on the website to find some coupons which would help bring down the cost. I did after they left--not true. This morning when I called the company to discuss, i was reminded that I agreed to the fee. I countered with "no one assessed anything to do with the entire garage door opener system. They took my description of the issue and went with it. The company was sorry, but I had agreed to the pricing. I was put on hold and then told that, if i wanted, they would send the team back out to do a full assessment............. So, they are taking my money, and then they are spending the technicians time to come back out and have a look/see.......... Being told by the saleman that the doors we wanted are readily available, we spent $$$$ on two doors. A week later, we receive a call that the doors are NOT available for the next 4-5 months. Grrr. Then, an month later, we got a call to schedule the install (surprise! the doors are available now). The day before, a message was left on the phone that they had a question. We made a return call the next morning, and was told the install was cancelled b/c the doors are not available. (What???) A few minutes after that call, we got another call and are told now the doors ARE available but cannot be installed today as scheduled. We took the day off for this install, and no, "we cannot be here for the install on Friday." Having already paid the total amount due and being given conflicting information on several occasions, we CAN NOT recommend this company. Costco recommends this company and now they will learn of the poor customer service we received. Hopefully that will impact DoorPro in a positive way. And hopefully we will eventually get our garage doors installed ASAP. read more

We ordered our doors thru Costco May 2021. I would NEVER recommend. 5 months later we still don't have doors. We had to pay in full, doors are done but they don't have anyone to drive them here from another state. We were told Aug 2021 delivery, now October 2021 and nothing. Currently if they paid a fair rate they would find a driver. Instead we're out thousands of dollars, no reasonable response from Door Pro. I signed up to get an estimate as a member of Costco. Sales rep, Jeff, went over details and options. Gave me the Jazzy option Amarr doors for $3334. I asked if they had something in the low $2000 range and showed him a Clopay model door, which I previously gotten estimates for in the low $2,000 range. His instant reply was, "if Costco thought Clopay was a good brand don't you think they would be selling them". He then tells me that they sell Clopay doors, but it would be way more than the low $2,000 range since Costco doesn't allow them to sell it. In either case, we are getting Amarr Hillcrest model 3138 with all the bells and whistles for $2214 from Door Doctor. See price in photo. Do your research people. They do not honor their "Best Price Guarantee" policy as stated in their audio recording. I recently had a repair made to replace a spring for my garage door and they charged over 2 times what 3 other national garage door retailers charged for the same service. When I requested they update my invoice to honor their best price guarantee they told me that only applied to companies like Lowes and Home Depot and not other national garage door retailers. My garage doors were having some issues opening and closing in the winters, so I called Door Pro America to schedule a maintenance check. The person answered the phone said $150 plus parts replacement if necessary. I told them I have 2 garage doors and they are only 3 yrs old. She said $150. Since my garage doors were relatively new, so only maintenance, e.g lubricating the wheels and tighten some loose ends, etc. The bill ended to be $300. I asked the technician why is it so expensive. He replied Door Pro charges $150 to come out plus $75X2 for the 2 doors. They were trying to MISLEAD customers by saying the service is $150, but in fact that $150 is the price for the technician JUST to come. For the simple lubricating the doors job, $300 is way above the norm! Be careful if you ever need garage door services. The technician just put grease on the hinges and wheels, and checked the garage door motors, that's about it. Definitely not worth $300! read more

I signed a contract on 02/23/21, a tech came out on 03/01, and I have not had any communication since. I have to constantly chase my salesman, Michael Llewellyn, who has given me no other information other than the manufacturer (Amarr) having delays from the pandemic. He doesnt answer emails, he never calls back, and they took half the money!! Seriously?? This is not a good way to do business. I completely regret using this company. A few caveats to begin with. My garage floor is unlevel, and the garage door opening is level. This, I imagine, makes door installation extremely difficult. Door Pro came out, and provided replacement/installation service which went well. We signed the papers, and sent the technician off without much noticing that the door was crooked. Door Pro sent someone out a few days later by the name of Jared who was extremely helpful. Jared set expectations low initially for leveling the door. Within a half and hour, Jared got the job done perfectly. Happy customer here, and would highly recommend Door Pro. I would definitely use their services again in the future. read more

Very happy with Door Pro America. I am in the building industry and originally had Ankmar bid new doors glass, modern from Anmar the manufacturer. There bid was high and few days latter happen to be at Costco and saw the same door on vendor display. I then called and they had the rep come right out from door pro America. Jim measured all 4 doors 3 18x9 and 1 10x9 door. The price was much better approx 30% better than Ankmar for the Anmar door. The doors were custom and took 4 months to get in. I was a little frustrated when part of the order was not ready when originally scheduled. I called VA were the home office is located for Door Pro and spoke to one of executive team and he engaged Immediately to resolve the situation and his contact and follow up was a welcome suprise. The doors were installed today and the local team worked almost 12 hours to get all 4 doors complete. WOW they look amazing, very impressed with Joe the local manager and his entire install team. No clue why there are so many negative reviews. I've used this company for repairs since I moved to Gainesville back in 2014. I just had them out to replace my detached garage doors, old wood doors from the 80's. Not only did their pricing beat overhead & stoneberger (I believe that's how it's spelled) but they got the doors in stock within a month! During a time where delays are almost expected they somehow managed to install it well within the quoted lead time. Sean at the corporate office is one of the best employees I've had the pleasure of dealing with. As always, I'm extremely impressed with this company and will continue to give them my business! We are renting and unfortunately have to deal with them on getting a door readjusted due to it not closing properly. Unreliable, unresponsive, and flat-out lied. I do NOT recommend using Door Pro America. Our torsion spring broke, so we called and got a date scheduled for them to come out. Today was that day, I took the day off of work because I had to be here from 8-5 to wait for the technician. I called around 9:30 am to make sure he was still coming and was told I was his third house and to expect him around lunch, but he would call once he was on the way. Long story short, I called multiple times and finally at 7:58 pm, I get a call saying that he came by but I wasn't here. I am furious. I have two Ring security cameras, one doorbell and one over the garage that are fully up and running that prove he did NOT show up at all. When I stated that I also never received a call from him, they said my number was wrong in their system...but they called me to tell me my number was wrong in their system. It would have been one thing to call and say something went wrong with an earlier job and he won't make it, but instead they flat-out lied about showing up when I've been here all day! I am beyond belief that with this level of customer service, Door Pro America is still in business. If I could, I would give this company a negative number of stars. We selected them because Costco recommended them. We are in New Jersey, Union County. We ordered the garage door in April 13th, 2021. They sent someone from the company to measure the space and see what is needed. They told us they had about 12 weeks of waiting time, because the company that supplies them was behind. So we knew that. That should have been about July 20th, we agreed. They told us no money is charged to our card until the job is finished. After several calls, July became August, they finally gave us an installation date for August 23rd. That's already 5 weeks behind what they promised. Fine. Everything takes longer these days. We were just happy they were finally coming. We emptied the entire garage, so they could have space to work. The truck came, with materials and two technicians. They took one look at the actual door and the boxes they had in the truck and they said : "They gave us the wrong order, this is not the right door and springs for your garage. Please call the company so they talk to the suppliers and get you a new date in 48 hours" I thought that was already unprofessional. But mistakes are possible. So I called the company, spoke to Matt. He was kind, but could not offer a solution, other than: "we depend on a manufacturing company that's behind in their orders, because of Covid". It could be true, and it is also very convenient. I was promised a call with a new date, in 48 hours. To my recollection, that didn't happen. I called yesterday again, spoke to Michael first, who told me I have to wait another 15 weeks, same excuses! I could not believe it. I said I want to cancel the order. He said a supervisor would call me before the end of the day. They didn't. I called at the end of the day, and spoke to a supervisor, Scyvall (hope I didn't misspelled the name), who said they had called us on August 25th and offered a 5% discount for the inconvenience. I didn't received that call, nor did my husband. And again blaming the manufacturing company, the employee who took my call earlier, Covid, etc etc. I do not want to hear "I'm sorry you feel that way". I want them to take responsibility, be professional, and solve the problem they created. Storm Ida brought a ton of water in our area. And now the old garage door is stuck, cannot be opened anymore. So that adds to the problem. It has been almost 22 weeks since we placed the order. Add 15 more weeks to that, that would be about 37 weeks waiting for a regular garage door, nothing fancy or custom made. This supervisor now said he has to talk to his manager and I will get a call on Monday to solve the issue. I do not want to deal with them anymore. I will cancel the order on Monday. And I will find someone else, local, to get the job done. I hope this review helps someone else. Please avoid them. read more

Last week, when it was windy, my husband opened the side door and the garage door came off the hinges and completely bent half the way up. Keep in mind Oregon doesn't get too windy... Terrible, terrible service. I have had continuing problems with the garage door since Door Pro installed it. It made more noise than my previous door and also had problems opening and closing. I had the door checked while it was under warranty. The technician that checked it made adjusts once again but once he left and I started using the door routinely the door started having issues again when I tried to open. When I called several days later the company told me that it was no longer under warranty and that they were not responsible for the work the technician had done the previous week. So the company sends a technician who screws up my door, then says I have to pay them to fix it. I would give them ZERO stars if possible. read more

If I could give this company zero stars then I would. We called them because they are the ones who installed the garage door in my townhouse and they have a sticker on the back of the garage door. So when my garage door started malfunctioning we gave them a call immediately on a Saturday morning, requesting emergency service since the temps were in the teens. Despite having an emergency service phone number on the sticker we were not given a call back until Monday morning. On Monday the front desk says their first available appointment is on Friday between the hours of 8 - 5pm. They stated that we would be given a call one hour prior to the tech mission showing up so we agreed to the appointment window even though my husband would have to take a leave in order to be here. Fast forward to Friday morning, the townhouse is a three story townhouse with the front door on the bottom floor and the bedrooms on the third floor. I have a 1 year old, so I'm up early. As we are getting ready for the day and getting him ready, my husband notices he has a missed call. He attempts to call the number back and it immediately goes to a voicemail stating that the mailbox is not set up and cannot accept voicemail. My husband atte to call back five times before he decides to call the service desk. The service desk states that she is going to call the tech and he will be on the way. After 40 mins, she calls back to inform us the tech is already in Maryland where the rest of his service calls are at. The time of the first missed call was 7:42!! He stated he came at 7:50, knocked on the door (again, we are on the 3rd floor, no way we can hear a knock on the first floor) and left when we didn't answer. There was a car parked in the driveway since, you know, my garage is broken!!!! She informs us that his schedule is full, and would we like to reschedule - they can fit us in NEXT FRIDAY! We asked if he was the only tech and she says that he is the only one assigned to our area - which for some reason includes Maryland???? Do not call these people. read more

As a member of Costco, we called Door Pro America to schedule a cost estimate appointment for a new set of garage doors. We made an appointment for the following week on a Tuesday. In the meantime, we received an email saying a sales rep would call the day before to confirm the time for our appointment. No one called, and we didn't hear from anyone on the day of our appointment. After waiting all morning, we called Door Pro America and they said there was a scheduling error, and said they could reschedule for the following week. I explained that I had taken time off from work this week, and would be at work next week. They said they would call us back shortly and have someone still come out that same day. We received no call until the end of the week when they asked us if we wanted to reschedule for the following week. We rearranged our schedule again for the following week, only to have them call back the following week asking if we wouldn't mind rescheduling again for the day after our re-scheduled appointment date. Finally I got a little heated with the customer service rep, Lacey Hanks, and asked why should I believe anything they say at this point? She seemed unfazed and tried to explain that that's not the way they do business. But apparently it is, because it was our experience, and that of others according to many of the reviews here. As a member of Costco for almost 30 years, I'm shocked that they would be associated with such an unprofessional company. We need a new garage door so I went to the Costco web site, found the link to their garage door services, and filled out the request for a quote. The system allowed me to choose the date and time for the visit. OK...Thursday at 1230. Done. At 1215 the phone rings and it is "Ricky" from Door Pro America (not the company that the Costco system indicated would call). "Ricky" states that he is on his way and would be at the house at 1315 (1:15pm) exactly 45 minutes late. When I pointed that out he offered to cancel the appointment. That is a good sales tactic...if you are late, cancel the appointment and lose the sale. Well done. So "Ricky" shows up and promptly asks me for my name. Ummm...I think I included that in my request for service. He then asks for the name of the town where I live. Well darn, did I forget to include that as well? If so, how did you find my house? Now "Ricky" decides he needs to measure. I tell him that the door is 16' x 8'. "Ricky" says that he has to measure to be sure. I tell him that I know what the size is and that I want a quote for an Amarr Heritage Model 2000. "Ricky" now says he can deliver a door exactly like the old builders grade door with styrofoam insulation. I tell him No, I told you what I wanted a quote for. "Ricky" then states: 1) such a door is steel clad (yes, I know and that is what I want), 2) that Amarr only makes one version of the Heritage door. I tell him, no, there are three models and I want a quote for the 2000 model. So "Ricky" writes up a quote for an Amarr Heritage (no model indicated for $2,675 including new spring, rails, seals, and tax. AND...a Costco customer rebate of...$401. Now he asks me to sign a contract. At this point he has exhausted my patience and I tell him that I will discuss the pricing with my Minister of Finance and we will call him back. "Ricky" is not happy. The thing is that I had a quote from a very local, highly rated door firm that also distributes Amarr doors. This quote is for a Heritage Model 2000, rails, spring, seals, and tax for $1,850. So I call "Ricky's" office to get confirmation that the quote he gave me was for the model I requested. The young lady that answers the phone states that only "Ricky" can give me that information. Really? Does the distributor not know what their sales people are selling the product for? So I call "Ricky" back and he again tells me that Amarr only sells one model of the Heritage door. When I tell him that I pulled information from the Amarr company website and that there really are three models he gets very "upset" and claims, despite visual and tactile evidence, that there is only one model. Me thinks that "Ricky" is a few fries short of a happy meal. read more

The level of customer service was unbelievable. I do not recommend! I asked to speak with the owner after talking to the Manager Savelle who informed me she was the customer service relation and that I couldn't talk with the owner. I made an appointment on Friday to have my garage door repaired. I was given an appointment for Wednesday with an ALL day timeframe. I called on Wednesday to confirm that the service tech was still coming out. The receptionist said I was no longer on the schedule as I had cancelled. When Savelle called me on Tuesday, I told her that I had contacted several garage pair shops and that I had an appointment for Wednesday and asked was she calling from the Jessup Garage place. She said NO... which lead me to be it was one of the other 6 garage places I had called. Savelle NEVER mentioned she was calling to reschedule my appointment! I also sent pictures of my garage to show them that it wasn't the springs that needed to be replaced. The receptionists started quoting me prices and mentioned the service tech fee was $150 plus any parts to replace. She than stated that the motor was the issue and that the repair for the motor would be $350 plus the service fee. She also said that the motor repair may not last as long so she quoted me prices for a new motor without camera ~$700 or with camera around ~$800. They wanted me to make a decision based off of pictures that I provided which option I wanted. I told them NO I would make the decision when a technician came out to tell me what's exactly wrong with my garage door. The receptionist puts the manager Savelle on the line and whom proceeded to tell me that I couldn't speak with an manager about my level of customer service I received from her as she was the customer service relation. I was going to proceed to make the appointment but decided I will not give my money to a company that lacks customer service and cancels appointments without properly communicating to customer that they need to cancel and reschedule my appointment. On top of that Savelle offered an appointment for "MAYBE" tomorrow but I would have to wait to see if they have something available (UNHEARED OF). Savelle then mentioned that the service fee is $150 and if the tech needs to come back out to replace a piece it will be another $150 for a service fee and the parts. ALL BECAUSE I WOULDN'T AGREE TO EITHER NEW MOTOR WITH OR WITHOUT A CAMERA. THE WORST!!!! read more

However they send someone who I couldn't understand an you now they couldn't understand me. The person did not fix the problem- took my $150.00 an road off into the sunset. I called Door Pro an explained that the problem was not fixed, they refused to refund me my money, as I told them I solved the problem myself. I've had Door Pro America install all of our Garage Doors in houses we've built for the last 3 years. The salesmen are very knowledgeable and they have doors for all price ranges and a variety of styles. They updated us with delivery and installation schedules and have been very helpful to our customers. I've had cheap doors and cheap openers, so there definitely is a difference! Any issues that came up (an there have been few) were always addressed quickly and professionally. They designed and installed 8 high lift 9' wide Classica 3000 doors, wall mounted 8500 LiftMaster openers for each, 2 battery back-up units, as well as wall mounted controls and remote Internet gateway access for all. They also installed a new door for an older existing garage on the property which matches the other doors perfectly. Their price was highly competitive, a complete value and we are very happy to recommend this firm to others. This company has the worst customer service of any contractor I've ever used. From the Manager Brad all the way down to the representatives on the phone. As a vendor in Costco...they clearly do not know the value of that collaboration nor the value of customer service. If you order a door through Costco, make sure they do not use this contractor for the installation or service. Note to Door Pro America: Your front line staff a.k.a. Had appt via Costco but spoke to Gainsville, VA rep via phone and email. Cancelled late at night via email only. said he had other appt that he had to go to. We bought from another company the day of his 2nd cancelled appt. Unreliable, bad customer service. Seriously, if you cannot show up to an estimate, why would I buy from you? your loss. read more

Horrible Service! We gave them many chances to make it right. They chose not to. We spent over $20,000 to have five large doors installed. They misordered the doors had to wait weeks with a large gaping hole in the house, so they could order the missing door and hardware. Many trips back and forth because of missing or defective parts. We asked to modify the installation, got a quote weeks after asking, but no response for months after approving the quote. We hire a 5-star company. Install was quick and easy. read more
