This room is one of the best in the country. You can easily play it over and over again. The puzzles are great. The set is great. The actors are NEXT LEVEL. The thoughtfulness that's gone into every little detail is very obvious. Just from the intro to the wildly clever way they go over the rules to the MYRIAD OF CHOICES. What you do in the first room dictates what happens in the second room. I'm absolutely blown away with the attention to every detail. What makes it even more wild is that there is so much of this game that many people will never see (because they choose a different option) Stop what you're doing, book both rooms back to back. This is the escape room my friends and I can't stop talking about even 4 months later! It is truly immersive and so much fun. It's just the right amount of challenging and you can always ask for help if you get stuck (we didn't and got a surprise for not doing so!) Each chapter has multiple endings so you can keep going back to try to unlock them all! We were able to stick around even after the experience was done just to chat about our route and decisions with the game host/bartender. We will definitely go back soon! This was my first in-person escape room experience, and unfortunately it set the bar really high. Everything, from the overall story, to the sets and puzzles, to the actors/staff, is so well-thought-out and put together. The real differentiator here from what I assume a "typical escape room" experience is, was the level of acting and improvisational talent, which made the whole experience super interactive and made us feel like we really had a say in what happened next. Actors never broke character, and instead were able to showcase even the administrative stuff like rules in a creative way - all in-character and fitting the theme (e.g. portraying rules through interactive tarot card readings prior to our entrance into the rooms). The owner/creative director, who was also the first character we encountered, was incredible and charismatic. He really set the stage for a great experience in the upcoming rooms. Moving into the actual game, the area is made up of multiple rooms that can unlock depending on the course of your actions. The actor inside -- I think there may have been more than one, but we encountered one main one -- was also talented. She never once broke character, all while smoothly providing help to us when we needed it, as a sort of guide (which I assume typical escape rooms have), but was also a large part of the story and our decisions (which I assume typical escape rooms don't always have, at least in such depth). The special effects were pretty good (there were some cool transition effects both initiated by the actor in response to our actions, as well as by us discovering something in the room), and I think the way the actors, set, and effects all came together really let us feel immersed and have fun with the puzzles, which were also nicely varied and challenging, but not frustratingly-difficult. It was also just really fun and funny overall -- I'm not sure if it's supposed to be like this, but inside the room wasn't 100% serious and solemn. We joked around with the actor who (without a second of hesitation) had a relevant and quick retort to everything we threw at her, all of course in line with her character. It was really entertaining and enjoyable, and also our entry came with a free drink ticket which you could use before or after the main part. The story is well-written and cohesive, great for people who like time travel stories and historical settings -- We did 1897 Heresy this time, but I'd probably go back for 1917 Madness and others. I'm imagining a sort of lighter, fun, escape room version of Sleep No More. read more

My group had so much fun! Once you're sent back to the bar to wait, you enter an immersive world (time?). The actors paid attention to our group dynamics and did a good job at pulling everyone in without putting anyone too on the spot. We enjoyed Heresy enough that we immediately signed up for the next session of Madness, starting 45 minutes after we finished Heresy. The puzzles and themes were different enough to keep our interest even back-to-back. Our group of 5 felt like a good size. There usually wasn't someone waiting around without a puzzle to work on. 6 would be a good size, too. Curious about the paths we didn't take. Maybe we'll eventually return and make different choices. read more

Just do it. I don't want to set your expectations too high but this was the best 'escape room' I've ever done. I put escape room in quotes because although this has the signature escape room puzzles and the idea of getting out of room, it goes far beyond the typical conventions of an escape room. Acting, a good story, great set design, impactful choices (your decision in this escape room affects a later one if you decide to do another one), some very inventive and well put together puzzles. I don't want spoil anything but I'll say there's a lot of content for your purchase and I felt it was well worth the money we spent. There was also a twist that I didn't anticipate and I was blown away by the reveal. Honestly, if this is your sort of thing (or even if it isn't but you were thinking of giving it a try) DO IT! I do have notes for the story (I want to cry and have a story that breaks me, doors of divergence!) but the one there more than scratches the fun mystery itch. The actors are outstanding, and the entire experience makes for an immersive treat. Seriously just go to this thing and bring your brainy buddies! My friends and I share an unhealthy escape room obsession, and with many points of comparison, this was our favorite! The difficulty level is perfect for experienced escapees, and the actors/immersive experience is incredible. We started with Heresy 1897 (the first chapter in the trilogy of rooms) and liked it so much we came back a few days later for the next chapter. So glad we did because part two was EVEN BETTER!
